Abstract

本発明は、機械的強度と弾性に優れ、更に、高温条件下における自重変形が小さい樹脂組成物を提供することを目的とする。本発明はイソブチレン系重合体(A)、芳香族ビニル系化合物を構成単量体とする重合体ブロック(b1)と、イソブチレン以外の脂肪族炭化水素系化合物を構成単量体とする重合体ブロック(b2)とからなる芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマー(B)、および、充填材(C)からなることを特徴とする樹脂組成物に関する。この組成物は、例えば、シーリング材、特に複層ガラス用ホットメルトシーリング材、あるいは複層ガラス用ホットメルトスペーサーとして好適に使用することが出来る。

[0002] シーリング材は、水密性ゃ気密性を得るために目地に充填する材料として、 自動車 や建材などに幅広く使用される。シーリング材には高い気密性が求められ、また使用 する用途により異なるものの、多くの場合、高弾性や高機械的強度などの特性を有 することが求められる。
[0003] 建材用シーリング材の使用例の一つとして、複層ガラスへの使用が挙げられる。複層 ガラスとは、一般的に 2枚以上のガラスパネルからなり、その間にスぺーサーを入れ て間隔が保たれるようにしたガラスである。複層ガラスでは、スぺーサ一とガラスの間 等にシーリング材が施工され、ガラスパネル間は、乾燥空気、窒素、アルゴンゃ六フ ッ化硫黄といった気体で満たされており、これにより、断熱性、遮音性、結露防止など の効果が得られることとなる。
[0004] 複層ガラスの構造はさまざまであり、その構造に応じて、種々のシーリング材がさまざ まな方法で施工される。このようなシーリング材としては、例えばホットメルト接着剤が 挙げられる。また、スぺーサ一としてホットメルトスぺーサ一を用いる場合もある。ホット メルト材を使用した複層ガラスの例としては、塩化ビュル樹脂や、イソブチレン系重合 体を主成分として構成されたホットメルトブチルなどの熱可塑性樹脂に乾燥剤を練り 込んだ材料をスぺーサ一とした複層ガラスが知られている(特許文献 1)。
[0005] 上記イソブチレン系重合体を主成分として構成されたホットメルトブチルは、気密性 や水密性を保持できるガスバリア性、耐候性、粘着性などの特性を有することから、 複層ガラス用シーリング材によく使用されている。具体的には、内部に乾燥剤を入れ たアルミスぺーサ一を用いる構造の複層ガラスにおいて、そのアルミスぺーサ一とガ ラスとの間の固定用の一次シール剤としてホットメルト塗布されて使われたり、またそ のアルミスぺーサ一の外部に二次シール剤としてホットメルト塗布されたりする例が挙 げられる。また最近では、このホットメルトブチルに乾燥剤を練り込んだ材料をそのま ま複層ガラスの片側の端部にホットメルト塗布し、熱可塑樹脂製スぺーサ一として用 レ、られてレ、る例もある。いずれの構成においても、ホットメルトブチルの担うべき役割 は、ガラスとの接着による気密性維持にある。し力 ながらその使用環境によっては 長期使用中にホットメルトブチルが破壊したり変形剥離したりすることによって、その 性能が維持出来ず、気密性が失われるケースがある。また、特に、高温条件下での 自重による変形(自重変形性)や、弾性や機械的強度の不足が問題となることがある

発明が解決しょうとする課題
[0007] 本発明の課題は、シーリング材、特に複層ガラス用ホットメルトシーリング材、および 複層ガラス用ホットメルトスぺーサ一として使用することが可能な樹脂組成物であって 、機械的強度と弾性に優れ、更に、高温条件下での自重による変形が小さい樹脂組 成物を提供することにある。
課題を解決するための手段
[0008] 本発明者らは、鋭意検討した結果、本発明を完成するに至った。
[0009] すなわち本発明は、イソブチレン系重合体 (A)、
芳香族ビニル系化合物を構成単量体とする重合体ブロック (bl)と、イソブチレン以 外の脂肪族炭化水素系化合物を構成単量体とする重合体ブロック (b2)とからなる芳 香族ビュル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B)、および、
充填材 (C)
力 なることを特徴とする樹脂組成物に関する。
[0010] 好ましい実施形態においては、上記芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B)の数 平均分子量は 30000〜300000である。

[0020] 以下に本発明を詳述する。
本発明に係る樹脂組成物は、イソブチレン系重合体 (A)、芳香族ビニル系化合物を 構成単量体とする重合体ブロック (bl)と、イソプチレン以外の脂肪族炭化水素系化 合物を構成単量体とする重合体ブロック (b2)とからなる芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性ェ ラストマー(B)、および、充填材 (C)からなる。
[0021] 本発明に係る組成物においては、イソブチレン系重合体 (A)により、ホットメルト接着 性が付与される。また、芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B)は、芳香族ビニル 系化合物ブロックを有していることに由来する剛性を有していることが特徴であり、他 の熱可塑性エラストマ一を用いた場合と比較して、組成物の水密性ゃ気密性を損な わないばかりでなぐ高温条件下で自重変形しないという利点がある。更に、充填材( C)により、剛性が付与される。
[0022] イソブチレン系重合体 (A)としては、ポリイソブチレン、ポリブテン、ブチルゴム等とし て通常市販されている多くの商品がこれに相当する。具体的には EXXON製ビスタ ネックス(LM _ MS、 MH、 Hまたは MML _ 80、 100、 120、 140等)、新日本石油 製テトラックス(3T、 4Τ、 5Τ、 6Τ等)、ポリブテン(HV)ハイモール(4Η、 5Η、 6Η等) 、および BASF製オノ ノーノレ(Β 10、 Β 12、 Β 15、 Β50、 Β80、 Β 100、 Β120、 B150 、 Β220等)、 EXXON製 BUTY"007、 065、 068、 168、 268、 269、 365)など力 S 例示できる。特に限定するものではないが、十分なホットメルト性を付与するためには 、重合体中にイソブチレンを構成単量体として、重合体 100重量部あたり 50重量部 以上有するのが好ましぐ 80重量部以上含有するのがより好ましぐ 90重量部以上 含有するのが更に好ましい。イソブチレン系重合体 (A)に含有されるイソブチレン以 外の単量体としては、カチオン重合可能な単量体成分であれば特に限定されないが 、芳香族ビニル類、脂肪族ォレフイン類、脂環式アルケン類、ジェン類、ビュルエー テル類、 β ピネン等の単量体が例示できる。これらは単独で用いてもよいし、 2種 以上組み合わせて用いてもょレ、。

[0024] 上記脂肪族ォレフイン類としては、エチレン、プロピレン、 1—ブテン、 2 _メチル _ 1 —ブテン、 3 _メチル _ 1—ブテン、ペンテン、へキセン、 4 _メチル _ 1 _ペンテン、 オタテン等が挙げられる。また上記脂環式アルケン類としては、シクロへキセン、ビニ ルシクロへキサン、ノルボルネン等が挙げられる。これらは単独で用いてもよいし、 2 種以上組み合わせて用いてもょレ、。
[0025] 上記ジェン類としては、ブタジエン、イソプレン、へキサジェン、シクロペンタジェン、 シクロへキサジェン、ジシクロペンタジェン、ジビニルベンゼン、ェチリデンノルボルネ ン等が挙げられる。これらは単独で用いてもよいし、 2種以上組み合わせて用いても よい。

[0027] イソブチレン系重合体 (A)の数平均分子量は、特に制限はないが、 1000〜30000 0カ好ましく、特に 10000〜100000カ好ましレヽ。
[0028] 本発明においては、各重合体の数平均分子量はゲルパーミエーシヨンクロマトグラフ ィー(GPC)によってポリスチレン換算で求めた値であり、例えば、 Waters社製 GPC システム(カラム:昭和電工(株)製 Shodex K_ 804 (ポリスチレンゲル)、移動相:ク ロロホルム)を使用することにより測定することができる。
[0029] 芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(Β)中の重合体ブロック (bl)を構成する芳香 族ビニル系化合物としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、芳香族ビニル類として既 に例示した各化合物が挙げられる。
[0030] 芳香族ビニル系化合物を構成単量体とする重合体ブロック (bl)は、芳香族ビニル系 化合物以外の単量体を含んでいても、含んでいなくてもよい。芳香族ビュル系化合 物以外の単量体を含む場合には、高温条件下での自重変形性を十分小さくするた めには、重合体ブロック(bl)全体のなかで芳香族ビニル化合物由来の単量体単位 が 60重量%以上を占めることが好ましぐ 80重量%以上を占めることがより好ましレ、 。重合体ブロック(bl)全体のなかで芳香族ビニル系化合物由来の単量体単位が 60 重量%未満の場合、重合体ブロックの凝集力が低下するため好ましくない。芳香族 ビニルイ匕合物以外の単量体としては、芳香族ビニル化合物と重合可能な単量体であ れば特に限定されないが、例えば、上記の脂肪族ォレフイン類、脂環式アルケン類、 ジェン類、ビュルエーテル類、 β—ビネン等の単量体が例示できる。これらは単独で 用いてもょレ、し、 2種以上組み合わせて用いてもょレ、。
[0031] 芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(Β)中の重合体ブロック (b2)を構成するイソ ブチレン以外の脂肪族炭化水素系化合物としては、イソブチレンを除く脂肪族ォレフ イン類、ジェン類などが挙げられる。さらに本発明においては、「脂肪族炭化水素系 化合物」には脂環式アルケン類などの脂環式ィヒ合物も含むものとする。具体的には、 上述の脂肪族ォレフイン類、脂環式アルケン類、ジェン類等として例示した各化合物 が挙げられる。
[0032] イソプチレン以外の脂肪族炭化水素系化合物を構成単量体とする重合体ブロック (b 2)は、脂肪族炭化水素系化合物以外の単量体を含んでいてもよいし含んでいなくて もよい。脂肪族炭化水素系化合物以外の単量体を含む場合には、樹脂組成物中の イソブチレン系重合体 (A)との相溶性を上げるためには、重合体ブロック(b2)全体 のなかで脂肪族炭化水素系化合物が 60重量%以上を占めることが好ましぐ 80重 量%以上を占めることがより好ましい。重合体ブロック (b2)中の脂肪族炭化水素系 化合物以外の単量体としては、特に限定されないが、上記のビュルエーテル類等の 単量体が例示できる。
[0033] 芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B)の組成における上記重合体ブロック(b2) と上記重合体ブロック(bl)との重量比率は、特に制限はなレ、が、 (b2) / (bl) = 95 Z5〜50Z50力好ましく、 95Ζ5〜60/40力 Sさらに好ましレヽ。特に、高温条件下で の自重変形性を小さくするという観点から、 85Zl5〜65Z35が好ましい。
[0034] 芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(Β)の数平均分子量は、特に制限はないが、 30000〜300000力 S好ましい。特に、高温条件下での自重変形性の改善とホットメ ルト作業性の観点から、 50000〜150000カ 子ましレヽ。なお、上述の通り、本明細書 における数平均分子量は、ゲルパーミエーシヨンクロマトグラフィーにより、ポリスチレ ン換算で算出した値である。
[0035] 本発明に係る樹脂組成物における芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B)の割合 としては、特に制限はなレ、が、イソブチレン系重合体 (A) 100重量部に対し、好ましく は 1〜30重量部であり、さらに好ましくは 5〜20重量部である。芳香族ビニル系熱可 塑性エラストマ一(B)の割合が少ないと、高温条件下での自重変形性の改善効果が 小さぐ多すぎると、硬くなりすぎてホットメルトでのシール部の剥離が起こるなど、粘 着性が悪くなる。

[0037] 芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B)の組成は、入手性や高温での流動性の面 力 、スチレン系ブロックと、ブタジエンおよび/又はイソプレンのブロックよりなるプロ ック共重合体やその水素添加物が挙げられ、より具体的な例としては、 SBS (スチレ ン一ブタジエン スチレンブロック共重合体)、 SIS (スチレン イソプレン スチレン ブロック共重合体)、 SEBS (スチレン (エチレン/ブチレン) スチレンブロック共 重合体)、 SEPS (スチレン一(エチレン/プロピレン)一スチレンブロック共重合体)、 SEEPS (スチレン一 [エチレン一(エチレン/プロピレン) ]—スチレンブロック共重合 体)などが挙げられる。これらのうち、特に SEBS、 SEPS, SEEPSが好ましい。
[0038] 充填材(C)は、本発明の樹脂組成物の剛性を向上させる効果があり、また、使用温 度域での形状維持性を向上させ、またホットメルト時の垂れを抑制する効果を有する 。充填材(C)としては、特に制限はなく従来公知のものを使用することができる。例え ば、炭酸カルシウム、炭酸マグネシウム、溶融シリカ、結晶シリカ、珪藻土、クレー、タ ルク、雲母、カオリン、酸化チタン、酸化亜鉛、カーボンブラック、ベントナイト、水酸化 アルミニウム、水酸化マグネシウム、硫酸バリウム、硫酸カルシウム等よりなる群から選 択される少なくとも 1種を使用することができる。これらのうちで、炭酸カルシウム、カー ボンブラックが好ましぐ少量で剛性を向上させる効果を有するカーボンブラックが特 に好ましい。

[0040] 本発明に係る組成物は、さらに吸湿性化合物(D)を含有してレ、てもよレ、。吸湿性化 合物(D)としては、ゼォライト、シリカゲル、アルミナが例示でき、これらはそれぞれ単 独で、または 2種以上を組み合わせて使用することができる。このような吸湿性化合 物は、本発明に係る樹脂組成物の水蒸気透過率を減少させ、複層ガラスのガラス板 に挟まれた空隙部が湿気によって曇ることを防ぐことができる。吸湿性化合物 (D)の 配合量はイソブチレン系重合体 (A) 100重量部に対して 1〜100重量部であることが 好ましい。
[0041] 本発明に係る樹脂組成物には、物性を損なわない範囲で、さらに酸化防止剤、紫外 線吸収剤、光安定剤、顔料、界面活性剤、難燃剤等を適宜配合することができる。公 知のブロッキング防止剤、帯電防止剤、着色剤、無機ないし有機抗菌剤、滑剤なども 酉己合すること力 Sできる。

[0045] 以上のようにして得られた樹脂組成物は、高弾性かつ高機械的強度を有し、また高 温条件下での自重による変形が小さい。一方で、ガラスに対する施工、つまり、アプリ ケーターのような塗布機を想定した場合、剪断力が発生し、容易に流動することから 、例えば、シーリング材、特に複層ガラス用ホットメルトシーリング材として、あるいは複 層ガラス用ホットメルトスぺーサ一として好適に使用することが出来る。
発明の効果
[0046] 本発明に係る樹脂組成物は、高温条件下での自重による変形が小さぐまた従来の 組成物と比較して、高い弾性および機械的強度を有する。本発明に係る樹脂組成物 は、高い弾性や機械的強度、ガスバリア性等が要求されるシーリング材、特に複層ガ ラス用ホットメルトシーリング材として、あるいは複層ガラス用ホットメルトスぺーサ一と して好適に用いることができる。
発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0047] 以下に、実施例に基づき本発明を更に詳細に説明するが、本発明はこれらにより何 ら制限を受けるものではない。

PIB :ポリイソブチレン(BASF社製、商品名「ォパノール B 12」)
SEBS :スチレン一(エチレン/ブチレン)一スチレントリブロック共重合体(クレイトン ジャパン社製、商品名「クレイトン G1650J )
SEPS :スチレン (エチレン/プロピレン) スチレントリブロック共重合体(クラレ社 製、商品名「セプトン 2007」)
SEEPS :スチレン [エチレン (エチレン/プロピレン)] スチレントリブロック共重 合体 (クラレネ土製、商品名「セプトン 4033」)
炭酸カルシウム(白石カルシウム社製、商品名「ソフトン 3200」)
カーボンブラック(旭カーボン社製、商品名「旭カーボン # 60HN」)
シリカゲル (東ソ一シリカ社製、商品名「二ップジエル CX200J )
[0049] [自重変形性試験の方法]
まず、金型とプレス成形機 (設定温度 180°C)を用いて、得られた樹脂組成物を幅 20 mm X長さ 40mm X厚み 6mmのシートに成形した。幅 50mm X長さ 50mm X厚み 5 mmのガラス板を準備し、図 1のように、上記シートをガラス面に対し垂直に圧着させ た。シートを圧着させたガラス板を、台を用いて地面に対し垂直に固定して、 120°C の熱風乾燥機中で 12時間放置した。 12時間の試験後、図 2のように、上記シートの 下部の位置について、元の位置と加熱後の位置の距離 X (mm)を測定した。上記の 加熱試験後の距離 X (mm)の大きさにより、以下の基準で自重変形性を評価した。
〇:上記の加熱試験後の距離 X (mm)が lmm未満である。
△:上記の加熱試験後の距離 X (mm)が lmm以上、 3mm未満である。
X:上記の加熱試験後の距離 X (mm)が 3mm以上である。
[0050] [引張試験の試験方法]
JIS K 6251に準拠し、 2. Omm厚ミニダンベルを作製し、これを用いて引張り試験 を行った。この際、引張速度 500mm/分とした。

イソブチレン系重合体(BASF社製、ォパノール B12) 90重量部、スチレン (ェチレ ン /プロピレン)一スチレントリブロック共重合体(SEPS、セプトン 2007、クラレネ土製) 10重量部、炭酸カルシウム(ソフトン 3200、白石カルシウム社製) 40重量部、カーボ ンブラック(旭カーボン # 60HN、旭カーボン社製) 50重量部、シリカゲル (二ップジ エル CX200、東ソーシリカ社製) 10重量部をラボプラストミル (東洋精機製作所社製) にて、設定温度 170°Cの条件下で 10分間溶融混練し、樹脂組成物を得た。

表 1に示すように、芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B)として、スチレン— [ェ チレン一(エチレン Zプロピレン)]—スチレントリブロック共重合体(SEEPS、セプトン 4033、クラレ社製)を使用した以外は、実施例 1と同様にして、樹脂組成物を得た。こ の組成物を用いて、上記の方法で各種物性評価を行った。その結果を表 1に示す。

表 1に示すように、芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B)として、スチレン—(ェ チレン Zブチレン)一スチレントリブロック共重合体(SEBS、クレイトン G1650、クレイ トンジャパン社製)を使用した以外は、実施例 1と同様にして、樹脂組成物を得た。こ の組成物を用いて、上記の方法で各種物性評価を行った。その結果を表 1に示す。

表 1に示すように、イソブチレン系重合体 (A)と芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ 一(B)の割合が異なる以外は、実施例 1と同様にして、樹脂組成物を得た。この組成 物を用いて、上記の方法で各種物性評価を行った。その結果を表 1に示す。

実施例:!〜 3では、高温条件下での自重変形性が改善され、変形は確認されな力 た。
[0057] 一方、芳香族ビュル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B)が含まれていない比較例 1では、高 温条件下(120°C)での自重による変形が大きぐ 3mm以上の変形が確認された。

[0059] 以上のように、本発明に係る組成物は、機械的強度や弾性に優れるだけでなぐ特 に高温での自重変形性が小さいことがわかった。このような樹脂組成物は、シーリン グ材、特に複層ガラス用ホットメルトシーリング材、複層ガラス用ホットメルトスぺーサ 一に好適に使用できる。
産業上の利用可能性
[0060] 本発明の樹脂組成物は、シーリング材、特に複層ガラス用ホットメルトシーリング材、 複層ガラス用ホットメルトスぺーサ一に好適に使用できる。

請求の範囲
[1] イソブチレン系重合体 (A)、
芳香族ビニル系化合物を構成単量体とする重合体ブロック (bl)と、イソブチレン以 外の脂肪族炭化水素系化合物を構成単量体とする重合体ブロック (b2)とからなる芳 香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B)、および、
充填材 (C)
力 なることを特徴とする樹脂組成物。
[2] 前記芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B)の数平均分子量が 30000〜30000
0であることを特徴とする請求項 1に記載の樹脂組成物。
[3] 前記芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B)において、前記重合体ブロック (b2) と前記重合体ブロック(bl)の重量比が(b2) / (bl) = 95Z5〜50Z50であることを 特徴とする請求項 1または 2に記載の樹脂組成物。
[4] 前記芳香族ビニル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B) 、スチレン系熱可塑性エラストマ一 であることを特徴とする請求項 1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の樹脂組成物。
[5] 前記芳香族ビュル系熱可塑性エラストマ一(B) 、スチレン一(エチレン/プロピレン
)—スチレントリブロック共重合体、スチレン一(エチレン/ブチレン)一スチレントリブ ロック共重合体およびスチレン一 [エチレン一(エチレン/プロピレン) ]—スチレンブ ロック共重合体からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも 1種であることを特徴とする請求項 1
〜4のいずれか一項に記載の樹脂組成物。
[6] 前記充填材(C) 、炭酸カルシウムおよびカーボンブラックからなる群より選ばれる 少なくとも 1種であることを特徴とする請求項 1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の樹脂組 成物。
[7] 吸湿性化合物(D)をさらに含有することを特徴とする請求項 1〜6のいずれか一項に 記載の樹脂組成物。
[8] 吸湿性化合物(D)力 シリカゲル、アルミナおよびゼォライトからなる群より選ばれる 少なくとも 1種であることを特徴とする請求項 7に記載の樹脂組成物。
[9] 請求項 1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の樹脂組成物からなる、シーリング材。
[10] 請求項 1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の樹脂組成物からなる、複層ガラス用ホットメル トシ一リング材。
