Beschrieben wird ein p- oder n-leitendes Halbleitermaterial aus einer ternären Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel (I) PbxGeyTez (I), wobei die Indizes x, y und z einem der folgenden Verhältnisse entsprechen: (a) x = 1 - y; z = 1; 0,05 < y < 0,1; (b) z = 1 - y; x = 1; 0 < y < 0,1; (c) x = z = 1; 0 < y 0,05; (d) 0,8 ≤ x ≤1,2; 0 < y ≤ 0,05; 0,8 ≤ z ≤ 1,2.
