Abstract

[0017] BRを含有する場合、ゴム成分中の BRの含有率は 20重量%以上が好ましぐ 30重 量%以上がより好ましい。 BRの含有率が 20重量%未満では、耐屈曲疲労特性が低 下する傾向がある。また、 BRの含有率は 80重量%以下が好ましぐ 70重量%以下 力 り好ましい。 BRの含有率が 80重量%をこえると、加工性が低下する傾向がある。
[0018] 非金属短繊維としては、たとえば、グラスファイバー、カーボンファイバーなどの非 金属無機短繊維、レーヨン繊維、アクリル繊維、ポリエステル繊維、ナイロン繊維、芳 香族ポリアミド繊維、ウレタン繊維、ァラミド繊維などの非金属有機短繊維があげられ 、これらの非金属繊維は、単独で用いてもよぐ 2種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよ い。なかでも、引張方向にも、圧縮方向にも、剛性が高いという理由から、非金属無 機短繊維が好ましぐグラスファイバーがより好ましい。
[0019] 非金属短繊維の平均繊維径は 1 μ m以上、好ましくは 10 μ m以上である。非金属 短繊維の平均繊維径が 1 μ m未満では、複素弾性率が向上しないため、サイドゥォ ール補強層を薄くできず、乗り心地を向上させることができない。また、非金属短繊 維の平均繊維径は 100 m以下、好ましくは 50 m以下である。非金属短繊維の平 均繊維径が 100 /z mをこえると、非金属短繊維の分散性が悪化し、ゴムとの接着力 が低下する。
[0020] 非金属短繊維のゴム中における平均繊維長は 0. 1mm以上、好ましくは 0. 2mm 以上である。非金属短繊維のゴム中における平均繊維長が 0. 1mm未満では、非金
属短繊維を含有することによる配向方向の剛性向上の改善効果が不充分である。ま た、非金属短繊維のゴム中における平均繊維長は 20mm以下、好ましくは 10mm以 下である。非金属短繊維のゴム中における平均繊維長が 20mmをこえると、非金属 短繊維の分散性が悪化する。
[0021] 非金属短繊維の含有量は、ゴム成分 100重量部に対して 5重量部以上、好ましくは 10重量部以上である。非金属短繊維の含有量が 5重量部未満では、非金属短繊維 を含有することによる配向方向の剛性向上の改善効果が不充分である。また、非金 属短繊維の含有量は 120重量部以下、好ましくは 100重量部以下である。非金属短 繊維の含有量が 120重量部をこえると、加工性が悪化する。
[0022] 本発明のゴム組成物には、前記ゴム成分および非金属短繊維以外にも、従来ゴム 工業で使用される配合剤、たとえば、カーボンブラックなどの補強剤、ステアリン酸、 酸化亜鉛、各種老化防止剤、硫黄などの加硫剤、加硫促進剤などを、必要に応じて 適宜配合することができる。
[0023] 非金属短繊維は、サイドウォール補強層中でタイヤの周方向に配向させることによ り、タイヤの周方向の複素弾性率を向上させることができ、ランフラット性能を向上さ せることが可能となる。
[0024] 図 1は、サイド部補強ゴム層を有する本発明のランフラットタイヤの部分断面図であ る。前記サイド部補強用ゴム組成物は、ランフラットタイヤの部分断面図である図 1に 示すように、ランフラットタイヤ 1のサイド部補強ゴム層 2に用いる。サイド部補強ゴム層 2は、サイドウォール部 3に配置されることで、タイヤの剛性を向上させることができる。 サイド部補強ゴム層 2の配置形態としては、具体的には、カーカスプライ 4の内側に接 し、かつ、ビードエ一ペックス 5に隣接し、ビード部カもショルダー部にわたって配置さ れる両端方向に厚さを漸減する三日月状のゴム層があげられる。
[0025] 本発明のランフラットタイヤは、押出機で作製したサイドウォール補強ゴムの部材を 成型する他、ゴムストリップをタイヤ周方向に沿って巻きつけることで形成されるサイド ウォール補強ゴム層を加硫することにより得ることもできる。具体的には、必要に応じ て、前記配合剤を適宜配合したゴム組成物から、未加硫の状態で、所定サイズのゴ ムストリップを作製することで、前記非金属短繊維を一方向に配向させた未加硫のゴ
ムストリップを作製する。次に、未加硫カーカスの側面に、タイヤ軸を中心として渦巻 き状に巻きつけることにより未加硫サイドウォール補強層を形成し、さらに、他のタイヤ 部材とともに貼りあわせ、未加硫タイヤを形成し、該未加硫タイヤを加硫することによ り、本発明のランフラットタイヤが得られる。
[0026] 前記方法で本発明のランフラットタイヤを製造することで、前記非金属繊維をタイヤ 周方向に配向させることができる。
[0027] 前記ゴムストリップの幅は 0. 5cm以上が好ましぐ 1cm以上がより好ましい。ゴムスト リップの幅が 0. 5cm未満では、生産性に劣る傾向がある。また、ゴムストリップの幅は 5cm以下が好ましぐ 3cm以下がより好ましい。ゴムストリップの幅が 5cmをこえると、 精度よくサイドウォール補強層を形成させることが困難なため、均一性に劣る傾向が ある。
[0028] 前記ゴムストリップの厚さは 0. 5mm以上が好ましぐ 1mm以上がより好ましい。ゴム ストリップの厚さが 0. 5mm未満では、生産性に劣る傾向がある。また、ゴムストリップ の厚さは 5mm以下が好ましぐ 3mm以下がより好ましい。ゴムストリップの厚さが 5m mをこえると、ストリップ間の段差が大きくなり、均一性に劣る傾向がある。
[0029] 前記製造方法で製造された本発明のランフラットタイヤは、非金属短繊維をタイヤ の周方向に配向させることが可能となり、それにより、弾性率を向上させることができ、 また、弾性率が向上した分サイドウォール部補強層の厚さを薄くすることができること から、ランフラット耐久性および乗り心地をともに向上させることができる。
[0030] 本発明のランフラットタイヤのサイドウォール補強層のタイヤの周方向の複素弹性 率 (E1)は、 12MPa以上が好ましぐ 15MPa以上がより好ましぐ 20MPa以上がさら に好ましい。 E1が 12MPa未満では、ランフラット性能の改善効果が不十分である傾 向がある。また、 E1は 150MPa以下が好ましぐ 120MPa以下がより好ましい。 E1が 150MPaをこえると、サイドウォール部の柔軟性がなくなり、乗り心地が悪化する傾向 がある。
[0031] また、本発明のランフラットタイヤのサイドウォール補強層のタイヤの径方向の複素 弾性率 (E2)は 8MPa以上が好ましぐ lOMPa以上がより好ましい。 E2が 8MPa未 満では、ランフラット走行する際に必要な剛性が得られず、耐久性が低下する傾向が
ある。また、 E2は lOOMPa以下が好ましぐ 80MPa以下がより好ましい。 E2力 100 MPaをこえると、サイドウォール部の柔軟性がなくなり、乗り心地が悪化する傾向があ る。
[0032] また、 E1および E2は、下記式を満たすことが好ましい。

[0033] E1ZE2は 1. 5以上が好ましく 1. 8以上がより好ましい。 E1ZE2が、 1. 5未満で は、ランフラット耐久性および乗り心地を同時に向上させることが難しい傾向がある。
[0034] また、 E2および本発明のランフラットタイヤのサイドウォーノレ補強層のサイドウォー ル補強層の厚さ方向の損失弾性率 (E2")は、下記式を満たすことが好ましい。

[0035] E2"/ (E2) 2は 7. O X 10— 9Pa— 1以下が好ましく 6. O X 10— 9Pa— 1以下がより好ましい。
E2"/ (E2) 2が 7. 0 X 10— 9Pa— 1をこえると、ランフラット走行時に、変形によって発熱 しゃすぐゴムの熱劣化を促進し、破壊に至ってしまう傾向がある。
[0036] 具体的には、 El、 E2および E2"は、サイドウォール補強層から、所定の大きさの試 験片を切り出し、(株)岩本製作所製の粘弾性スぺクトロメータを用いて測定する方法 などがあげられる。
[0037] サイドウォール補強層の厚さは 3mm以上が好ましぐ 4mm以上がより好ましい。サ イドウォール補強層の厚さが 3mm未満では、ランフラット走行時の剛性が確保できず 、耐久性が低下する傾向がある。また、サイドウォール補強層の厚さは 15mm以下が 好ましぐ 12mm以下がより好ましい。サイドウォール補強層の厚さが 15mmをこえる と、質量が重くなり、乗り心地が低下する傾向がある。

[0038] 実施例に基づいて、本発明を具体的に説明するが、本発明はこれらのみに限定さ れるものではない。
[0039] 次に、実施例および比較例で使用した各種薬品をまとめて説明する。
天然ゴム(NR): RSS # 3
ブタジエンゴム(BR):宇部興産(株)製の VCR412 (SPB含有 BR、 SPBの含有率: 12重量%、 SPBの平均粒子径: 250nm)
カーボンブラック:三菱化学 (株)製のダイアブラック E (N550)
グラスファイバー A:ェヌエスジ^ ~ ·ヴエトロテックス(株)製のマイクログラスチョップドス トラント(平均線維径: 33 m、平均繊維長: 6mm)
グラスファイバー B:ェヌエスジ^ ~ ·ヴエトロテックス(株)製のマイクログラスチョップドス トラント(平均繊維径: 11 m、平均繊維長: 6mm)
カーボンファイバー:(株)クレハ製のタレ力チョップ C 106T (平均繊維径: 18 μ m、 平均繊維長: 6mm)
ステアリン酸:日本油脂 (株)製のステアリン酸「椿」
酸化亜鉛:三井金属鉱業 (株)製の酸化亜鉛 2種
老化防止剤:住友ィ匕学 (株)製のアンチゲン 6CN— (1, 3 ジメチルブチル)—N,一 フエ-ルー p フエ-レンジァミン)
不溶性硫黄:四国化成工業 (株)製のミュークロン OT
加硫促進剤:大内新興化学工業 (株)製のノクセラー NS (N— tert ブチル 2—べ ンゾチアゾリルスルフェンアミド)
[0040] 実施例 1〜4、比較例 1および 2
表 1に示す配合処方にしたカ^、、バンバリ一ミキサーを用いて、硫黄および加硫促 進剤以外の薬品を 160°Cの条件下で 5分間混練りし、混練り物を得た。次に、得られ た混練り物に硫黄および加硫促進剤を添加し、バンバリ一ミキサーを用いて、 120°C の条件下で 2分間混練りし、未加硫ゴム組成物を得た。さらに、未加硫ゴム組成物を 、幅 3cm、厚さ lmmのテープ形状に押出し、ランフラットタイヤのサイドウォール補強 層の形状に螺旋状に巻き付け、他のタイヤ部材とともに貼り合わせ、未加硫タイヤを 形成し、 165°Cの条件下で 20分間プレス加硫することで、実施例 1〜4、比較例 1お よび 2のランフラットタイヤ(タイヤサイズ: 245/40ZR18)を製造した。
[0041] (粘弾性試験)
製造したランフラットタイヤのサイドウォール補強層から、所定サイズのゴム試験片を 切り出し、(株)岩本製作所製の粘弾性スぺクトロメータを用いて、初期歪 10%、動歪 1%、振動周波数 10Hzおよび温度 70°Cの条件下で、タイヤの周方向の複素弾性率 (E1)ならびにタイヤの径方向の複素弾性率 (E2)およびその損失弾性率 (E2")を
測定し、さらに、 E1ZE2および E2,,Z(E2)2を算出した。
[0042] (ランフラット性能)
空気内圧を OkPaにし、ドラム上を 80kmZhで走行させ、タイヤが破壊されるまでの 走行距離を測定し、比較例 1のランフラット性能指数を 100とし、下記計算式により、 各配合の走行距離を指数表示した。ランフラット性能指数が大きいほど、ランフラット 耐久性に優れることを示す。
(ランフラット性能指数) = (各配合の走行距離)
÷ (比較例 1の走行距離) X 100

製造した試験用タイヤを車に装着させ、テストコースにて走行し、その際の乗り心地 の評価を行なった。なお、評価は 10点満点で行い、 3人のテストドライバーの評点の 平均値を算出した。

本発明のランフラットタイヤは、ジェン系ゴムおよび所定の非金属短繊維を所定量 含有したゴム組成物を用いて、該非金属短繊維がタイヤの周方向に配向したサイド ウォール補強層を有することで、乗り心地およびランフラット性能をともに向上させるこ とがでさる。
Claims
[1] ジェン系ゴム 100重量部に対して、
平均繊維径が 1〜: LOO /z mであり、平均繊維長が 0. l〜20mmである非金属短繊維 を 5〜120重量部含有するゴム組成物を用いたサイドウォール補強層であって、非金 属短繊維がタイヤの周方向に配向したサイドウォール補強層を有するランフラットタイ ャ。
[2] サイドウォール補強層において、 70°Cで測定したタイヤの周方向の複素弾性率 E1 、ならびにタイヤの径方向の複素弾性率 E2およびその損失弾性率 E2"が下記式: El≥12MPa
El/E2≥l. 5
E2"/ (E2) 2≤7. 0 X 10— 9Pa
を満たす請求の範囲第 1項記載のランフラットタイヤ。
[3] 非金属短繊維がグラスファイバーまたはカーボンファイバーである請求の範囲第 1 項または第 2項記載のランフラットタイヤ。
