Abstract

L'invention concerne des procédés et un appareil permettant de fournir des actifs multimédia sur un réseau. Le procédé de l'invention consiste à produire de premières métadonnées correspondant à un premier contenu vidéo, lesquelles métadonnées contiennent un texte décrivant les contenus qui seront affichés lors de la lecture du contenu vidéo, et un pointeur dirigé vers un emplacement d'un fichier vidéo correspondant au premier contenu vidéo. Le pointeur comprend au moins deux éléments parmi les éléments suivants: un emplacement de début, un emplacement de fin et une durée. Les premières métadonnées sont transmises pour être reçues par un système client capable d'afficher le premier contenu vidéo. Le système client affiche des parties du texte des premières métadonnées à l'intention d'un utilisateur du système client, et utilise le pointeur des premières métadonnées pour faciliter la demande du premier contenu vidéo en provenance d'un serveur vidéo destiné à transmettre les contenus vidéo sur le réseau.
