Abstract

Cette invention concerne des compositions et des procédés permettant de prévenir, de traiter ou de gérer l'ostéoporose ou des états qui se caractérisent par une augmentation de la résorption osseuse, lesquels procédés comprennent l'administration d'une quantité efficace d'un point de vue prophylactique et thérapeutique de la plante glycyrrhiza glabra ou d'extraits de celle-ci à un mammifère nécessitant un tel traitement. De préférence, le mammifère est un humain et les compositions comprennent un extrait unique ou une combinaison d'extraits. Cette invention concerne également des extraits isolés à partir de différentes parties de la plante glycyrrhiza glabra, la préparation de tels extraits, les médicaments contenant ces extraits ainsi que l'utilisation de ces extraits et constituants pour la préparation d'un médicament. La présente invention concerne également un procédé permettant de préparer les extraits provenant de différentes parties de la plante glycyrrhiza glabra.
