- U200601359 discloses a system very similar to that of the present invention consisting of a wrap sleeve capable of embracing the tubes to be joined, which has a central inclined cut that extends into two extreme longitudinal cuts , of greater separation, such that when the edges of the central inclined cut are in contact, the edges of the extreme longitudinal cuts are still separated.
- This system greatly improves the tightness but presents difficulties when fully absorbing, in the sealed area, the deformations or differences between the two tubes that are intended to be coupled.
- US2004222633 patent discloses a clamp that has a wrap ring with two wedges that fit into their housings to prevent leakage of pipes with nominal and identical diameters. This system offers the problem of ensuring the tightness and avoiding leaks when two tubes of different diameters are intended to be joined since contact surface between the wedge and its housing is lost, causing leaks.
- the device of the invention comprises a wrap sleeve capable of embracing the tubes to be joined and having a special configuration consisting of a longitudinal cut with two central triangular wedges, in which interior there is no material, attached to the sleeve through a neck in the Ia base of the wedge and two triangular housings in the opposite area that the triangular wedges receive at the time of tightening.
- the sealing occurs in the contact area thereof and it is the neck of the wedge that deforms to adapt to the differences in diameters of the tubes to be coupled.
