Abstract

 インバータ回路7の、スイッチ素子11とこれに並列接続された還流ダイオード12とを含むスイッチ部13のいずれかの短絡故障状態の発生が、電動機1の運転中に検知されたとき、短絡故障状態が発生したスイッチ部13が正極側か負極側かを判断する。短絡故障状態が発生したスイッチ部13と同極側の全てのスイッチ部13を導通状態とし、異なる極側の全てのスイッチ素子11を遮断状態にするように、スイッチ素子11を制御する。これにより、インバータ回路のスイッチ部の短絡故障状態が発生したときに、電動機とインバータ回路との間の通電を遮断するためスイッチなどを必要とすることなく、インバータ回路の各スイッチ部に大きな電流が流れるのを防止する。
