Abstract

本発明の液晶表示装置10の製造方法は、複数色の色部46からなるカラーフィルタ42に色欠陥が発生した場合に、その色欠陥を修正する色欠陥修正工程を含み、前記色欠陥修正工程は、一対のガラス基板31,41のうち、少なくとも一方のガラス基板41において、前記色欠陥の原因となる色欠陥発生部Xの当該ガラス基板41に対する投影と重なる修正位置を特定する工程と、特定した前記ガラス基板41における前記修正位置に、前記色欠陥発生部Xが含まれる前記色部46が呈する色に対応する金属イオン60をドープするドーピング工程と、前記ドープした金属イオン60にフェムト秒オーダー以下のパルス幅のレーザーを照射して、当該修正位置を前記色欠陥発生部Xが含まれる前記色部46と同色を呈する有色部61を形成する有色部形成工程とを有することを特徴とする。
