Abstract

L'invention concerne un élément filtrant (1), en particulier un filtre à air pour un véhicule automobile, comprenant une chambre interne (2) qui présente une périphérie (U) et une étendue longitudinale (L). La chambre intérieure (2) est entourée, le long de la périphérie (U), d'un matériau filtrant perméable aux fluides plié longitudinalement essentiellement le long de l'étendue longitudinale (L). Au moins une sélection de bords (3) des pliures longitudinales (18) sont attachés les uns par rapport aux autres par des moyens de fixation (4) disposés sur les bords de pliure (3). L'élément filtrant (1) peut être écrasé et/ou étendu de manière réversible à travers diverses pliures transversales (3) du matériau filtrant, au moins dans l'étendue longitudinale (6), les pliures transversales (3) étant formées dans un angle permanent par rapport au sens de l'étendue longitudinale (6), des moyens de fixation (7) étant prévus pour fixer un espace entre au moins une sélection de bords (12) de la pliure transversale (3).
