Abstract

 本発明のポリイミド繊維集合体は、平均繊維径が1μmを超え100μm以下の範囲内のポリイミド繊維から成り、湾曲した形状を有するポリイミド繊維を含み、嵩密度が1kg/m3以上30kg/m3以下の範囲内である。これにより、断熱性能及び吸音特性に優れ、重量が軽いポリイミド繊維集合体を実現することができる。本発明のポリイミド繊維集合体は、ポリアミド酸若しくはポリイミドを有機溶剤に溶解した高分子樹脂溶液を吐出する吐出工程と、上記吐出方向と交差する方向からの気体による外力により、吐出した上記高分子樹脂溶液を当該外力の方向に飛行させ、高分子樹脂溶液に含まれる有機溶剤を蒸発させながら高分子樹脂を紡糸して繊維状に成形する成形工程と、を含む製造方法により得ることができる。
