  • Milling of gears is generally performed with a package of several disk shaped cutter bodies. Each cutter body is equipped with a large number of left and right hand inserts tangentially mounted. The shape of the inserts is designed according to the shape of the gears to be machined. First the roughing operation is performed and if nessesary a finishing operation is performed in order to obtain desired surface quality.

Abstract

La présente invention porte sur un insert de coupe destiné au fraisage d'alliages coulés d'acier à faible teneur en carbone, comprenant un substrat de carbure cémenté et un revêtement. Le carbure cémenté est composé de 9-11 % en poids de Co, 10-14 % en poids de TaC, 2-5 % en poids de NbC, 3-6 % en poids de TiC, le reste étant du WC d'une valeur anHc de 12,8-15,2 kA/m et d'une dureté HV3 de 1425-1575. Le revêtement est constitué d'une multicouche apériodique (Ti, Al)N consistant en une structure binaire A/B/A/B/A/B à sous-couches alternées minces A et B qui se répètent dans tout le revêtement, l'épaisseur de chaque séquence A/B étant de 30-300 nm, la sous-couche A consistant en AlxTi1-xN, où x est 0,40-0,7 ; la sous-couche B consistant en TiyAl1-yN, où y est 0,6-1, une composition moyenne du revêtement de TizAl1-zN avec z = 0,40-0,7 et une couche de TibAl1-bN, b = 0,8-0,9, d'épaisseur suffisante pour donner un aspect épais de couleur de bronze homogène, visible et l'épaisseur totale de revêtement étant de 2-6 mm sur la ligne de contour.
