Abstract

 行および列方向に並ぶ画素領域(5L・5R・5M)と、互いに直交する走査信号線(16α・16β)およびデータ信号線(Sp・Sq・sp・sq)と、走査信号線を覆うゲート絶縁膜と、データ信号線を覆う層間絶縁膜とを備え、行方向に隣接する2つの画素領域(5L・5R)の間隙と重なるように2本のデータ信号線(Sq・sp)が設けられたアクティブマトリクス基板であって、層間絶縁膜には、2本のデータ信号線(Sq・sp)の間隙と重なるように刳り貫き部Kが形成され、該刳り貫き部Kの一部がゲート絶縁膜を介して走査信号線(16α・16β)に重なる。上記構成によれば、隣り合う2つの画素領域の間隙と重なるように2本のデータ信号線が設けられるアクティブマトリクス基板において、該2本のデータ信号線が走査信号線上において残留物により短絡しても、これら配線を剥き出しにすることなく短絡を解消することができる。
