Description

スクリュー及び射出装置
 本発明は、スクリュー及び射出装置に関するものである。
 従来、成形機、例えば、射出成形機においては、加熱シリンダ内において加熱され溶融させられた成形材料としての樹脂を、高圧で射出して金型装置のキャビティ空間に充填し、該キャビティ空間内において冷却して固化させることによって成形品が得られるようになっている。
 そのために、前記射出成形機は金型装置、型締装置及び射出装置を有し、前記型締装置は、固定プラテン及び可動プラテンを備え、型締用シリンダが可動プラテンを進退させることによって金型装置の型閉じ、型締め及び型開きが行われる。
 一方、前記射出装置は、一般に、インラインスクリュー方式のものが使用され、ホッパから供給された樹脂を加熱して溶融させる加熱シリンダ、及び溶融させられた樹脂を射出する射出ノズルを備え、前記加熱シリンダ内にスクリューが回転自在に、かつ、進退自在に配設される。そして、該スクリューを、後端に連結された駆動装置によって前進させることにより射出ノズルから樹脂が射出され、前記駆動装置によって後退させることにより樹脂の計量が行われる。
 図1は従来の射出装置の要部を示す断面図、図2は従来の射出装置内において樹脂が溶融する状態を示す概念図、図3は従来のスクリューにおける溝の展開距離を説明する図である。
 図において、11は加熱シリンダであり、該加熱シリンダ11の前端に射出ノズル12が取り付けられ、加熱シリンダ11の外周を包囲して、加熱シリンダ11を加熱するためのヒータh1~h3が配設される。また、前記加熱シリンダ11内には、スクリュー14が回転自在に、かつ、進退自在に配設される。そして、該スクリュー14は、フライト形成部15及び射出部16から成り、後端の軸部21及びカプラ22を介して、図示されない駆動装置と連結される。前記射出部16は、ヘッド部41、該ヘッド部41の後方に形成されたロッド部42、該ロッド部42の周囲に配設された逆止リング43、及びフライト形成部15の前端に取り付けられたシールリング44から成る。なお、前記ヘッド部41、ロッド部42等によってスクリューヘッドが構成される。また、逆止リング43及びシールリング44は、射出工程時に、樹脂が逆流するのを防止する逆流防止装置として機能する。前記駆動装置は、射出用モータ及び計量用モータから成る。そして、前記フライト形成部15は、棒状の本体部分、及び該本体部分の外周面に形成された螺旋状のフライト23を備え、該フライト23に沿って螺旋状の溝24が形成される。
 前記加熱シリンダ11の後端の近傍には樹脂供給口25が形成され、該樹脂供給口25に漏斗状のホッパ26が配設される。そして、該ホッパ26に収容された樹脂は、樹脂供給口25を介して加熱シリンダ11内に供給される。
 前記樹脂供給口25は、スクリュー14を加熱シリンダ11内における最も前方の位置、すなわち、前進限位置に置いた状態において、前記溝24の後端部と対向する箇所に形成される。また、前記フライト形成部15には、後方から前方にかけて、樹脂供給口25を介してホッパ26から樹脂が供給される供給部P1、供給された樹脂を圧縮させながら溶融させる圧縮部P2、及び溶融させられた樹脂を一定量ずつ計量する計量部P3が順に形成される。
 前記構成の射出装置において、計量工程時に、前記計量用モータを駆動することによって前記スクリュー14を回転させると、前記ホッパ26から加熱シリンダ11内に供給された樹脂は、前記溝24に沿って、供給部P1、圧縮部P2及び計量部P3を順に経て前進させられ、その間にヒータh1~h3によって加熱され、さらに、加熱シリンダ11の内周面と溝24との間に形成された空間(剪断空間)において剪断力を受けて発熱(以下「剪断発熱」という。)し、溶融させられ、それに伴供給部P1って、スクリュー14が後退させられる。
 そして、該スクリュー14が後退するのに伴って、前記逆止リング43はロッド部42に対して相対的に前方に移動させられるので、フライト形成部15の前端に到達した樹脂
は、ロッド部42と逆止リング43との間の樹脂流路を通り、スクリューヘッドの前方に送られる。したがって、スクリュー14が加熱シリンダ11内における最も後方の位置、すなわち、後退限位置に置かれた状態で、スクリューヘッドの前方に1ショット分の溶融させられた樹脂が溜められる。
 次に、射出工程時に、前記射出用モータを駆動することによってスクリュー14を前進させると、前記スクリューヘッドの前方に溜められた樹脂は、前記射出ノズル12から射出され、図示されない金型装置のキャビティ空間に充填される(例えば、特許文献1参照。)。

 しかしながら、前記従来の射出装置においては、樹脂供給口25を介して供給された樹脂が、図2に示されるように、溝24内を矢印方向に前進させられる間に凝集し、メルトプールr内に、複数の樹脂のペレット19から成るソリッドベッドbが形成されてしまう。
 該ソリッドベッドbは、複数のペレット19が溝24の深さ方向に重なることによって形成されるので、熱容量が大きくなり、しかも、外側に存在するペレット19には熱が伝達されやすいのに対して、内側に存在するペレット19には熱が伝達されにくく、ヒータh1~h3の熱がすべてのペレット19に対して効率よく伝達されない。したがって、すべてのペレット19を溶融させるのに必要な時間が長くなってしまう。その結果、図3に示されるように、ペレット19が完全に溶融するまでの溝24の展開距離L1が長くなってしまう。
 また、前記外側に存在するペレット19は十分に溶融させられるのに対して、内側に存在するペレット19は十分に溶融させられず、しかも、ソリッドベッドbが溝24内を前進するのに伴って、多くのペレット19が主として剪断発熱によって溶融させられるので、ペレット19を均一に溶融させることができない。したがって、成形品の品質が低下してしまう。
 そこで、溝24の深さ、すなわち、溝深さが小さくされ、かつ、フライト形成部15の前方の所定の範囲に、射出部16と隣接させて、樹脂流路を細くするための圧力部材を備えたスクリューが考えられる。
 その場合、フライト形成部15において、ソリッドベッドbが形成されるのを防止することができるので、熱容量が小さくなり、しかも、内側に存在するペレット19に熱が伝達されやすく、ヒータh1~h3の熱がすべてのペレット19に対して効率よく伝達される。したがって、すべてのペレット19を溶融させるのに必要な時間を短くすることができ、溝24の展開距離L1を短くすることができる。
 また、内側に存在するペレット19を十分に溶融させることができ、ペレット19は剪断発熱によって溶融させられることがなくなるので、樹脂を均一に溶融させることができる。
 ところが、溝深さが小さくされ、かつ、フライト形成部15の前方の所定の範囲に圧力部材を備えたスクリューを使用すると、溝深さが小さいので、樹脂供給口25を介して加熱シリンダ11内に供給されたペレット19の逃げ場がその分少なくなり、スクリューの回転に伴ってペレット19に加わる力が大きくなってしまう。
 その結果、ペレット19に剪断力が発生し、該剪断力が大きな面圧となってフライト23に加わると、スクリュー14が破損してしまうことがあり、射出装置の耐久性が低下してしまう。
 本発明は、前記従来の射出装置の問題点を解決して、成形材料を溶融させるのに必要な時間を短くすることができ、溝の展開距離を短くすることができるとともに、成形材料を均一に溶融させることができ、しかも、耐久性を向上させることができるスクリュー及び射出装置を提供することを目的とする。
  そのために、本発明のスクリューにおいては、シリンダ部材内で回転自在に配設され、後端が駆動装置に連結されるようになっている。
 そして、本体部分、及び該本体部分の外周面に突出させて形成されたフライトを備えたフライト形成部と、該フライト形成部より前方に配設され、平坦な外周面を備える圧力部材とを有する。
 また、前記フライト形成部の所定の区間において、前記フライトは複数のフライト部によって形成される。
 そして、成形材料供給点から前方にかけて設定された溝深さ設定領域において、成形材料の径をδ1とし、前記フライトに沿って形成された溝の溝深さをτ1としたとき、径δ1に対する溝深さτ1の比γ1は、

 本発明によれば、スクリューにおいては、シリンダ部材内で回転自在に配設され、後端が駆動装置に連結されるようになっている。

 また、成形材料流路において成形材料の流れに偏りが生じるのが防止されるので、成形材料の滞留が生じるのを防止することができ、成形材料に焼けが発生するのを防止することができる。したがって、成形品に成形不良が発生するのを防止することができる。

 以下、本発明の実施の形態について図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。この場合、成形機としての射出成形機について説明する。
 図4は本発明の第1の実施の形態における射出装置の要部を示す概念図、図5は本発明の第1の実施の形態における射出装置の要部を示す拡大図である。
 図において、31はインラインスクリュー方式の射出装置である。前記射出成形機は、図示されない金型装置、型締装置及び前記射出装置31を有し、前記金型装置は、第1の金型としての固定金型及び第2の金型としての可動金型を備え、前記型締装置は、前記固定金型が取り付けられた固定プラテン、及び可動金型が取り付けられた可動プラテンを備え、型締用シリンダが可動プラテンを進退させることによって金型装置の型閉じ、型締め及び型開きが行われる。
 前記射出装置31は、シリンダ部材としての加熱シリンダ17、該加熱シリンダ17の前端に取り付けられたノズル部材としての射出ノズル18、前記加熱シリンダ17内にお
いて、回転自在に、かつ、進退自在に配設された射出部材としての、かつ、計量部材としてのスクリュー20、前記加熱シリンダ17の外周に、加熱シリンダ17を包囲させて取り付けられた加熱部材としてのヒータh11~h13、前記加熱シリンダ17の後方に配設された図示されない駆動装置等を備える。加熱シリンダ17の内周面とスクリュー20との間に形成される空間は、ヒータh11~h13からの熱を樹脂に供給する熱供給空間として機能する。
 前記スクリュー20は、射出部材本体としてのスクリュー本体52、及び該スクリュー本体52より前方に配設された射出部46から成り、後端の軸部51を介して前記駆動装置と連結される。前記スクリュー本体52は、可塑化部としてのフライト形成部45、及び前端において、フライト形成部45に対して着脱自在に配設された混練部としての圧力部材54を備え、前記フライト形成部45は、棒状の本体部分45a、及び該本体部分45aの外周面に突出させて形成された螺旋状のフライト53を備え、該フライト53に沿って螺旋状の溝67が形成される。
 前記フライト53は、フライト形成部45における所定の区間において、本実施の形態においては、フライト形成部45の軸方向における全体にわたって、連続して螺旋状に巻回させて形成された突出片から成る複数の、本実施の形態においては、二つの第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bを備え、該第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bに沿って、前記溝67を構成する第1、第2の溝部67a、67bが形成される。すなわち、前記フライト53は、多条フライト、本実施の形態においては、ダブルフライトの構造を有する。なお、前記フライト形成部45において、フライト形成部45の全域、すなわち、前端から後端までの間において、前記第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bは一定のフライトピッチで形成されるとともに、第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bの外径であるフライト山径Di、及び本体部分45aの外径であるフライト谷径d1は一定にされ、第1、第2の溝部67a、67bは一定の深さで形成される。すなわち、前記第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bは、任意の軸方向の位置において等しい高さに形成されることになる。
 前記圧力部材54は、前記フライト形成部45の前端から前方の所定の範囲に、逆流防止装置62と隣接させて形成され、所定の距離にわたって、表面に平坦な領域を形成する。そして、前記圧力部材54は、前方ほど外径が大きくされ、円錐形の形状を有する第1の圧力部としての傾斜部71、及び該傾斜部71の前端に隣接させて、かつ、接続させて形成され、外径d2が軸方向において一定にされ、円柱状の形状を有する円柱部としての、かつ、第2の圧力部としての大径部72を有する。
 また、前記傾斜部71の後方に図示されないねじ部が形成され、前記フライト形成部45の前端面に開口させて図示されないねじ穴が形成される。したがって、前記ねじ部をねじ穴と螺合させることによって、前記圧力部材54をフライト形成部45に取り付けることができる。なお、本実施の形態において、前記圧力部材54は、フライト形成部45に対してねじ止めで固定されるようになっているが、ねじ止めに代えて溶接によって固定することもできる。
 前記傾斜部71の前端の外径は大径部72の外径d2と等しくされ、傾斜部71の後端の外径はフライト谷径d1と等しくされる。なお、本実施の形態において、傾斜部71の外周面は一定の傾きを有するが、必要に応じて、所定の関数で湾曲させることができる。
 また、前記傾斜部71と加熱シリンダ17との間に第1の成形材料流路としての樹脂流路73が、大径部72と加熱シリンダ17との間に第2の成形材料流路としての樹脂流路74が形成される。この場合、前述されたように、傾斜部71は、前方ほど外径が大きく
されるので、樹脂流路73の断面積は、前方ほど小さくされる。また、大径部72は、外径d2が軸方向において一定にされているので、樹脂流路74の断面積は軸方向において一定にされる。
 本実施の形態において、前記圧力部材54は、傾斜部71及び大径部72によって形成されるようになっているが、起伏のない傾斜部だけで形成することができる。その場合、前方ほど外径が大きくされ、圧力部材54の後端の外径は前記フライト谷径d1と等しくされ、圧力部材54の前端の外径は前記外径d2と等しくされる。
 一方、前記射出部46は、先端に円錐形の部位を備えたヘッド部55、該ヘッド部55の後方に隣接させて形成されたロッド部56、該ロッド部56の周囲に配設された逆止リング57、及びスクリュー本体52の前端に取り付けられたシールリング58から成る。前記ロッド部56と逆止リング57との間に第3の成形材料流路としての樹脂流路75が形成される。
 また、前記ロッド部56の後方に図示されないねじ部が形成され、前記圧力部材54の前端面に開口させて図示されないねじ穴が形成される。したがって、前記ねじ部をねじ穴と螺合させることによって、前記シールリング58を圧力部材54の前端に押し付けた状態で、射出部46をスクリュー本体52に取り付けることができる。なお、前記ヘッド部55、ロッド部56及びねじ部によって射出部材ヘッド部としてのスクリューヘッド61が、逆止リング57及びシールリング58によって、射出工程時に、樹脂が逆流するのを防止する逆流防止装置62が構成される。
 そして、計量工程時において、スクリュー20が後退させられるのに伴って、ロッド部56に対して逆止リング57が前方に移動させられ、シールリング58から離されると、樹脂流路74、75が連通させられ、逆流防止装置62によるシールが解除される。また、射出工程時において、スクリュー20が前進させられるのに伴って、逆止リング57がロッド部56に対して後方に移動させられ、シールリング58に当接させられると、樹脂流路74、75が遮断され、逆流防止装置62によるシールが行われる。
 そして、前記駆動装置は、計量用の駆動部としての計量用モータ、及び射出用の駆動部としての射出用モータを備える。
 前記加熱シリンダ17の後端の近傍の所定の位置には成形材料供給口としての樹脂供給口65が形成され、該樹脂供給口65は、スクリュー20を加熱シリンダ17内における前進限位置に置いた状態において、前記溝67の後端部と対向する箇所に形成される。
 そして、前記樹脂供給口65に、樹脂を投入するための成形材料供給装置としての投入部81が取り付けられ、該投入部81の上端に、樹脂を収容する成形材料収容部としてのホッパ82が取り付けられる。該ホッパ82に収容された樹脂は、前記投入部81を介して樹脂供給口65に送られ、該樹脂供給口65から加熱シリンダ17内に供給される。
 前記投入部81は、水平方向に延在させて配設されたシリンダ部83、該シリンダ部83の前端から下方に延在させて配設された筒状の案内部84、前記シリンダ部83内において回転自在に配設されたフィードスクリュー85、該フィードスクリュー85を回転させる供給用の駆動部としてのフィードモータ86、前記シリンダ部83の外周に配設された加熱部材としてのヒータh21等を備え、前記シリンダ部83は、後端において前記ホッパ82と連結され、前端において案内部84と連通させられる。
 したがって、前記フィードモータ86を駆動してフィードスクリュー85を回転させる
と、ホッパ82内の樹脂は、シリンダ部83内に供給され、フィードスクリュー85の外周面に形成された溝に沿って前進させられ、フィードスクリュー85の前端から案内部84内に送られ、該案内部84内を落下し、加熱シリンダ17内に供給される。このとき、各ペレット19は、一列になって案内部84内を落下し、樹脂供給口65を介して加熱シリンダ17内に供給される。
 該加熱シリンダ17における樹脂供給口65の近傍に、加熱シリンダ17、樹脂供給口65及び案内部84の下端部を包囲して、冷却装置としての環状の冷却ジャケット88が形成され、該冷却ジャケット88に冷却媒体としての水が供給される。したがって、該水によって、案内部84内を落下し、樹脂供給口65を介して加熱シリンダ17に供給される樹脂が溶融させられるのが防止される。
 そして、射出成形機を制御し、前記射出用モータ、計量用モータ、フィードモータ86等を駆動したり、ヒータh11~h13、h21を通電したりするために、図示されない制御部が配設され、該制御部は、演算装置としてのCPU、記録装置としてのメモリ等を備えるほかに、表示部、操作部等を備え、所定のプログラム、データ等に従って各種の演算を行い、コンピュータとして機能する。
 前記構成の射出装置31において、計量工程時に、前記フィードモータ86及び計量用モータを正方向に駆動することによって、前記フィードスクリュー85及びスクリュー20を正方向に回転させると、前記ホッパ82からシリンダ部83内に供給された樹脂は、前記フィードスクリュー85の溝に沿って前進させられ、その間に、予熱され、シリンダ部83の前端から案内部84内に供給され、樹脂供給口65を介して加熱シリンダ17内に供給される。なお、シリンダ部83内において樹脂は、溶融することがない温度、例えば、ガラス転移点以下の所定の温度に予熱される。
 そして、前記加熱シリンダ17内に供給された樹脂は、前記第1、第2の溝部67a、67bに沿って前進させられるとともに、前記ヒータh11~h13によって加熱され、溶融させられる。なお、樹脂は、圧力部材54より所定の距離だけ手前の、樹脂の圧力が上昇する点を表す圧力上昇開始点qt1からスクリュー本体52の前端にかけて前進させられるのに伴って、圧力が次第に高くされる。
 続いて、樹脂は、樹脂流路73を通過して、更に圧力が高くされた後、樹脂流路74を通過して前進させられ、その間に、十分に混練される。
 また、このとき、前記逆止リング57はロッド部56に対して相対的に前方に移動させられるので、樹脂流路74、75が連通させられ、樹脂流路74内の樹脂は、樹脂流路75を通り、スクリューヘッド61の前方に送られる。したがって、スクリュー20が加熱シリンダ17内における後退限位置に置かれた状態で、スクリューヘッド61の前方に1ショット分の溶融させられた樹脂が溜められる。なお、前記ヘッド部55に図示されない切欠が形成され、樹脂流路75とスクリューヘッド61の前方とが連通させられる。
 次に、射出工程時に、前記射出用モータを駆動して、スクリュー20を前進させると、前記スクリューヘッド61の前方に溜められた樹脂は、前記射出ノズル18から射出され、前記金型装置のキャビティ空間に充填される。
 ところで、前述されたように、スクリュー本体52には、前端から所定の範囲にわたって、前記逆流防止装置62と隣接させて、平坦な外周面を備えた圧力部材54が形成される。
 すなわち、樹脂供給口65から供給された樹脂は、計量工程において、スクリュー20が回転するのに伴って、第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bによって誘導され、第1、第2の溝部67a、67b内を前進させられるが、圧力部材54に到達すると、フライトが形成されていないので、フライトによる樹脂の誘導がされなくなり、前進する力が弱くなる。
 したがって、樹脂流路73、74内において樹脂の移動速度が低くなるので、圧力部材54は、後方から第1、第2の溝部67a、67b内を前進させられる樹脂に対して、前進を抑制する移動抑制部材として機能する。その結果、第1、第2の溝部67a、67b内の樹脂においては、前進するのが抑制されるので、前記圧力上昇開始点qt1より前方の領域において前方ほど圧力が高くされる。
 また、圧力部材54において、傾斜部71は、前方ほど外径が大きくされ、樹脂流路73の断面積は、前方ほど小さくされ、また、大径部72の外径d2は、フライト谷径d1より大きく、かつ、フライト山径Diより小さくされる。
 したがって、圧力部材54における移動抑制部材としての機能を一層高くすることができるので、前記圧力上昇開始点qt1より前方の領域における樹脂の圧力を一層高くすることができる。なお、径方向において本体部分45aの外周面からフライト53の外周縁までの距離をt1とすると、距離t1は、

になる。また、大径部72の外周面からフライト53の周縁までの距離をt2とすると、距離t1に対する距離t2の比t2/t1は1より小さくなる。
 その結果、スクリュー20を前進限位置に置いた状態で、樹脂供給口65の後端の位置に設定され、樹脂が供給される点を表す成形材料供給点qt2から前記圧力上昇開始点qt1までの領域が供給部P11を構成し、圧力上昇開始点qt1からフライト形成部45の前端にかけての領域が計量部(圧縮部)P12を構成し、フライト形成部45の前端から圧力部材54の前端にかけての領域が混練部P13を構成するので、従来の射出装置と同様の可塑化を行うことができ、十分に樹脂の混練性を良くすることができる。また、前記混練部P13において、溶融させられた後の樹脂の圧力を高くすることができるので、混練性を一層良くすることができる。
 そして、前記大径部72を形成するだけで、計量部P12における樹脂の圧力を高くすることができるので、フライト谷径d1をフライト形成部45の軸方向において変化させる必要がない。
 したがって、スクリュー20の形状を簡素化することができるので、スクリュー20のコストを低くすることができる。
 ところで、樹脂供給口65を介して供給された樹脂が、加熱シリンダ17内を前進させられる間に凝集し、複数の樹脂のペレット19から成るソリッドベッドb(図2参照)が形成されると、すべてのペレット19を完全に溶融させるのに時間がかかってしまう。
 そこで、本実施の形態においては、成形材料供給点qt2から前方にかけて、フライト形成部45の長さ方向における所定の区間に、ソリッドベッドbが形成されるのを防止するための溝深さ設定領域が設定され、該溝深さ設定領域においては、ペレット19の径(直径)をδ1としたとき、径δ1に対する溝67の溝深さτ1の比γ1

 本実施の形態において、ペレット19は球形の形状を有するが、球形以外の形状を有する場合、ペレット19の径δ1は、ペレット19の各部の径のうちの最大のもの、すなわち、最大径としたり、ペレット19の各部の径のうちの最小のもの、すなわち、最小径としたり、最大径と最小径との中間の値、例えば、平均値としたりすることができる。
 前記溝深さ設定領域は、ソリッドベッドbが形成されるのを防止することができるだけの軸方向長さにわたって設定されればよく、スクリュー20を前進限位置に置いたときの成形材料供給点qt2からフライト形成部45の前端までの区間、すなわち、フライト形成部の軸方向における全体にわたって形成されるのが好ましい。また、前記溝深さ設定領域を、成形材料供給点qt2から供給部P11の前端までの区間に設定したり、成形材料供給点qt2から樹脂が完全に溶融する箇所までの区間に設定したり、成形材料供給点qt2から、スクリューストロークの長さだけ前方に延びる区間に設定したりすることができる。
 なお、前記溝深さ設定領域を、スクリュー20の軸方向長さで表したり、溝67の長さで表したりすることができる。
 次に、樹脂が溶融する状態について説明する。
 図6は本発明の第1の実施の形態における樹脂が溶融する状態を示す概念図、図7は本発明の第1の実施の形態における射出装置の展開距離を説明する図である。
 図において、17は加熱シリンダ、20はスクリュー、53a、53bは第1、第2のフライト部、67aは第1の溝部、19はペレット、rは溶融した樹脂によって形成されたメルトプールである。
 前述されたように、比γ1が、
  1≦γ1≦2.5
にされ、好ましくは、
  1≦γ1≦2.0
にされるので、前記第1の溝部67aにおいて、二つのペレット19が溝67(図5)の深さ方向(径方向)に重なることがほとんどなくなる。したがって、各ペレット19は、凝集することなく、横に並んで第1の溝部67aに沿って実線矢印方向に前進させられる。また、前記射出装置31(図4)においては、スクリュー20を回転させたときに、溶融した樹脂が前進するように、加熱シリンダ17の内周面の摩擦係数がスクリュー20の外周面の摩擦係数より大きく設定されている。したがって、前記各ペレット19は、スクリュー20の回転に伴って、加熱シリンダ17の内周面との摩擦によって転がり(回転し)ながら第1の溝部67a内を前進させられる。
 このように、本実施の形態においては、前記各ペレット19によってソリッドベッドbが形成されることがなくなるので、複数のペレット19が第1の溝部67aの深さ方向に重なって形成されない。その結果、各ペレット19に熱が効率よく伝達されやすくなり、すべてのペレット19を溶融させるのに必要な時間を短くすることができる。そして、図
7に示されるように、樹脂が完全に溶融するまでの溝67の展開距離L2を短くすることができる。
 また、前記各ペレット19は、ヒータh11~h13の熱の伝達に伴って溶融させられ、剪断発熱によって溶融させられないので、樹脂を均一に溶融させることができる。
 そして、第1、第2の溝部67a、67bの溝深さが小さくされ、かつ、フライト形成部45の前端から前方の所定の範囲に、逆流防止装置62と隣接させて、樹脂流路74を狭くするための前記圧力部材54が配設される。
 したがって、各ペレット19は、加熱シリンダ17の内周面と接触しながら、かつ、転がりながら、第1、第2の溝部67a、67b内を前進するので、図6に示されるように、ヒータh11~h13の熱が、破線矢印で示されるように、加熱シリンダ17を介して転がり伝熱によって各ペレット19に伝達される。その結果、樹脂を効率よく、かつ、均一に加熱し、溶融させることができるので、成形品の品質を向上させることができる。
 図8は本発明の第1の実施の形態におけるソリッドベッドが形成されたかどうかの評価結果を示す図である。
 図において、×はソリッドベッドbが形成されたことを表し、○はソリッドベッドbが形成されなかったことを表す。
 図に示されるように、比γ1が1.0、2.0及び2.5である場合、ソリッドベッドbは形成されず、3.0及び3.5である場合にソリッドベッドbが形成された。
 ところで、前記構成の射出装置31においては、圧力部材54と加熱シリンダ17との間の樹脂流路74が狭くなるので、フライト形成部45の前端部、すなわち、計量部P13(図4)において樹脂の流れに偏りが生じると、前記樹脂流路74に樹脂を円滑に進入させることができない。そして、樹脂の流れに偏りが生じると、流速が低い部分で樹脂の滞留が生じ、樹脂に焼けが発生しやすくなり、成形品に成形不良が発生してしまう。
 また、前記構成の射出装置31においては、溝深さが小さくされるので、供給部P11において、樹脂供給口65を介して加熱シリンダ17内に供給されたペレット19の逃げ場がその分少なくなり、スクリュー20の回転に伴ってペレット19に加わる力が大きくなり、ペレット19に剪断力が発生し、発生した剪断力がスクリュー20のフライト53に加わってしまう。
 そこで、前述されたように、フライト53は、複数の、本実施の形態においては、二つの第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bを備え、該第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bに沿って第1、第2の溝部67a、67bが形成される。
 図9は本発明の第1の実施の形態における圧力部材に隣接する領域におけるスクリューの断面図である。なお、図9は図5のA-A断面図である。
 図において、20はスクリュー、45aは本体部分、53a、53bは第1、第2のフライト部、67a、67bは第1、第2の溝部である。
 この場合、第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bのうちの一方のフライト部間に他方のフライト部が形成され、溝67が第1、第2の溝部67a、67bに分割される。
 したがって、計量部P13において、フライト形成部45における樹脂の流れに偏りが生じるのを防止することができるので、前記樹脂流路74に進入する樹脂の流れを均一にすることができる。
 また、前記スクリュー20を矢印方向に回転させると、回転方向における第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bより下流側の近傍AR1において、樹脂の流速が高くなり、第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bより上流側の近傍AR2において、樹脂の流速が低くなるので、前記樹脂流路74において、流速が高くされた樹脂が十分に供給されるので、樹脂の流れに偏りが生じるのを防止することができる。
 その結果、樹脂の滞留が生じるのを防止することができるので、樹脂に焼けが発生するのを防止することができる。したがって、成形品に成形不良が発生するのを防止することができる。
 また、前記各第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bは一定のフライトピッチで形成されるので、第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bは、スクリュー20の軸方向における任意の位置において、円周方向において等ピッチ(180〔°〕の間隔)で位置させられる。しかも、前記スクリュー20の軸方向に任意の位置で第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bの高さは等しくされる。
 したがって、スクリュー20の重心は、スクリュー20の軸方向におけるいずれの位置においても中心に置かれるので、スクリュー20を高速で回転させても、スクリュー20に振動が発生することはない。その結果、成形サイクルを短くすることができる。
 また、第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bのうちの一方のフライト部間に他方のフライト部が形成され、溝67が第1、第2の溝部67a、67bに分割されるので、供給部P11において、ペレット19が樹脂供給口65を介して加熱シリンダ17内に供給されたときに、スクリュー20の全体に加わる力は、1条フライト、すなわち、一つのフライト部だけを備えたシングルフライトの構造を有するスクリューの全体に加わる力と同じであるが、各第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bに加わる面圧Pdは低くなり、次の式で表されるように、シングルフライトの構造を有するスクリューのフライトに加わる面圧Psの半分になる。

 したがって、スクリュー20が破損するのを防止することができ、射出装置31の耐久性を向上させることができる。
 また、フライト形成部45における樹脂の送り力を大きくすることができるので、スクリュー20における可塑化能力を向上させることができる。
 ところで、前記供給部P11においては、各ペレット19間の隙間が空気断熱層として機能するので、射出成形機の運転を開始した後、スクリュー20の温度が適正な温度に到達するのに必要な時間が長い場合、ペレット19に一層大きな剪断力が発生する。
 ところが、本実施の形態においては、前記溝67が第1、第2の溝部67a、67bに分割されるので、第1、第2の溝部67a、67bが空気断熱層として機能するのを抑制することができる。また、加熱シリンダ17と第1、第2のフライト部53a、53bとの接触面積が大きくなるので、ヒータh11~h13によって発生させられた熱をスクリュー20に効率よく伝達することができる。したがって、スクリュー20の温度が適正な温度に到達するのに必要な時間が短くなり、ペレット19に大きな剪断力が発生するのを
抑制することができる。
 次に、3個のフライト部によってフライトを形成するようにした本発明の第2の実施の形態について説明する。
 図10は本発明の第2の実施の形態におけるスクリューの断面図である。
 図において、20は射出部材としての、かつ、計量部材としてのスクリュー、45aは本体部分、153a~153cは第1~第3のフライト部、167a~167cは第1~第3の溝部である。
 この場合、第1~第3のフライト部153a~153cのうちの一つのフライト部間に他の二つのフライト部が形成され、各フライト部間が第1~第3の溝部167a~167cに分割される。したがって、可塑化部としてのフライト形成部45において樹脂の流れに偏りが生じるのを一層防止することができるので、計量部P13において、樹脂流路74(図5)に進入する樹脂の流れを一層均一にすることができる。
 また、前記スクリュー20を矢印方向に回転させると、前記樹脂流路74には、流速が高くされた樹脂が十分に供給されるので、樹脂流路74において樹脂の流れに偏りが生じるのを防止することができる。
 その結果、樹脂の滞留が生じるのを防止することができるので、樹脂に焼けが発生するのを防止することができる。したがって、成形品に成形不良が発生するのを防止することができる。
 また、前記第1~第3のフライト部153a~153cは、スクリュー20の軸方向におけるいずれの位置においても、円周方向において等ピッチ(120〔°〕の間隔)で位置させられる。したがって、スクリュー20の重心は、スクリュー20の軸方向におけるいずれの位置においても中心に置かれるので、スクリュー20を高速で回転させても、スクリュー20に振動が発生することはない。その結果、成形サイクルを短くすることができる。
 さらに、前記スクリュー20を矢印方向に回転させると、前記樹脂流路74には、流速が高くされた樹脂が十分に供給されるので、供給部P11においては、各第1~第3のフライト部153a~153cに加わる面圧Pdを一層低くすることができる。
  なお、本発明は前記各実施の形態に限定されるものではなく、本発明の趣旨に基づいて種々変形させることが可能であり、それらを本発明の範囲から排除するものではない。

Claims (10)

  1.  シリンダ部材内で回転自在に配設され、後端が駆動装置に連結されたスクリューにおいて、
    (a)本体部分、及び該本体部分の外周面に突出させて形成されたフライトを備えたフライト形成部と、
    (b)該フライト形成部より前方に配設され、平坦な外周面を備える圧力部材とを有するとともに、
    (c)前記フライト形成部の所定の区間において、前記フライトは複数のフライト部によって形成され、
    (d)成形材料供給点から前方にかけて設定された溝深さ設定領域において、成形材料の径をδ1とし、前記フライトに沿って形成された溝の溝深さをτ1としたとき、径δ1に対する溝深さτ1の比γ1は、
      1≦γ1≦2.5
    にされることを特徴とするスクリュー。
  2.  前記所定の区間はフライト形成部の供給部に設定される請求項1に記載のスクリュー。
  3.  前記所定の区間はフライト形成部の計量部に設定される請求項1に記載のスクリュー。
  4.  前記所定の区間はフライト形成部の軸方向における全体にわたって設定される請求項1に記載のスクリュー。
  5.  前記溝深さ設定領域は成形材料供給点から供給部の前端までの区間に設定される請求項1に記載のスクリュー。
  6.  前記溝深さ設定領域は成形材料供給点からスクリューストロークの長さだけ前方に延びる区間に設定される請求項1に記載のスクリュー。
  7.  前記溝深さ設定領域はフライト形成部の軸方向における全体にわたって設定される請求項1に記載のスクリュー。
  8.  前記各フライト部は等フライトピッチで形成される請求項1に記載のスクリュー。
  9.  前記各フライト部は任意の軸方向の位置において等しい高さに形成される請求項1に記載のスクリュー。
  10.  前記請求項1~9のいずれか1項に記載のスクリューが搭載された射出装置。
