Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for depositing value documents, in particular banknotes, and a device for carrying out the method.
- a deposit of value documents is carried out on a deposit device.
- the deposit of the value documents is in a first deposit mode of the deposit device at least started, however, it may happen in the event of a malfunction of the deposit device that the deposit in the first deposit mode can not be completed. Due to the malfunction, the value documents paid in in the first deposit mode in the first deposit mode can not be transported to a final storage of the deposit device. Instead, the deposit of these value documents will be terminated in a second deposit mode. If no malfunction occurs when the value documents are being paid in, the deposit in the first deposit mode is properly terminated and the value documents are transported to a final storage of the deposit device.
- the value documents are entered into the deposit device, wherein the input can be made before or after the start of the first deposit mode.
- the input value documents are singled out by the deposit device, acquired, for example by means of a sensor device, and transported to a buffer of the deposit device.
- an operator of the deposit device confirms the amount paid in by the value documents. The confirmation takes place at a time when the deposited value documents are in the cache.
- the paid-in value documents are billed by the deposit device in the first deposit mode.
- the amount paid in during the deposit is set, for example, the total value of the deposit, or even several partial amounts of the deposited value documents.
- the amount (s) paid in by the documents of value may be transferred by the deposit device to a dedicated information store located within the deposit device. can be net. However, the information store can also be part of a networked system and / or be a common information store of several depositors.
- the billing of the value documents may include a booking of the amount paid or of the amounts or also a credit to an account, for example to an account of the operator, the employer or the principal of the operator or to the account of a customer who deposits the value documents handed over to the operator.
- the billed value documents are started to be transported from the buffer into a further memory of the deposit device, in particular into an end buffer, in the first deposit mode. If a malfunction occurs at a time after the value documents have been invoiced and before the transport of the value documents into the final store, the operation of the deposit device in the first deposit mode is automatically stopped, in particular the transport of the settled value documents into the final store, and the payment of the value documents in first deposit mode aborted.
- the malfunction may be, for example, a power failure or accidental shutdown of the deposit device or a jam within the deposit device, which has occurred during the transport of billed value documents in the other memory, eg in the final memory of the deposit device.
- the transport jam then exists in a section between the buffer and the final storage of the deposit device.
- the malfunction occurs, there are value documents within the deposit device which are not yet stored in the final storage, but which have already been invoiced and which belong to the deposit operation interrupted by the malfunction.
- the deposit device may issue instructions to the operator son of the deposit device to be performed to correct the malfunction.
- a second single-number mode is started, in which at least a subset of the invoiced value documents is stored, in particular those value documents that are already settled, but not before the malfunction were stored properly.
- the value documents already billed in the first deposit mode are stored and, in particular, transported to a final storage of the deposit device. However, in the second deposit mode these value documents are not billed again.
- the value documents which have been billed but not yet properly stored, can be transported in the deposit device, if necessary at a reduced transport speed.
- the second deposit mode it can be provided that these value documents can be transported on to the final storage of the deposit device. The deposit of value documents can be terminated properly.
- the deposit device In the event of a traffic jam, it may be necessary for the deposit device to be opened and the jam to be manually cleared, eg by the operator of the deposit device.
- the value documents which have not yet been transported to the final store, are transferred from the single-payment device. taken, in particular from an interior of the deposit device, which is accessible only after opening the deposit device. After the end of the transport congestion, the value documents already billed that have been withdrawn from the deposit device can be entered again into the deposit device and paid in the second deposit mode without being billed again. In this case, either all withdrawn value documents can be reentered or even only a part of the withdrawn value documents. Thus, it may be advantageous that certain value documents, in particular those which have triggered the malfunction, are not reentered in the singular device.
- the value documents entered again into the deposit device can be transported again into the buffer of the deposit device.
- the reimbursed value documents can also be transported directly into the final storage of the deposit device.
- the value documents entered again in the second deposit mode are again detected by the deposit device, eg with the aid of a sensor device of the deposit device.
- the value documents taken from the deposit device can be entered manually.
- data of the extracted value documents can be recorded and entered into the deposit device, for example by an operator of the deposit device.
- the deposit device may be designed such that after the removal of the value documents, data of the manually recorded value documents are included in the input. can be entered, for example via a data input and output device of the deposit device.
- the depositing device can request immediate removal of the value documents for manual entry of the withdrawn value documents.
- the deposit device may be programmed such that the data of the withdrawn value documents must be entered in order to use the second deposit mode. As a result, the whereabouts of the value documents taken from the deposit device are securely documented.
- the data of the manually recorded value documents contain, for example, the type of value documents and the respective number of value documents of the same kind.
- the data include, for example, the denominations and / or the currencies and / or the serial numbers of the withdrawn banknotes and / or the number and / or the amount or subtotals of withdrawn banknotes per denomination and / or per currency.
- the deposit device can display the respective type and number of the withdrawn value documents, so that the operator is informed during the reentry of the withdrawn value documents in the second deposit mode about the respective number of withdrawn value documents.
- the data of the withdrawn value documents recorded during manual acquisition are checked.
- the manually acquired data in the second singular mode can be compared with detection data which the depositor acquires when re-acquiring the re-entered value documents, eg with the aid of the sensor device.
- the checking of the entered data of the extracted value documents and the comparison with the acquisition data is preferably carried out by the single-payment device. tion, in particular performed by an evaluation of the deposit device. If discrepancies are found in the check by the deposit device, the deposit device issues appropriate messages to the operator.
- the deposit device has at least a first and a second deposit mode. At least a subset of value documents that have been billed by the deposit device in the first deposit mode can be stored in the single deposit mode in the singular device. In this case, at least a subset of the value documents paid in the first deposit mode are re-paid into the deposit device. However, in the second deposit mode, the value documents are not billed again. In the second deposit mode, it can be provided that at least a subset of the value documents billed in the first deposit mode is again entered into the deposit device and the value documents entered again preferably also be recaptured. The second deposit mode is started after the malfunction of the deposit device, in particular after rectifying the malfunction.
- the remaining documents of value of the interrupted by the malfunction operation deposit, which did not have to be removed from the deposit device are either still properly transported to the end memory before the onset of malfunction or properly stored in the buffer at the time of malfunction.
- the value documents still properly stored in the intermediate memory can be transported to the final memory of the deposit device after removal of the malfunction, as originally provided, for example before or at the beginning of the second deposit mode, for example before saving the value documents entered again.
- the value documents entered again can also be transported into the buffer in addition to the documents of value which are still properly stored in the buffer, and then all value documents stored in the buffer are transported from the buffer to the buffer.
- the deposit device also has means for transport monitoring, which are arranged between the buffer and the end memory and monitor the transport of the billed value documents from the cache to the final memory.
- the means for transport monitoring for example light barriers, are preferably arranged directly in front of the end memory, in particular directly in front of the openings, through which the billed value documents are transported into the final memory.
- the means for transport monitoring provide information from which the number of value documents can be determined, which are correctly transported from the buffer into the final storage, in particular a first number of value documents, which before the occurrence of the malfunction (in the first singular mode) properly in the End stores are transported, and a second number of documents of value that are properly transported to the final memory after correcting the malfunction (before or in the second deposit mode).
- a log is also created about the recorded value documents transported to the buffer, showing the sequence of the value documents transported to the buffer in the first single-number mode, as well as the respective value document type and the number of value documents of each value document type.
- Value documents can be calculated as well as the number of value documents taken from the deposit device and the type of the withdrawn value documents can be determined. For example, from the log with the help of the first and second number of that protocol section can be determined, in which the extracted value documents are listed. In this way, the number of extracted value documents can be determined for each value document type, for example, for banknotes, a number for each denomination of each currency.
- the recording of the protocol as well as the determination of the protocol section and the number of withdrawn value documents for each value document type can be carried out by the evaluation device of the deposit device.
- the evaluation device compares the number of value documents of each value-document type reentered and rechecked with the previously determined number of withdrawn value documents of each value-document type. Any differences in the comparison can be communicated to the operator at the data input and output device.
- the depositing device of the operator in the second single-number mode can specify the respective number of withdrawn value documents of each value-document type at the data input and output.
- the value documents can be counted and / or checked.
- the deposit device can have an input compartment into which only individual value documents can be entered one after the other, or else an input compartment in which a plurality of value documents, for example a stack of value documents, can be inserted.
- the deposit device for Deposit of banknotes, checks, coupons, vouchers, etc. be formed.
- the deposit device can be designed to deposit value documents and to securely store the value documents. Alternatively, the deposit device can also be designed both for depositing and for paying out documents of value, such as a banknote recycling device.
- the deposit facility may also be a pay station where deposits are made to pay for goods or services.
- FIG. 1 shows a cross section through a deposit device for carrying out the method according to the invention at the beginning of the deposit of a stack of value documents
- Fig. 2 cross-section through the deposit device after the removal and re-entry of value documents due to an operational disturbance as well as the deposit associated protocol.
- FIG. 1 shows a deposit device for value documents 12, which can be used in particular for depositing banknotes.
- This deposit device contains a processing section 10 for inputting the value documents 12, individually or in the form of a stack, for processing the value documents 12 and outputting processed value documents as a function of the result of the processing.
- the deposit device contains an intermediate region 76 with a buffer 16 for buffering recorded value documents and a vault section 18 with a vault 22 enclosing a final storage region 20 for receiving of security containers 24, eg cassettes.
- the deposit device has a control device 26 which serves to control the deposit device and which has interfaces to the individual components of the deposit device to be controlled (not shown).
- the deposit device can communicate with other external devices or systems that are connected or networked with the deposit device.
- the singular device includes an input tray 38 for feeding a stack of value documents 12, from which the input value documents 2 are singulated.
- the individual value documents 12 are then transported by means of a transport device along a transport path 48 from the separator 40 past a sensor device 50 arranged in the processing region 28 for detecting the value documents or through them.
- the sensor device 50 can serve to test a plurality of properties of the value documents, for example the authenticity and / or the state and / or the denomination.
- the signals of the sensor device 50 are evaluated by an evaluation device, which may be part of the control device 26. Depending on the test result, value documents are either fed to a first output bin 62, which serves to return rejected value documents, or transported into the intermediate area 76.
- the intermediate-area housing 56 encloses the buffer 16, in the example a winding store, and transport elements, not shown in the figures, for transporting the value documents 12 from an input and output opening 80 of the intermediate area into the buffer 16 or from the buffer 16 back into the processing area 28 or into the vault section 18.
- the intermediate area housing 56 includes a cover 86 which is movable via a sturdy hinge 84. Thereby, the intermediate area housing 56 can be opened so that the inner area of the Intermediate portion 76 is accessible from the outside, for example, to remedy a transport disturbance in the intermediate region 76.
- In the Bacriosgenosuse 56 and in the upper wall of the safe 22 further openings 88 and 90 are formed through which documents of value from the intermediate region 76 in the End acknowledged Scheme 20 are transportable.
- the safe 22 is used for safe storage of the security container 24 and has a door, can be brought by the security container 24 in the end memory 20 and removed from this. In the closed position, the safe 22 is closed except for the openings 88 and 90 and secured against access.
- the first group has access only to the edit area 28, but not the intermediate area 76 or the end memory area 20
- the second group has access to both the edit area 28 and the intermediate area 76 but not the final memory area 20
- the third group only has Access to the final storage area 20, but not the processing area 28 or the intermediate area 76.
- Typical operators of the first group may be, for example, cashiers who pay money collected at a cash register for transport by a value-transporting company.
- Operators of the third group may, for example, be persons of the value-transporting company who remove the security containers 24 with security documents stored therein, for example banknotes, from the safe 22 and, for example, remove them to a commercial bank or a cash center.
- Persons of the second group may be particularly trusted persons who are trained in the operation of the device so that they can perform simple maintenance on the device, in particular the elimination of a transport problem.
- a registration of an operator at the deposit device takes place, wherein a check of the access authorization to the device is also checked.
- the operator places a stack of value documents 12 in the input tray 38 and starts the deposit of the value documents in the first deposit mode by a corresponding input to the data input and output device 72, which may be a touch screen, for example.
- the value documents 12 of the stack are then separated and guided along the transport path 48 through the sensor device 50. For each value document, this captures properties in a manner known per se, with the formation of corresponding signals.
- the signals can be evaluated by an evaluation device, which can be realized by the control device 26. If there is no rejection reason, the respective value document is transported to the buffer 16 and stored there. In addition, in the first single-number mode, a log P is created on the value documents 12 that have been acquired and transported to the buffer 16, showing the order of the value documents 12 transported to the buffer 16 in the first deposit mode and the respective value document type and the number of value documents of each value document type.
- the singular device indicates the detected amount to the data input and output device 72.
- the operator can then cancel the deposit, eg if the amount entered does not match the presumed amount.
- a corresponding menu option can be selected at the data input and output device 72, which causes all value documents located in the buffer to be transported into the second output compartment 68 and thus returned.
- the amount entered will not be deducted. expects, but deleted. If the detected amount agrees with the amount expected by the operator, the operator confirms this amount. As a result of this confirmation, the recorded amount is billed and automatically the transport of the value documents into the final memory is started.
- the billing may include a credit of the amount paid in or also a forwarding of the data to other networked with the deposit device devices.
- operational disturbances may occur, such as transport congestion, which the control device 26 recognizes by means of signals from corresponding sensors along the transport path, for example light barriers. Upon detection of such a malfunction by the controller 26, this stops the transport of the value documents and displays at the data input and output device 72 messages concerning the location of the fault and the measures required to correct the malfunction. If a malfunction occurs before the settlement of the recorded amount, for example, a traffic jam in the processing area 28, the operator can remove the value documents involved in the jam from the deposit device and simply repay the deposit of the value documents 12.
- the deposit process in the first deposit mode is aborted due to the malfunction and the transport stopped immediately, ie before all already billed Value documents 12 have entered the security container 24.
- an operator belonging to the second group must register with the deposit device. Only then, the cover 86 can be moved to the open position and there is access to the Transport section 81 between the buffer 16 and the safe 22, in which the transport jam exists. To eliminate the transport congestion, those value documents 13 which are located in the transport section 81 can now be removed from the deposit device.
- value documents of the puncturing operation interrupted by the breakdown which need not be removed from the deposit device, some have still been correctly transported to the security container 24 before the occurrence of the transport congestion (value documents 14) and some still properly in place at the time of the transport congestion stored in the buffer 16 (value documents 15).
- value documents 14 which are still stored properly in the buffer 16 are transported into the security container 24 of the deposit device after the transport jam has been cleared.
- the deposit device has a second deposit mode, which the operator of the second group can select and start, eg immediately after rectifying the malfunction.
- the value documents 13 taken from the singular device can be re-paid into the deposit device without being billed again.
- the deposit device proposes, for example, at the data input and output device 72, the or the last made deposit operations to which these value documents 13 are likely to belong. The operator can select the correct deposit process or enter an individual name of the just started deposit transaction in the second deposit mode.
- the extracted value documents 13 are recorded manually, wherein they are counted, for example, by the operator of the deposit device. In the case of banknotes, for example, these are counted in terms of currency and denomination.
- the deposit device can be programmed such that after the manual removal of the value documents 13, which have already been billed, an input menu is automatically displayed on the data input and output device 72 into which the data of the withdrawn value documents 13 can or must be entered , After the operator has entered the data of the manually acquired value documents into the deposit device, a document is created about the entered data.
- the operator places the value documents 13 taken from the deposit device into the input compartment 38 of the deposit device and starts the second deposit mode.
- the revalued value documents 13 are separated, re-detected by the sensor device 50, where they are again checked for authenticity, denomination and currency, and transported to the temporary storage 16.
- the deposit device can record acquisition data of the re-paid value documents. This acquisition data can be compared with the data of the manually acquired value documents 13 previously entered by the operator. It is checked whether the manually entered number for each denomination matches the respective number that has determined the deposit device from the detection data. If a match of the entered NEN data and the detection data is detected, the deposit device outputs a corresponding positive message.
- a corresponding error message can be displayed and the operator be prompted to enter further withdrawn value documents into the singular device, which may not have been entered again.
- the operator may be given the opportunity to abort the second single-number mode so that the value documents 13, which have been reentered, are returned, for example, being transported from the intermediate memory 16 back into the output compartment 68. Subsequently, the operator can again manually record the extracted value documents 13 and enter corrected data in order to correct any erroneous previously entered data.
- the value documents 13 are then entered again in the deposit device, re-detected, checked and transported to the buffer 16. If no verification of the entered data is provided, the operator may be requested to input whether the number of re-paid value documents 13 recorded by the deposit device corresponds to the number of withdrawn value documents.
- the deposit will continue in the second deposit mode.
- the re-paid value documents 13 are transported without re-billing from the buffer 16 into the storage container 24 of the final memory, in which the previously properly transported value documents 14 of the aborted deposit operation are stored. After the successful transport of the re-deposited value documents 13 in the final memory, a total document for the deposit made is printed and output from the deposit device. Thereon Both the amount of the value documents 12 billed in the first deposit mode and the amounts of the value documents 13 that have been paid in again in the second deposit mode can be shown.
- the photoelectric sensors send signals to the control and evaluation device 26, from which this determines the number k of the value documents 14, which are properly transported from the buffer 16 into the final memory 24 before occurrence of the malfunction, and the number m of the value documents 15 after Resolve the malfunction are properly transported to the final memory.
- the protocol section is determined with the aid of the numbers m and k, in which the extracted value documents 13 are listed, cf. Figure 2.
- the protocol section which consists of the entries of the extracted value documents 13, begins with the value document entry W m + i and ends with the value document entry W n -k. After identifying the value document entries of the extracted value documents 13, the value document types and the number of value documents taken from each value document type can also be determined with the aid of the protocol.
