Abstract

La présente invention concerne des articles et dispositifs convenant à la suture de tissus, susceptibles d'incorporer un ou plusieurs polyphosphazènes et/ou d'être encapsulés par eux, ces articles et dispositifs pouvant être toutes sortes de dispositifs pour sutures chirurgicales, des fils de suture, des agrafes chirurgicales, des vis et d'autres dispositifs équivalents pour suture de tissus. Les articles et dispositifs de l'invention, qui présentent d'excellentes propriétés mécaniques et de tolérance physique, sont conçus pour améliorer la biocompatibilité de tels dispositifs gainés implantés, et pour prévenir ou atténuer les diverses lésions secondaires faisant suite au traitement ou à l'implantation. Le revêtement aux polyphosphazènes de ces divers articles et dispositifs utilisés pour suturer les tissus leur confère des avantages non négligeables, notamment en prévenant ou en atténuant fortement la croissance cellulaire incontrôlée, et en atténuant les diverses réactions inflammatoires consécutives à l'implantation d'un corps étranger dans le corps du patient, et en réduisant par voie de conséquence la quantité d'antibiotiques nécessaire au traitement d'infections accompagnant une telle implantation et les réactions inflammatoires en découlant.
