  • Figure 8a shows the detection in fruit (line 1) by Western blotting of the heavy and light IgA chains. IgA was not detected in control fruits agroinfiltrated only with CamV35S: GFP / GUS, while the expression of both chains was undetectable in tomato leaf agroinfiltrated with the same T-DNA.
  • Figure 8b shows how raw extracts of agro-infiltrated tomatoes with the T-DNA of Figure 7 are capable of specifically binding the rotavirus antigen against which they were initially selected (VP8 *). Undiluted extracts and 1:10 dilutions of the extracts reacted strongly against the antigen in ELISA assays (white bars), while control fruit extracts agroinjected with the 35S construction: GFP / GUS show only a basal signal on plates upholstered with the antigen . It is therefore demonstrated that the CNH 1 contest allows the expression of functional protein complexes in the fruit.
