Abstract

본 발명은 적응적인 해상도 기반의 영상 부호화/복호화 방법 및 장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 영상의 현재 블록을 복수 개의 해상도의 현재 블록으로 변환하고, 원래의 해상도와 복수 개의 해상도 중 하나의 해상도를 선택하며, 선택되는 해상도의 현재 블록이 예측 부호화된 영상 부호화 데이터, 선택된 해상도에 대한 정보가 부호화된 해상도 데이터 및 움직임 정보가 부호화된 움직임 정보 데이터를 포함하는 비트스트림을 생성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 영상 부호화 방법을 제공한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 영상을 소정의 부호화 단위마다 해상도를 적응적으로 선택하고 선택된 해상도로 영상을 부호화하여 압축 효율을 향상시킬 수 있다.
