Abstract
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Umformverfahren für ein Werkstück (2) unter Ausnutzung des elektroplastischen Effekts, wobei das Werkstück (2) zumindest im umzuformenden Bereich (3) elektrisch leitfähig ist, das Werkstück (2) im umzuformenden Bereich (3) während einer Kraftbeaufschlagung wenigstens so lange mit einer Vielzahl von kurzen elektrischen Stromimpulsen mit einer Amplitude, die zur Erzeugung des elektroplastischen Effekts ausreichend ist, beaufschlagt wird, bis eine gewünschte Umformung des umzuformenden Bereichs (3) erreicht ist, bei dem die Temperatur des Werkstücks (2) im umzuformenden Bereich (3) unterhalb der für ein thermisches Umformen erforderlichen materialspezifischen Mindesttemperatur des Materials des umzuformenden Bereichs (3) liegt. Der Erfindung erlaubt mit heutzutage verfügbarer Technologie ein Umformen hochfester Leichtmetalle.
