Definitions
- the present invention relates to a protective device for a wire harness that is passed through a through-hole portion of a support body such as an automobile body.
- an edge protector is attached to the portion of the through hole of the support that becomes the passage of the wire harness.
- the edge protector is a protector that is formed in a cylindrical shape through which the wire harness is passed and attached to the edge of the through hole in the plate-like support, as shown in Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2, for example. .
- an edge protector includes a cylindrical main body portion that is inserted into a through hole of a support, and a flange portion and a lock portion that are formed in a part of the main body portion.
- the flange portion is a portion that protrudes outward from the outer surface of the cylindrical main body portion and is formed in an annular shape, and is opposed to one surface of the edge portion of the through hole of the support.
- the lock portion is a portion that is formed in an outer portion of the cylindrical main body portion and can be elastically displaced inward from a position where it is caught by the other surface of the edge of the through hole of the support.
- the edge protector is attached to the through hole portion of the support body with the flange portion and the lock portion sandwiching the edge portion of the through hole in the support body from both sides thereof. Also, the edge protector is interposed between the wire harness passed through the through hole of the support and the edge of the through hole, so that the wire harness contacts the edge of the through hole in the support and is damaged. prevent.
- the edge protector is used in combination with a grommet as shown in Patent Document 3.
- the grommet is formed of a cylindrical elastic body through which the wire harness is passed, and is attached to a portion where the through hole is formed in the support body.

- the conventional edge protector has a grommet that is connected to the wire harness and the edge in order to close the gap between the through-hole portion of the support and to achieve waterproofing and dust-proofing of the inner region on one side of the support. There is a problem that it requires a complicated work to be mounted on the protector.
- the present invention easily closes the gap between the through-hole portion of the support and the protective device of the wire harness without requiring complicated work, and waterproofs the inner region on one side with the support as a boundary.
- the purpose is to realize dustproof.
- the protector (edge protector) for a wire harness is a tool that is formed in a cylindrical shape through which a wire harness is passed and is attached to an edge of a through hole in a support, and includes the following components.
- a 1st component is the cylinder member formed in the cylinder shape inserted in the through-hole of a support body. However, a flange portion and a lock portion are formed on the cylindrical member. The flange portion is a portion that protrudes outward from the outer surface of the cylindrical member and is formed in an annular shape and faces the first surface of the edge of the through hole of the support.

- the binding protrusion is formed at the end opposite to the flange portion with respect to the lock portion of the cylindrical member.
- the binding protrusion is a portion that is formed so as to protrude obliquely upward in a state in which the tubular member is inserted into the through hole of the support, and is bundled together with the wire harness that is passed through the hollow portion of the tubular member.
- the cylindrical member and the packing member have the following configurations. That is, the cylindrical member includes a semi-cylindrical first semi-cylindrical member and a second semi-cylindrical member that are formed into a cylindrical shape by being combined from both sides of the wire harness.
- the packing member is bonded to each of the first half-cylinder member and the second half-cylinder member, and the first half-cylinder member and the second half-cylinder member are combined to form a semi-annular first elastic member and a second It consists of an elastic member.
- the protective device for the wire harness according to the present invention is attached to the through hole portion of the support body in a state in which the flange portion and the lock portion sandwich the edge portion of the through hole in the support body and the packing member that overlaps with the edge portion.
- the region on the side where the flange portion is located with the support as a boundary is an outer region from which liquid or dust is generated, and the region on the side where the lock portion is located with the support as a boundary requires waterproofing and dust-proofing. It is an inner area.
- the protective member of the wire harness according to the present invention is simply attached to the through hole portion of the support, and the packing member formed in an annular shape along the flange portion is between the flange portion and the edge of the through hole of the support. And the intrusion of liquid and dust from the outer region to the inner region in the through hole portion of the support is blocked. That is, according to the present invention, the gap between the through hole portion of the support and the protective device of the wire harness can be easily closed without requiring a complicated operation of mounting the grommet, and the inner region is waterproofed. And dust-proofing is realized.
- the wire harness protector according to the present invention, if the binding protrusion is formed at the end of the cylindrical member, the wire harness bound together with the binding protrusion is obliquely inclined from the end of the cylindrical member. It is maintained in an upwardly inclined state. Therefore, even if liquid enters the inner region from the outer region through the wire harness, the liquid further reaches the electrical equipment connected to the wire harness through the inner wire harness. Can be prevented.
- the cylindrical member is composed of a first half-cylinder member and a second half-cylinder member.
- the wire harness can be easily passed through the hollow portion of the tubular member.
- the packing member is composed of two semi-annular elastic members bonded to the first half cylinder member and the second half cylinder member, the first half cylinder member and the second half cylinder member are combined. After that, the complicated operation of mounting the annular packing member on the cylindrical member is omitted, which is preferable.
