Abstract

병렬 처리 기반의 지형모델 생성 방법과 시스템이 개시된다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 지형모델 생성 방법은 지형모델을 생성하기 위한 대상 지역을 복수의 단위 영역들로 분할하는 단계; 상기 대상 지역의 적어도 일부를 나타내는 복수의 영상 데이터 중에서, 상기 복수의 단위 영역들 각각에 대응하는 단위 영상 데이터를 탐색하는 단계; 상기 탐색된 상기 단위 영상 데이터를 이용하여 상기 단위 영역들 각각의 단위 지형모델을 생성하는 단계; 및 상기 생성된 상기 단위 지형모델을 이용하여 상기 대상 지역의 지형모델을 생성하는 단계를 포함하고, 상기 단위 영상 데이터에 대응되는 상기 단위 영역들 각각을 병렬 처리하여 상기 단위 지형모델을 생성함으로써, 부하를 분산시켜 지형모델 생성 속도를 향상시킬 수 있으며, 이후에 갱신이 필요한 경우에도 대상 지역 중 갱신하고자 하는 단위 영역만을 갱신할 수 있기에 갱신을 용이하게 수행할 수 있다.
