Abstract

무선 랜 서비스를 위한 액세스 포인트를 이용하여 통신 단말의 위치를 측정하기 위한 차등적인 위치 측정 서비스를 제공하는 위치 측정 방법 및 장치가 제공된다. 상기 방법은 액세스 포인트들의 위치 좌표를 저장하는 단계; 상기 통신 단말로부터 서비스 등급 정보 및 주변 액세스 포인트에 관한 정보를 수신하는 단계; 상기 서비스 등급 정보 및 상기 주변 액세스 포인트들의 정보에 기초하여 소정 개수의 주변 액세스 포인트를 선택하는 단계; 상기 선택된 주변 액세스 포인트 각각의 위치 좌표를 획득하는 단계; 상기 선택된 액세스 포인트의 적어도 두 개의 액세스 포인트의 상기 획득된 위치 좌표를 이용하여 중심 좌표를 계산하는 단계; 및 계산된 중심 좌표를 상기 통신 단말의 최종 위치로 결정하는 단계;를 포함한다.
