Abstract
L'invention concerne une microfibre polymère coupée courte non dispersible dans l'eau, comprenant au moins un polymère non dispersible dans l'eau. Cette microfibre polymère non dispersible dans l'eau présente une finesse moyenne inférieure à 1 denier par filament ainsi qu'un rapport longueur/largeur compris entre approximativement 300 et approximativement 1000. L'invention concerne également un procédé pour produire des microfibres polymères non dispersibles dans l'eau, comprenant les étapes qui consistent : a) à couper une fibre à plusieurs composants pour former des fibres à plusieurs composants coupées; b) à mettre une charge d'alimentation contenant des fibres en contact avec de l'eau pour produire une pulpe renfermant un mélange de fibres, ladite charge d'alimentation comportant des fibres à composants multiples coupées; c) à chauffer la pulpe renfermant un mélange de fibres pour produire une pulpe renfermant un mélange de fibres chauffée; d) à éventuellement mélanger la pulpe renfermant un mélange de fibres dans une zone de cisaillement; e) à supprimer au moins une partie du sulfopolyester contenu dans la fibre à composants multiples pour produire un mélange de pulpe comprenant une dispersion de sulfopolyester et des microfibres polymères non dispersibles dans l'eau; et f) à séparer les microfibres polymères non dispersibles dans l'eau se trouvant dans le mélange de pulpe. Cette invention concerne également des procédés pour produire un article non tissé.
