- the heat pump used for drying the laundry is composed of the compressor that moves the refrigerant fluid and heat sinks named as evaporator and condenser.
- the laundry-drying process is performed by passing hot and dry air over the laundry. Humid air leaving the laundry leaves its moisture while passing over the evaporator that works as the condenser and warms while passing over the condenser that works as the heater. The air that leaves its moisture and warms up is sent onto the laundry throughout the drying cycle.
- the evaporator is composed of a refrigerant tube in serpentine form and fins arranged on the refrigerant tube.
- the humid air condensing on the evaporator fins trickles down as water droplets due to the effect of the gravity and these droplets accumulate in the drain channel under the evaporator.
- a gap should be left under the evaporator in order to maintain the water flow and as a result of this, some of the drying (processing) air moves through this gap formed for collecting water without passing through the evaporator and decreases the efficiency of the evaporator and also causes pressure loss in the closed air cycle.
- the drying air gets humid again while passing through the water collection area under the evaporator and the laundry drying performance decreases.

- the aim of the present invention is the realization of a heat pump laundry dryer wherein the condensing efficiency of the evaporator thereof is improved.
- the laundry dryer realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof comprises a ventilation duct wherein the processing air cycle is realized and an evaporator and a condenser placed into the said channel; the humid air condensing at the evaporator trickles down from the evaporator as water droplets and these droplets accumulate in the base plate under the evaporator. There is a gap between the lower surface of the evaporator and the base plate for the water flow and the drying air passes through this gap.
- the laundry dryer furthermore, comprises an air guide on the base plate, extending towards the lower surface of the evaporator, and the air guide guides the air passing through the gap under the evaporator into the evaporator and decreases its contact with the water and prevents it from getting wet.
- the air guide is horizontally placed under the evaporator in a direction perpendicular to the air flow, so as to divide the base plate of the evaporator into two areas.
- the air guide extends from the base plate towards the lower surface of the evaporator in an upwards and inclined manner.
- a water flow path is provided near the air guide on the base plate under the evaporator, and the water accumulated behind the air guide is provided to be transferred to the drain channel by passing through the said water flow path.
- the air guide placed to the base plate that forms the lower wall of the air flow path at the region wherein the evaporator is situated guides the air passing through the gap under the evaporator and provides it to be dehumidified and prevents the said air from leaving the evaporator region in a humid state by decreasing the contact of the drying air with the water.

- the heat pump laundry dryer (1) comprises a drum (2) wherein the laundry to be dried is placed, a ventilation duct (3) wherein the processing air (drying air) cycle is realized, a fan (4) providing the circulation of the processing air, a compressor (5) providing the refrigerant cycle, an evaporator (6) placed into the ventilation duct (3), that condenses the humid processing air, a condenser (7) placed into the ventilation duct (3), that heats the processing air dehumidified at the evaporator (6), a pump (8) providing the condensate water to be discharged and a drain channel (9) extending between the evaporator (6) and the pump (8), that provides the condensate water to be delivered from the evaporator (6) to the pump (8).
- the laundry dryer (1) of the present invention comprises a base plate (10) that is placed on the ventilation duct (3) under the region wherein the evaporator (6) is situated, that has a gap (B) between the lower surface of the evaporator (6) and itself, providing the condensate water to flow downwards from the evaporator (6), that provides the condensate water accumulating thereon to be delivered to the drain channel (9) and an air guide (11) that extends from the base plate (10) towards the lower surface of the evaporator (6) and that provides the processing air coming from the ventilation duct (3) and passing through the gap (B) under the evaporator (6) to be guided into the evaporator (6).
- the processing air humidified by passing over the laundry in the drum (2) is passed over the evaporator (6) and the condenser (7) respectively by means of the ventilation duct (3).
- the evaporator (6) condenses and dehumidifies the processing air, and the condenser (7) heats the dehumidified processing air coming from the evaporator (6).
- the evaporator (6) is placed into the ventilation duct (3) so that a gap (B) providing the water to flow to the base plate (10) by trickling remains.
- the water condensing in the evaporator (6) falls down through the gap (B) as droplets and these droplets accumulate on the base plate (10) that forms the base of the ventilation duct (3) at the evaporator (6) region.
- the processing air coming from the ventilation duct (3) also inevitably passes through the gap (B) under the evaporator (6).
- the air guide (11) provides the air passing through the gap (B) to join the processing air by guiding it into the evaporator (6), prevents the processing air pressure from decreasing, increases the efficiency of the evaporator (6) and prevents the processing air that is aimed to be dried from getting humid again by decreasing its contact with the water accumulating on the base plate (10).
- the air guide (11) is placed onto the base plate (10) in a direction perpendicular to the air flow direction and divides the base plate (10) under the evaporator (6) into two regions.
- the air guide (11) extends from the base plate (10) towards the lower surface of the evaporator (6) in an inclined manner with respect to the horizontal plane of the base plate (10).
- the air passing through the gap (B) is gradually rerouted and guided into the evaporator (6) over the inclined air guide (11) without causing any turbulence.
- the laundry dryer (1) comprises a water flow path (12) that is arranged on the base plate (10), that opens to near the air guide (11) or to between the air guide (11) and the base plate (10), and that provides the water accumulating on the base plate (10) to be delivered to the drain channel (9) ( Figure 2).
- the air guide (11) does not intercept the water flow on the base plate (10) thanks to the water flow path (12) and the water accumulating behind the air guide (11) on the base plate (10) is delivered to the drain channel (9) via the water flow path (12) next to the air guide (11).
- the air guide (11) placed under the evaporator (6) guides the air passing from outside the evaporator (6) into the evaporator (6), thus providing it to join the processing air and to be condensed, prevents the processing air pressure from decreasing, increases the efficiency of the evaporator (6), prevents the processing air from leaving the evaporator (6) region in a humid state by decreasing its contact with the water increases the drying performance and decreases energy consumption.

Abstract
La présente invention concerne un sèche-linge à pompe thermique (1) comprenant un tambour (2) dans lequel est placé le linge à sécher, un conduit de ventilation (3) dans lequel se produit le cycle d'air de traitement, un ventilateur (4) permettant la circulation de l'air de traitement, un compresseur (5) engendrant le cycle réfrigérant, un évaporateur (6) disposé dans le conduit de ventilation (3) qui condense l'air de traitement humide, un condensateur (7) situé dans le conduit de ventilation (3) qui chauffe l'air de traitement déshumidifié au niveau de l'évaporateur (6), une pompe (8) produisant de l'eau du condensat à décharger, et un canal de vidange (9) qui va de l'évaporateur (6) au condensateur (7) et qui produit l'eau du condensat à acheminer de l'évaporateur (6) jusqu'à la pompe (8).
