Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Strahlungsdetektor (100; 101; 2; 103; 104; 105; 106), aufweisend einen Szintillator (120) zum Erzeugen einer elektromagnetischen Strahlung (202) unter Einwirkung einer einfallenden Strahlung (200). Der Szintillator (120) weist zwei sich gegenüberliegende Stirnseiten (121; 22) und eine Seitenwand (123) zwischen den Stirnseiten (121; 122) auf. Der Strahlungsdetektor weist des Weiteren eine an der Seitenwand (123) des Szintillators (120) angeordnete Umwandlungseinrichtung (160) mit einer Mehrzahl an Kanälen (165) auf. Hierbei weist jeder Kanal (165) einen Photokathodenabschnitt (130; 131; 132) zum Erzeugen von Elektronen (204) unter Einwirkung der von dem Szintillator (120) erzeugten elektromagnetischen Strahlung (202) auf, welche durch Stoßprozesse in den Kanälen (165) vervielfachbar sind. Ferner vorgesehen ist eine Erfassungseinrichtung (170) zum Erfassen von in den Kanälen (165) der Umwandlungseinrichtung (160) 20 vervielfachten Elektronen (204). Die Erfindung betrifft darüber hinaus ein bildgebendes System (110) umfassend einen solchen Strahlungsdetektor (100; 101; 102; 103; 104; 105; 6).
