Abstract

La présente invention concerne un système de détection qui détecte les changements de niveau ou de profil du sol et qui permet à un véhicule d'éviter de se renverser dans un obstacle, tel qu'un caniveau, une bordure de trottoir, un fossé ou une toiture inclinée. Le système comprend un ou plusieurs moyens de détection, chacun ayant un axe de réponse où sa réponse est maximale, le ou les capteurs étant montés sur un véhicule. En fonctionnement, l'axe ou chaque axe de réponse de détection forme un angle par rapport à la verticale et un moyen de contrôle reçoit des signaux provenant du ou des capteurs, analyse une série d'un ou de plusieurs composants des signaux et produit une alerte quand un changement du niveau du sol est détecté. Un freinage peut être éventuellement appliqué automatiquement pour éviter que le véhicule se déplace vers l'obstacle.
