While the inventor of the electric washing machine remains unknown, Electric washing machine Woodrow's US patent 921195 is one of the oldest issued patents in the field. Washing machines was improved during 1930s. The mechanism was enclosed within a cabinet. Bendix introduced the first automatic machine in 1937, then an improved one in 1947, while General Electric introduced the first top loading automatic model in 1947, this machine had many features that are incorporated into modern machines.
