Description

내구성이 향상된 구조를 갖는 배기가스 후처리 장치 및 방법
본 발명은 선택적 촉매 환원(Selective Catalytic Reduction, SCR) 공정을 포함한 배기가스의 후처리 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 배기가스 내 질소화합물(NOx)의 발생량 및 변화율에 기초하여 선택적으로 선택적 촉매 환원부 및 암모니아 산화 촉매(Ammonia Oxidation Catalytic, AOC)부의 작동 여부를 결정하는 구조의 내구성이 향상된 구조를 갖는 배기가스 후처리 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것이다.
도 1은 종래 배기가스 후처리 장치의 구성도이다. 도 1에 도시된 바와 같이, 일반적으로 디젤 자동차로부터 발생되는 배기가스의 후처리 장치는, 일련되는 매연 산화 촉매부(10), 매연 여과부(20), 선택적 촉매 환원부(30) 및 암모니아 산화 촉매부(40) 등으로 구성되어 있다.
여기서 선택적 촉매 환원부(30)의 전방에는 도징밸브(31)가 연결되어 있다.
이러한 종래 후처리 장치 및 이를 이용한 공정을 살펴보면, 배기가스가 매연 산화 촉매부(10) 및 매연 여과부(20)를 지나면서 질소화합물이 선택적 촉매 환원부(30)에 도달하게 된다.
이 때 종래 후처리 장치에서는, 질소화합물의 발생량의 많고 적음에 관계없이 그대로 선택적 촉매 환원부(30)에 진입하게 되는 방식을 갖고 있다. 즉 질소화합물의 발생량에 기초하여 선택적 촉매 환원부(30)로 그 가스의 진입 및 선택적 촉매 환원부(30)의 작동을 제어할 만한 어떠한 구조도 갖고 있지 않은 문제점이 있다.
이에 따라 선택적 촉매 환원부(30)는 질소화합물의 발생량이 적거나 없음에도 불구하고 이와 상관됨이 없이 지속적으로 작동하게 되면서, 그 내구성이 저하되는 문제점이 초래된다.
아울러 선택적 촉매 환원부(30)를 지난 질소화합물이 도달하는 곳이 암모니아 산화 촉매부(40)이다. 암모니아 산화 촉매부(40)는 질소화합물에 대해 암모니아를 투입 반응시키는 곳이다.
이때에도 질소화합물의 변화율에 관계없이 암모니아 산화 촉매부(40)가 작동하게 되어 내구성에 문제가 발생할 수 있는바, 암모니아 산화 촉매부(40)의 전방에 질소화합물의 변화율을 검지할 만한 어떠한 감지 및 연산수단도 구비되어 있지 않기 때문에 이러한 문제점이 발생하는 것이다.
따라서 질소화합물의 발생량 또는 변화율에 기초하여 선택적 촉매 환원부(30) 및 암모니아 산화 촉매부(40)의 작동 여부가 결정되는 구조의 장치개발이 시급한 실정이다.
따라서 본 발명은 상기와 같은 종래 문제점을 감안하여 안출된 것으로, 본 발명의 목적은, 질소화합물의 발생량 및 변화율에 기초하여 선택적 촉매 환원부 및 암모니아 산화 촉매부의 작동 여부가 선택적으로 결정될 수 있도록 선택적 촉매 환원부 및 암모니아 산화 촉매부의 전방에 감지수단 및 바이패스 밸브가 장착되는 구조의 내구성이 향상된 구조를 갖는 배기가스 후처리 장치 및 그에 따른 처리방법을 제공하는 것이다.
이러한 본 발명의 목적은, 배기가스의 매연을 산화 처리하기 위한 매연 산화 촉매부; 매연 산화 촉매부에 연결되어 매연을 여과하기 위한 매연 여과부; 매연 여과부에 연결되는 선택적 촉매 환원부; 및 선택적 촉매 환원부에 연결되는 암모니아 산화 촉매부;를 포함하고, 선택적 촉매 환원부의 전방에는, 매연 여과부로부터 유입되는 배기가스 질소화합물의 발생량을 감지하기 위한 제1 가스 감지센서와, 선택적 촉매 환원부에 대한 배기가스의 유입을 선택적으로 차단하기 위한 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브가 설치되고, 가스량 감지신호에 기초하여 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브 및 선택적 촉매 환원부의 작동여부를 제어하기 위해 전기적으로 연결되는 제어기를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내구성이 향상된 구조를 갖는 배기가스 후처리 장치에 의하여 달성된다.
여기서 암모니아 산화 촉매부의 전방에는, 질소화합물 가스를 감지하기 위한 제2 가스 감지센서 및 암모니아 산화 촉매부에 대한 배기가스의 유입을 선택적으로 차단하기 위한 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브가 제어기에 전기적으로 더 연결 설치되는 것이 바람직하다.
한편, 이와 같은 본 발명의 목적은, 매연 산화 촉매부 및 매연 여과부를 통과한 배기가스로부터 제1 가스 감지센서가 질소화합물 가스를 감지하는 단계(S100); 제어기가 감지신호에 기초하여 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브의 개폐여부를 결정하는 단계(S200); 선택적 촉매환원부를 통과한 질소화합물 가스를 제2 가스 감지센서가 감지하는 단계(S300); 및 감지신호에 기초한 제어기의 질소화합물 변화율 연산에 따라 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브의 개폐여부를 결정하는 단계(S400);를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배기가스 후처리 방법에 의하여 달성된다.
본 발명에 따른 내구성이 향상된 구조를 갖는 배기가스 후처리 장치에 따르면, 선택적 촉매 환원부에 배기가스가 유입되기 전에 질소화합물의 발생량을 감지하여 그 양이 기준치보다 적을 경우, 선택적 촉매 환원부에 유입시키지 않고 배출함으로써, 선택적 촉매 환원부의 내구성을 획기적으로 향상시킬 수 있는 특징이 있다.
또한 질소화합물의 변화율 측정구조의 마련으로, 암모니아 산화 촉매부에 대한 배기가스 유입도 선택적으로 개폐할 수 있기 때문에, 암모니아 산화 촉매부의 내구성 증진도 효과도 발현될 수 있다.

이러한 본 발명에 따른 배기가스 후처리 장치는, 배기가스의 매연을 산화 처리하기 위한 매연 산화 촉매부(100)와, 매연 산화 촉매부(100)에 연결되어 매연을 여과하기 위한 매연 여과부(200)를 포함하고, 매연 여과부(200)에 연결되고 전방에 도징밸브(310)가 부설되는 선택적 촉매 환원부(300) 및 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)에 연결되는 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)로 구성되는 구조를 갖는다.
여기서 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)에는 매연 산화 촉매부(100) 및 매연 여과부(200)를 통과한 배기가스가 유입되는바, 이러한 배기가스로부터 질소화합물이 발생하면 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)을 거쳐 분해되는데, 만일 질소화합물의 발생량이 적거나 없을 경우 이러한 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)의 유입 및 분해과정은 불필요할 것이다.
본 발명에 따른 후처리 장치에서, 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)의 전방에는 이러한 질소화합물의 발생량을 감지하고 그 양이 기준치보다 적을 경우 외부로 배출하는 구조가 형성되었는바, 제1 가스 감지센서(320) 및 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브(330)이다.
아울러 제1 가스 감지센서(320) 및 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브(330)에 전기적으로 제어기(500)가 연결되어 있으며, 이러한 제어기(500)에는 질소화합물 발생량에 대한 기준값이 저장되어 있다.
이러한 제어기(500)는 기준값과의 비교 연산을 통해 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브(330)에 대한 개폐여부를 결정하는 ECU 로직연산 구조이다.
따라서 만일 제1 가스 감지센서(320)가 질소화합물을 감지하고 그 감지신호를 제어기(500)로 송출할 경우, 제어기(500)는 내장된 기준값과의 비교연산을 실시하고 만일 기준값을 초과하면 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브(330)의 개방을 지령하여 해당 질소화합물이 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)를 통과하도록 제어한다.
이와는 반대로 기준값 이하일 경우 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브(330)의 폐쇄를 지령하여 해당 질소화합물이 대기중으로 배출되도록 함으로써, 질소화합물의 발생량에 기초하여 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브(330)의 개폐 및 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)에 대한 질소화합물의 유입 여부가 결정되는 구조가 마련될 수 있다.
아울러 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)의 후방에는 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)가 연결되어 있다. 이러한 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)의 전방으로 설치되어 있는 것이 제2 가스 감지센서(420)와 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브(410)이다.
이러한 제2 가스 감지센서(420)와 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브(410)는 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)에 대한 질소화합물의 유입 여부가 질소화합물의 변화율에 기초하여 결정되도록 구비되는 구조로서, 제2 가스 감지센서(420) 및 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브(410)는 모두 제어기(500)에 전기적으로 연결되어 있다.
이 때 제어기(500)에는 질소화합물의 변화율에 관한 기준값이 저장되어 있으며, 질소화합물의 변화 전후 값을 변화 전 값으로 나눈 백분율 연산처리 및 이러한 기준값과의 비교 연산에 따라 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브(410)의 개폐 및 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)에 대한 질소화합물의 유입 여부가 결정되는 구조가 마련될 수 있다.
이 때 연산처리 결과의 보정을 위해 엔진온도, 대기압에 따라 곱해지는 factor 변수 등을 제어기(500)의 연산에 사용할 수 있으며, 관련 최적값은 시험 결과치를 반영함으로써 얻을 수 있다.
따라서 만일 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)에 대해 질소화합물이 유입되려 할 경우, 이러한 질소화합물은 제2 가스 감지센서(420)에서 해당 질소화합물 가스가 감지되고 이러한 감지신호가 제어기(500)에 송출된다.
그러면 제어기(500)는 감지신호에 기초하여, 앞서 언급된 연산처리 및 기준값과의 비교를 통해 만일 기준값을 초과할 경우 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브(410)를 개방하여 질소화합물이 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)로 유입되어 분해되도록 하고, 기준값 이하일 경우에는 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브(410)를 폐쇄를 지령하여 기준값 이하의 질소화합물이 대기중으로 방출되도록 하는 등, 제어기에 설정된 기준값과의 비교로 질소화합물의 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)에 대한 유입 여부가 결정될 수 있는 구조가 발현될 수 있다.
도 3은 본 발명에 따른 배기가스 후처리 방법에 관한 순서도이다. 도 3에 도시된 바와 같이, 본 발명에 따른 배기가스 후처리 방법은, 배기가스 중 발생하는 질소화합물의 발생량과 변화율에 기초하여 선택적 촉매 환원 및 암모니아 산화 촉매가 이루어질 있도록 구성된 공정이다.
우선 차량으로부터 배출된 배기가스가 매연 산화 촉매부(100) 및 매연 여과부(200)로부터 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)에 유입되기 전 배기가스 질소화합물의 발생량을 감지한다.(S100)
이 때 질소화합물의 발생량은, 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)의 전방에 설치된 제1 가스 감지센서(320)에서 이루어진다.
다음으로 제어기(500)가 질소화합물의 감지신호에 기초하여 기준값과의 비교연산처리를 실시하고, 해당 결과에 따라 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)에 대한 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브(330)의 개폐여부를 결정하는 단계이다.
제어기(500)는 제1 가스 감지센서(320)의 감지신호를 저장된 기준값과 비교하여 만일 기준값을 초과할 경우 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브(330)를 개방하여 해당 질소화합물이 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)로 유입되도록 한다.
이와 반대로 해당 감지신호가 기준값 이하일 경우에는 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브(330)를 닫아 질소화합물이 대기중에 방출되도록 한다.(S200)
다음은 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)의 질소화합물 가스가 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)로 유입될 경우 이를 감지하는 단계로서, 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)를 통과한 질소화합물 가스를 제2 가스 감지센터(420)가 감지하고 해당 감지신호를 제어기(500)에 송출한다.
이러한 제2 가스 감지센서(420)는 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브(410)와 함께 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)의 전방에 설치되어 있다.
따라서 질소화합물이 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)에 도달할 경우 제2 가스 감지센서(420)에 의해 질소화합물 가스를 감지할 수 있다.(S300)
이 때 제어기(500)는 ECU 로직방식으로서, 변화율에 대한 기준값과 함께 (변화전-변화후)/변화전 ㅧ 100의 연산식이 내장되어 있고, 당해 시기 엔진온도, 대기압 등이 보정값으로 저장되어 있는바, 다음 단계는 제2 가스 감지센서(420)의 감지신호에 기초하여 당해 질소화합물의 변화율을 측정하고 기준값과의 비교를 통해 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브(410)의 개폐 여부를 결정하는 단계이다.
제어기(500)에는 질소화합물의 변화율에 관한 기준값이 저장되어 있어 당해 감지신호에 기초하여 연산된 변화율과 기준값을 비교한다. 이 때 만일 변화율이 클 경우에는 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브(410)를 개방하도록 지령하여 해당 질소화합물이 암모니아 산화 촉매부(410)에 유입되도록 하고, 기준값 이하일 경우에는 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브(410)를 폐쇄하여 질소화합물이 대기중에 방출되도록 한다.(S400)
이러한 본 발명에 따른 후처리 방법의 공정에 따라, 질소화합물의 발생량 및 변화율에 기초하여 질소화합물에 대한 선택적 촉매 환원반응 또는 암모니아 산화 촉매 반응 여부가 결정될 수 있다.
본 발명은 선택적 촉매 환원(Selective Catalytic Reduction, SCR)을 이용하여 배기가스에 포함된 질소산화물을 정화시키도록 하는 데에 이용될 수 있다.

Claims (3)

  1. 배기가스의 매연을 산화 처리하기 위한 매연 산화 촉매부(100);
    상기 매연 산화 촉매부(100)에 연결되어 매연을 여과하기 위한 매연 여과부(200);
    상기 매연 여과부(200)에 연결되는 선택적 촉매 환원부(300); 및
    상기 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)에 연결되는 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400);를 포함하고,
    상기 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)의 전방에는, 상기 매연 여과부(200)로부터 유입되는 배기가스 내 질소화합물의 발생량을 감지하기 위한 제1 가스 감지센서 감지센서(320)와,
    상기 선택적 촉매 환원(300)부에 대한 배기가스의 유입을 선택적으로 차단하기 위한 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브(330)가 설치되고,
    상기 가스량 감지신호에 기초하여 상기 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브(330) 및 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)의 작동여부를 제어하기 위해 전기적으로 연결되는 제어기(500)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내구성이 향상된 구조를 갖는 배기가스 후처리 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)의 전방에는,
    질소화합물 가스를 감지하기 위한 제2 가스 감지센서(420) 및
    상기 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)에 대한 배기가스의 유입을 선택적으로 차단하기 위한 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브(410)가 제어기(500)에 전기적으로 더 연결 설치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 내구성이 향상된 구조를 갖는 배기가스 후처리 장치.
  3. 매연 산화 촉매부(100) 및 매연 여과부(200)를 통과한 배기가스로부터 제1 가스 감지센서(320)가 질소화합물을 감지하는 단계(S100);
    제어기(500)가 상기 감지신호에 기초하여 선택적 촉매 환원부(300)에 대한 선택적 촉매 환원 바이패스 밸브(330)의 개폐 여부를 결정하는 단계(S200);
    상기 선택적 촉매환원부(300)를 통과한 질소화합물 가스를 제2 가스 감지센서(420)가 감지하는 단계(S300); 및
    상기 감지신호에 기초한 제어기(500)의 질소화합물 변화율 연산에 따라 암모니아 산화 촉매부(400)에 대한 암모니아 산화 촉매 바이패스 밸브(410)의 개폐여부를 결정하는 단계(S400);를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 배기가스 후처리 방법.
