Abstract
Description
例えば、特許文献1の図9では、車体に固定された車体側ブラケットに、コラム軸方向に平行に延びる一対の係止切欠きが設けられている。各係止切欠きにそれぞれ複数の係止ピンにより保持された一対の係止カプセルを介して、コラム側ブラケットが支持されている。各係止カプセルは、各係止切欠きを挿通するボルトをそれぞれ介してコラム側ブラケットに結合固定されている。
二次衝突時には、各係止カプセルを保持している複数の係止ピンが破断することにより、各係止カプセルが、対応する係止切欠きから離脱し、係止カプセルとコラムブラケットとがコラム軸方向に同行移動する。

また、前記連結・離脱機構は、樹脂ピン(61;61A,61B,61C)を含み、前記樹脂ピンは、単一で設けられるか、または前記コラム移動方向に並ぶ単一列で設けられていてもよい。
前記連結・離脱機構は、前記コラム移動方向とは直交する方向に関して、前記一対の第1孔の間の中央位置に配置されていてもよい。
二次衝突時に前記第1板と前記第2板との相対移動に伴って互いに摺動する少なくとも一対の摺動部の少なくとも1つが、低摩擦材(43,45,46)で形成されていてもよい。
また、本発明によれば、連結・離脱機構が、コラム移動方向とは直交する方向に関して、一対の第1孔の間の中央位置に配置されているので、二次衝突時に、こじりの発生を確実に抑制して、可動ブラケットをコラム移動方向に確実に真直に移動させることができる。
また、本発明によれば、二次衝突時に第1板と第2板との相対移動に伴って互いに摺動する少なくとも一対の摺動部の少なくとも一方が低摩擦材で形成されていることで、第1板と第2板とをスムーズに相対移動させることができる。したがって、こじりの発生をより確実に抑制することができる。
図1は本発明の一実施形態のステアリングコラム装置の概略構成を示す模式図である。図1を参照して、ステアリングコラム装置1は、ステアリングホイール等の操舵部材2に連結されたステアリングシャフト3と、ステアリングシャフト3に自在継手4を介して連結された中間軸5と、中間軸5に自在継手6を介して連結されたピニオン軸7と、ピニオン軸7の端部近傍に設けられたピニオン7aに噛み合うラック8aを有する転舵軸としてのラック軸8とを備えている。
ステアリングコラム15は、軸方向に相対移動可能に嵌め合わされた筒状のアッパージャケット16(可動ジャケット)と、筒状のロアージャケット17と、ロアージャケット17の軸方向下端に連結されたハウジング18とを備えている。ハウジング18内には、操舵補助用の電動モータ19の動力を減速してロアーシャフト12に伝達する減速機構20が収容されている。減速機構20は、電動モータ19の回転軸(図示せず)と同行回転可能に連結された駆動ギヤ21と、駆動ギヤ21に噛み合いロアーシャフト12と同行回転する被動ギヤ22とを有している。
図2、図3に示すように、チルトブラケット24は、一対の側板41を備えている。図2に示すように、コラムブラケット26は、チルトブラケット24の一対の側板41にそれぞれ対向する一対の側板71と、一対の側板71の下端間を連結する連結板72とを備えた溝形をなしている。
図2および一部破断概略平面図である図4に示すように、連結・離脱機構R1は、コラム移動方向X1とは直交する方向Y1に関して、一対の吊り下げ機構T1,T2の間に配置されている。言い換えると、連結・離脱機構R1は、コラム移動方向X1とは直交する方向Y1に関して、固定ブラケット23の第1板30の後述する一対の第1孔31の間に配置されている。
具体的には、連結・離脱機構R1は、コラム移動方向X1とは直交する方向Y1に関して、一対の第1孔31の間の中央位置に配置されている。言い換えると、連結・離脱機構R1は、コラム移動方向X1とは直交する方向Y1に関して、一対の吊り下げボルト25の間の中央位置に配置されている。
図2および図3に示すように、各吊り下げ機構T1,T2は、吊り下げボルト25と、例えば皿ばねからなる板ばね42と、ナット34等により構成されている。連結・離脱機構R1は、二次衝突時に剪断する樹脂ピン61と、樹脂ピン61の軸方向の一部に嵌合した円筒状の金属カラー62とで構成されている。なお、金属カラー62に代えて、高硬度の樹脂やセラミック等のカラーを用いてもよい。
図2、図3に示すように、チルトブラケット24(可動ブラケット)は、例えば板金により形成されている。チルトブラケット24は、第2板32と、第2板32の一対の側縁から下向きに延設された一対の側板41とを備えており、溝形をなしている。第2板32と各側板41との連結部は、図2、図3に示すように湾曲状に形成されていてもよい。
第1介在板45は、第2板32のコラム移動方向X1側の端部である第1端部321に係止された溝形のユニット45Uを構成している。すなわち、ユニット45Uは、第2板32の上面32aおよび第1板30の下面30bに沿う第1介在板45と、第1介在板45と対向し且つ第2板32の下面32bに沿う対向板47と、第1介在板45と対向板47とを連結し且つ第2板32のコラム移動方向X1側の端縁に当接する連結板48とを備えている。
第2介在板46は、第1板30のコラム移動方向X1とは反対側の端部である第2端部302および第2板32のコラム移動方向X1とは反対側の端部である第2端部322に係止されたユニット46Uを構成している。すなわち、ユニット46Uは、第2板32の上面32aおよび第1板30の下面30bに沿う第2介在板46と、第2介在板46に対向し且つ第1板30の上面30aに沿う対向板49とを備えている。また、ユニット46Uは、第2介在板46と対向板49とを連結し且つ第1板30のラコム移動方向X1とは反対側の端縁に当接する連結板50と、第2板32の第2端部322に引っ掛け係止される例えば鉤形フック状の係止部51とを備えている。
図2および図3に示すように、各吊り下げボルト25は、頭部52と、頭部52に連なり頭部52より小径の大径部53と、大径部53に連なり大径部53より小径の小径部54と、大径部53と小径部54との間に形成された段部55と、小径部54に設けられたねじ部56とを備えている。頭部52には、例えば六角孔形状の工具係合部57が設けられている。
頭部52と段部55との間隔H1(大径部53の軸長に相当)は、第1板30と第2板32との間に介在する第1介在板45の板厚(または第2介在板46の板厚)と、第1板30の板厚と、第1板30の上面30aに沿う介在板43の板厚と、最圧縮時の板ばね42の板厚との合計よりも大きくされている。これにより、板ばね42が、介在板43を介して第1板30を第2板32側へ弾性的に付勢している。
図2のVIII-VIII線に沿う断面である図8に示すように、チルトブラケット24の第2板32の、連結・離脱機構R1用の第2孔67は、コラム移動方向X1とは直交する方向Y1に関して、吊り下げ機構T1,T2用の一対の第2孔33間の中央位置に配置されている。第2孔67は、樹脂ピン61の軸部64の外径と同じか又は若干大きい内径を持つ円孔により形成されている。
本実施形態によれば、二次衝突時に、チルトブラケット24(可動ブラケット)の第2板32を固定ブラケット23の第1板30の所定位置(図5参照)からコラム移動方向X1に離脱させる連結・離脱機構R1が、コラム移動方向X1とは直交する方向Y1に関して、一対の長孔からなる第1孔31の間のみに設けられているので、二次衝突時の固定ブラケット23に対するチルトブラケット24のこじりの発生を抑制して、チルトブラケット24をコラム移動方向X1に真直に移動させることができる。
また、吊り下げボルト25の頭部52と第1板30との間に介在した板ばね42によって、第1板30と第2板32との初期押圧荷重を容易に設定することができる。したがって、二次衝突時にチルトブラケット24が固定ブラケット23に対してこじりを発生することをより確実に抑制することができる。
また、第1板30と第2板32との間に、第1板30に保持されて、二次衝突時に、第2板32の上面32aに対して相対移動する第2介在板46を介在させ、第2板32と摺動する第2介在板46の少なくとも第2板32側の面(摺動部)を低摩擦材で形成している。
特に、固定ブラケット23の第1板30とチルトブラケット24(可動ブラケット)の第2板32との間に介在する摩擦低減用の第1介在板45と第2介在板46とが、下記の効果を奏する。すなわち、第1介在板45および第2介在板46は、コラム移動方向X1に関して、チルトブラケット24の第2板32の中央位置を避け、前記中央位置を挟んでコラム移動方向X1の前後に配置されている。したがって、ステアリングコラム15の振動剛性の向上と、二次衝突時の両ブラケット23,24間のこじり発生の抑制とを両立することができる。
また、図2に示すように、吊り下げボルト25の大径部53が、板ばね42と介在板43と第1板30とを挿通し、大径部53と小径部54との間の段部55が、第2板32の上面32aに着座している。また、小径部54が第2板32を挿通し、小径部54に螺合したナット34と段部55との間で、第2板32が挟持固定されている。一方、吊り下げボルト25の頭部52と第2板32の上面32aとの間で、板ばね42が、介在板43を介して第1板30を第2板32側へ弾性的に付勢している。
また、図2~図4に示すように、二次衝突時に、一対の吊り下げボルト25や一対の板ばね42と、コラム移動方向X1に同行移動する介在板43が、コラム移動方向X1とは直交する方向に長い長板により形成されているので、一対の吊り下げボルト25や一対の板ばね42を一括してコラム移動方向X1へ真直に移動させる効果がある。しかも、介在板43の少なくとも第2板32側の面が低摩擦材で形成されているので、摺動抵抗を低減して、一対の吊り下げボルト25や一対の板ばね42を一括して、より真直にコラム移動方向X1に移動させる効果がある。
図7に示すように、コラム移動方向X1とは直交する方向Y1に関して、樹脂ピン挿通孔としての第1孔66と樹脂ピン61とが所定量相対移動可能である。具体的には、樹脂ピン61の外周に嵌合された金属カラー62の外周と第1孔66の内周との間に、コラム移動方向X1とは直交する方向Y1に関して隙間S1,S2が設けられている。これにより、コラム移動方向X1とは直交する方向Y1に関して、樹脂ピン61と第1孔66との遊び量(本実施形態では金属カラー62と第1孔66との遊び量に相当)が、各吊り下げボルト25と対応する第1孔31との遊び量よりも大きくされている。
したがって、車両への組み付け前のステアリングコラム装置1を運搬するときや、ステアリングコラム装置1を車両へ組み付けるときに、前記横方向に働く何らかの外力で横方向の衝撃が加わったとしても、樹脂ピン61が直接力を受けて不用意に剪断して破損することがない。
また、図5に示すように、内周が円断面をなす金属カラー62が、樹脂ピン61の円柱状部(軸部64)の外周に嵌合し、金属カラー62が、第1板30の第1孔31に挿通されて、金属カラー62の第2端部622が第2板32の上面32aの第2孔33の周縁によって受けられている。したがって、二次衝突時に、樹脂ピン61を剪断する一対の剪断刃として機能する一対の部位間(金属カラー62の第2端部622の内周と第2孔67の上端の周縁)の、樹脂ピン61の軸方向に関する隙間を殆どなくすことができる。したがって、剪断時に樹脂ピン61に曲げが及ぼされることがなく、樹脂ピン61の剪断荷重を安定させることができる。
その他、本発明の請求項記載の範囲内で種々の変更を施すことができる。

- ステアリングコラム装置であって、
車体側部材に固定され、第1板を含み、前記第1板に、それぞれが二次衝突時のコラム移動方向と平行に延びる長孔である、前記コラム移動方向とは直交する方向に離隔する一対の第1孔が形成された、固定ブラケットと、
一端に操舵部材が連結されたステアリングシャフトを回転可能に支持する可動ジャケットと、
二次衝突時に前記可動ジャケットと共に前記コラム移動方向に移動するように前記可動ジャケットを支持し、前記第1板に対向する第2板を含み、前記第2板に、前記一対の第1孔にそれぞれ対向する一対の第2孔が形成された、可動ブラケットと、
対応する第1孔および対応する第2孔を挿通して前記第1板と前記第2板とを連結することで前記可動ブラケットを介して前記可動ジャケットを吊り下げ、二次衝突時に対応する第1孔に沿って移動可能な一対の吊り下げ軸と、
前記コラム移動方向とは直交する方向に関して前記一対の第1孔の間のみに配置されて前記第2板を前記第1板の所定位置に連結し、二次衝突時に前記第2板を前記所定位置から前記コラム移動方向へ離脱させる連結・離脱機構と、
を具備してなり、
前記連結・離脱機構は、樹脂ピンを含み、
前記樹脂ピンは、単一で設けられるか、または前記コラム移動方向に並ぶ単一列で設けられている。 - 請求項1に記載のステアリングコラム装置であって、
前記樹脂ピンは、前記第1板に設けられた樹脂ピン挿通孔に挿通されており、
