Abstract

La présente invention se rapporte à une échelle de sécurité destinée à protéger un monteur de lignes ou un pompier d'un feu à inflammation instantanée. L'échelle présente l'apparence d'une échelle classique mais comprend des plaques de verrouillage positionnées entre les barreaux le long des rampes. Aux plaques sont fixées des conduites de fluide qui permettent la distribution d'un polymère super absorbant hydraté qui présente une meilleure propriété d'extinction du feu et qui doit être pulvérisé sur une personne qui utilise l'échelle en cas de départ de feu. Les plaques de montage comportent des buses de pulvérisation fixées à la conduite située le long des rampes de l'échelle de sorte à ne pas interférer avec une utilisation normale de l'échelle. Un récipient sous pression contenant un polymère super absorbant hydraté est accouplé à l'échelle. Le polymère super absorbant hydraté est évacué au moyen d'une électrovanne qui peut être actionnée par la personne qui utilise l'échelle à l'aide d'un bouton fixé à l'échelle ou activée par un capteur de chaleur fixé à l'échelle.
