Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an airbag module for a vehicle according to the preamble of claim 1 and to a housing for an airbag module according to claim 9.
  • the previously known airbag modules have an airbag housing, in which a gas generator is used with an all-round circumferential mounting flange. When inflated, the gas generator fills an opening in the bottom of the housing. At the same time, the gas bag is clamped between the flange and the housing bottom. Gas generators are also known which generate a high velocity gas stream when ignited. The gas stream is directed to a converging end of a converging / diverging nozzle and then enters the inflatable airbag.
