Abstract

 エレクトレットを用いた回転型の発電装置を搭載した電子機器において、渦巻きバネの巻きあがり及び伸びきりを防止すること。自由回転可能に支持され、重心が回転中心から偏った少なくとも1つの第1の回転部材と、自由回転可能に支持された少なくとも1つの第2の回転部材と、前記第1の回転部材と前記第2の回転部材をその回転運動に関し互いに弾性的に接続する弾性部材と、前記第2の回転部材と対向して設けられる固定部材と、を有し、前記第2の回転部材と前記固定部材のいずれかの表面にエレクトレット膜が設けられた発電機構(6)を備えた電子機器。

Description

電子機器
 本発明は、発電機能付き電子機器に関する。
 腕時計等の小型の携帯型電子機器において、電池の交換の手間を省くべく、発電機能を搭載することが行われる。そのような電子機器に用いられる発電機構としては種々のものがあるが、エレクトレットを用いた振動発電の原理を用いたものが提案されている。
 特許文献1には、携帯型電気機器に用いられる発電装置であって、渦巻きバネにより支持された回動錘と一体に回転する電極をエレクトレット膜に対向配置したものが記載されている。

 上述のエレクトレットを用いた回転型の発電装置は、携帯型の電子機器に搭載され、携帯中における当該電子機器の姿勢の変化により発電をすることが意図される。しかしながら、上掲の特許文献1のように、電極を回転錘、渦巻きバネ、固定部材の順に接続し支持する構造とすると、電子機器の姿勢の変化如何によっては渦巻きバネが巻きあがり又は伸びきってしまい、電極の回転運動が行えなくなることが懸念される。また、電極の回転運動の固有角振動数は渦巻きバネのバネ定数と当該渦巻きバネにより弾性支持される質量により一意に定まることになる。
 本発明は、かかる事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、その課題は、エレクトレットを用いた回転型の発電装置を搭載した電子機器において、渦巻きバネの巻きあがり及び伸びきりを防止することである。また、本発明のさらなる追加の課題は、エレクトレットを用いた回転型の発電装置を搭載した電子機器において、外部から与えられる種々の周期の振動に対して効率よく発電することである。
 上記課題を解決すべく本出願において開示される発明は種々の側面を有しており、それら側面の代表的なものの概要は以下のとおりである。
 (1)自由回転可能に支持され、重心が回転中心から偏った少なくとも1つの第1の回転部材と、自由回転可能に支持された少なくとも1つの第2の回転部材と、前記第1の回転部材と前記第2の回転部材をその回転運動に関し互いに弾性的に接続する弾性部材と、前記第2の回転部材と対向して設けられる固定部材と、を有し、前記第2の回転部材と前記固定部材のいずれかの表面にエレクトレット膜が設けられた発電機構を備えた電子機器。
 (2)(1)において、前記第1の回転部材の慣性モーメントの値と前記第2の回転部材の慣性モーメントの値は互いに異なる電子機器。
 (3)(2)において、前記第1の回転部材の慣性モーメントの値は前記第2の回転部材の慣性モーメントの値より大きい電子機器。
 (4)(1)~(3)のいずれかにおいて、前記弾性部材の弛緩状態において、前記第1の回転部材の回転中心からみた重心方向と、前記第2の回転部材の回転中心からみた重心方向とがなす角θは、0°<θ<180°である電子機器。
 (5)(1)~(4)のいずれかにおいて、前記第2の回転部材の表面に前記エレクトレット膜が設けられた電子機器。
 (6)(1)~(5)のいずれかにおいて、前記第2の回転部材は、重心が回転中心から偏っている電子機器。

 上記(1)の側面によれば、エレクトレットを用いた回転型の発電装置を搭載した電子機器において、渦巻きバネの巻きあがり及び伸びきりを防止することができる。
 上記(2)の側面によれば、入力される外部からの振動の周波数と、発電に用いる電極の回転振動の周波数を異なるものとすることができる。
 上記(3)の側面によれば、入力される外部からの振動の周波数に対し、発電に用いる電極の回転振動の周波数を高いものとすることができ、発電効率が向上する。
 上記(4)の側面によれば、外部からの振動に対する感受性を高め、入力される振動の方向によらずに発電することができる。
 上記(5)の側面によれば、配線が固定部材に対しなされるため、発電機構の構造が簡素なものとなる。
 上記(6)の側面によれば、外部から与えられる種々の振動に対し、より広範囲の周波数にわたり運動エネルギーを回収することができ、発電効率が向上する。
 上記(7)の側面によれば、エレクトレット膜の面積を広くとり、なおかつコンパクトな構成とすることができる。
 上記(8)の側面によれば、外部から与えられる種々の振動に対し、さらに広範囲の周波数にわたり運動エネルギーを回収することができ、発電効率が向上する。
 上記(9)の側面によれば、渦巻きバネの径方向外側への伸びきりを原因とする発電機構の破損を抑制することができる。
 上記(10)の側面によれば、発電機構の回転軸方向の厚みを薄くすることで発電機構の小型化を実現し、かつ渦巻きバネの径方向外側への伸びきりを原因とする発電機構の破損を抑制することができる。

 図1は、本発明の第1実施形態に係る電子機器1の平面図である。この実施形態では、電子機器1を腕時計としたが、他の機器、例えば懐中時計や、電子方位計等の計器や通信機器であってもよい。いずれにせよ、後述するように電子機器1には電子機器1自体の姿勢の変化を利用して発電する発電機構が搭載されることが予定されているから、その姿勢の変化が頻繁になされるような機器、例えば小型携帯式の機器であることが好ましい。
 電子機器1は図示のとおり指針式の時計であり、時針、分針、秒針が電子機器1の中央に配置された指針軸2を回転中心として、同軸に設けられている。しかしながら指針の数や配置はこれに限定されるものでなく任意であるし、また液晶ディスプレイや有機ELディスプレイを利用して情報を表示するいわゆるデジタル式のものであってもよく、これらを組み合わせたものであってもよい。もちろん、電子機器1が時計でない場合には電子機器1はその機能に応じた外観となる。
 電子機器1は、ケース4の内部に後述する発電機構、ムーブメント及び蓄電デバイスを収容しており、それらの機構は文字板3の背後に配置され覆い隠されている。図1に例示した文字板3のデザインも又任意であり、文字板3自体を透明なものとしたり省略したりしてケース4内部の機構を視認できるようにする、いわゆるスケルトン仕様としてもよい。その場合、本実施形態では後述するように文字板3のすぐ背後に発電機構が配置されているため、電子機器1の使用者はかかる発電機構を視認することとなる。しかしながら、ケース4の内部に収容される各機構の配置も又任意である。
 図2は、本実施形態に係る電子機器1の断面図である。ケース4内には、ムーブメント5が収容されており、ムーブメント5の上側に発電機構6、文字板3がこの順に配置されている。また、ムーブメント5の下側には、蓄電デバイス7が取り付けられている。これらの機構は、ケース4に下側から挿入され、裏蓋8によりケース4内に固定される。また、文字板3の中央からはムーブメント5から延びる指針軸2が発電機構6を貫通して突出しており、各指針が取り付けられる。ケース4の上側には、ガラス等の透明な風防9が取り付けられ、各指針や文字板を保護している。
 本実施形態では、発電機構6の平面視における外径はほぼムーブメント5のものと等しく、発電機構6とムーブメント5とが電子機器1の高さ方向に積み重ねられる構造となっているが、この構造は必須のものではない。発電機構6とムーブメント5の上下の配置を逆転させてもよいし、発電機構6をムーブメント5の一部として組み込むようにしてもよい。
 以降、各部材について簡単に説明すると、文字板3は、発電機構6の上面に設けられ、その表面に時字を始めとする各種の表示を設けることにより、電子機器1の使用者が指針が指す時刻を読み取ることができるようにするものである。文字板3の材質は特に限定されず、合成樹脂や貝殻や岩石等の天然材料、各種金属を用いてよい。
 ムーブメント5は、指針を駆動するための輪列とモータ、時刻を計時する水晶振動子を含む時計回路、電子機器1全体を制御するコントローラ等を地板と呼ばれる枠に一体に組み付けたものである。ムーブメント5は、ムーブメント5に取り付けられた蓄電デバイス7から電力を得て動作する。蓄電デバイス7は、ムーブメント5に電力を供給すると同時に、発電機構6により発電された電力を蓄積するものであり、ここでは、ボタン型のリチウム二次電池である。しかしながら、蓄電デバイス7の形状や種類は特に限定されるものではなく、各種二次電池以外にも、リチウムイオンキャパシタ等の電気二重層コンデンサを使用してもよい。
 発電機構6は、エレクトレットを用いた回転型の発電装置であり、電子機器1の姿勢の変化、例えば、使用者の腕に着用された状態における、歩行時の腕の動きによる振動のエネルギーを回転錘10により回転運動として取り出し、渦巻きバネ11を介してエレクトレット電極12を回転振動させ、対向電極13より電気的エネルギーとして回収するものである。なお、本実施形態では、回転錘10は発電機ケース16に固定されたベアリング17により、エレクトレット電極12は発電機ケース16に回転支持された中空軸18に固定されることにより、それぞれ指針軸2と同軸に自由回転可能に支持されている。なお、この構成は一例であり、回転錘10とエレクトレット電極12がそれぞれ自由回転可能に支持されていればその支持方法や回転軸の位置は限定されない。
 図3は、発電機構6の作動原理を説明する概略回路図である。図示のように、エレクトレット電極12と対向電極13は、所定のわずかな間隔をあけて平行となるように対向して配置されており、両者は、その面内の方向に相対的にある程度の移動ができるように支持されている。本実施形態では、対向電極13が固定され、エレクトレット電極12がその面内で回転振動するように支持されている。
 エレクトレット電極12の対向電極13側の面には、エレクトレット膜14が所定の帯電状態となるように形成されている。図示の例では、エレクトレット膜14の対向電極13側が負電荷を持つように帯電している。そして、エレクトレット膜14及び対向電極13は平面形状が実質的に等しい縞形状であり、両者の相対移動により、エレクトレット膜14と対向電極13が正対する状態とそうでない状態が入れ替わる。
 これにより、対向電極13がエレクトレット膜14に正対している状態では、エレクトレット膜14の表面電荷に誘導されて対向電極13に反対極性の電荷が蓄積される(図示の例では、正電荷が対向電極13に蓄積される)。その後、エレクトレット電極12が移動し、エレクトレット膜14が対向電極13に正対しない状態となると、対向電極13に誘導され蓄積された電荷が掃き出され、整流回路15により整流されて蓄電デバイス7に蓄積される。ムーブメント5等の負荷は、こうして蓄電デバイス7に蓄積された電力を使用して駆動される。
 ここで、エレクトレット膜14の材料には、帯電しやすい材料を用い、例えば負電荷に帯電する材料としては酸化珪素や、フッ素樹脂等がある。かかる材料の具体的な一例として、旭硝子株式会社製のフッ素樹脂であるCYTOP(登録商標)が挙げられる。さらに、その他にもエレクトレット膜14の材料としては、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリビニルクロライド、ポリスチレン、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン、ポリビニルデンジフルオライド、ポリビニルフルオライド等の高分子材料や、前述の酸化珪素、窒化珪素、酸化窒化珪素等の無機材料も使用することができる。
 図4は、発電機構6の斜視図である。発電機ケース16に設けられた開口からは、回転錘10と、エレクトレット電極12及び対向電極13が部分的に見えている。なお、同図では、発電機ケース16に遮られて一部見えない部分を破線で示した。
 図示のように、回転錘10は回転の中心となる軸Cに対してその重心が偏るように設けられており、発電機構6(すなわち、電子機器1)の姿勢の変化や作用する加速度に応じて軸C周りに自由に回転するように支持されている。一方、エレクトレット電極12は、図示のように放射状に多数のスリットが設けられており、周方向に縞形状に形成されている。エレクトレット電極12の対向電極13と対向する面(図中下面)にはエレクトレット膜14が形成される。エレクトレット電極12もまた、軸C周りに自由に回転するように支持されている。なお、この実施形態では、エレクトレット電極12の重心の位置は軸Cに一致する。
 一方、対向電極13は発電機ケース16に固定されている。なお、図示の構造においてエレクトレット電極12と対向電極13を入れ替えてもよいが、対向電極13は図3に示した整流回路15への配線が必要であることから、固定するようにした方が発電機構6の構造が簡素なものとなる。
 そして、回転錘10とエレクトレット電極12とは、渦巻きバネ11により互いに接続される。これにより、渦巻きバネ11がその自由長にある場合にはエレクトレット電極12は特に回転運動をすることはないが、回転錘10が姿勢の変化による重力加速度や外部から作用する加速度により回転すると、渦巻きバネ11は巻き上げられ又は巻き出されることとなるから、渦巻きバネ11とエレクトレット電極12は回転錘10に対し単振動系を構成し、エレクトレット電極12は回転振動を始める。このエレクトレット電極12の回転振動により対向電極13に誘導される電荷を回収し整流することにより発電機構6は発電を行う。
 図5は、本実施形態に係る発電機構6の主要部の構造の模式断面図である。図示するように、回転錘10は回転の中心となる軸Cに対しベアリング17により自由回転可能に支持され、また、エレクトレット電極12は軸Cに対し中空軸18により同じく自由回転可能に支持されている。そして、回転錘10とエレクトレット電極12とは渦巻きバネ11により、軸C周りの回転運動を互いに弾性的に支持されている。エレクトレット電極12の対向電極13に向き合う面にはエレクトレット膜14が形成され、対向電極13は図示しない発電機ケース16に固定されている。
 かかる構造では、渦巻きバネ11は回転錘10とエレクトレット電極12に取り付けられ、発電機ケース16等の固定部材に取り付けられないから、全体として自由回転可能であり、巻き上がってしまったり、伸びきったりすることはない。また、回転錘10の慣性モーメントIとエレクトレット電極12の慣性モーメントIは、I>Iとなるように定められる。通常、腕の振り等の使用者の動作により回転錘10が検出する回転振動の周波数は、3~5Hz程度であるが、エレクトレットを利用した振動発電においては、実験の結果、30~40Hz以上の回転振動において発電効率が最大となることが見出されている。そして、単振動の周期は慣性モーメントの平方根に反比例するため、I>Iとすることにより、エレクトレット電極12を回転錘10より高い周期で振動させることができ、より効率的に発電をすることができる。
 なお、本発明は、自由回転可能に支持され、重心が回転中心から偏った少なくとも1つの第1の回転部材と、自由回転可能に支持された少なくとも1つの第2の回転部材と、前記第1の回転部材と前記第2の回転部材をその回転運動に関し互いに弾性的に接続する弾性部材と、前記第2の回転部材と対向して設けられる固定部材と、を有し、前記第2の回転部材と前記固定部材のいずれかの表面にエレクトレット膜14が設けられた発電機構を備えた電子機器として一般化して記述することができるが、本実施形態では、回転錘10が第1の回転部材に、エレクトレット電極12が第2の回転部材に、渦巻きバネ11が弾性部材に、そして対向電極13が固定部材に相当し、エレクトレット膜14はエレクトレット電極12、すなわち、第2の回転部材に設けられることとなる。
 図6は、発電機構6の第1の変形例に係る斜視図である。この変形例は、先の図4に示した例に対し、エレクトレット電極12の外周の一部分に第二回転錘19が取り付けられている点が異なっている。エレクトレット電極12は、この第二回転錘19が取り付けられたため、その重心の位置が回転軸Cから偏った位置となる。また、この変形例でも先の例と同様に、回転錘10の慣性モーメントIとエレクトレット電極12の慣性モーメントIの値を互いに異なるものとする(本変形例では、I>I)。このようにすることにより、この発電機構6の系は連成振動系となり、固有角振動数を2つ持つことになるから、外部から与えられる種々の振動に対し、より広範囲の周波数にわたり運動エネルギーを回収することができるようになり、発電効率が向上する。
 さらに、平面視において、軸Cに対する回転錘10の重心の向きをW、軸Cに対するエレクトレット電極12の重心の向きをEとし、WとEがなす角度をθとしたときに、0°<θ<180°とすることが好ましく、より好ましくは、45°<θ<135°とする。本変形例では、θ=90°である。
 この構成には、2つの効果が期待できる。図7は、軸Cが水平方向を向いている場合の、WとEの向きを示す図である。図中縦の軸は鉛直方向を、横の軸は水平方向を示す。この状態では、図示のように、WとEとはその合成重心の軸Cに対する向きが鉛直下向きとなる向きで安定する。このとき、重力により、回転錘10には、Wが鉛直下向きとなるように図中で時計回りの、エレクトレット電極12にはEが鉛直下向きとなるように図中で反時計回りのトルクが発生する。これらのトルクは渦巻きバネ11をわずかに巻き上げ又は巻き出すように作用するため、自由状態において渦巻きバネ11は若干巻き上げられ又は巻き出された状態となる(すなわち、図中WとEがなす角はθより小さい)。ここで、発電機構6に外部からの振動が入力された時、渦巻きバネ11が弛緩状態にあるときはその振動を拾って振動を開始しにくい傾向にあるのに対し、渦巻きバネ11が緊張状態にある時は、振動に対し鋭敏に反応し速やかに振動を開始する傾向がある。そのため、本変形例の構成は、外部からの振動に対する感受性が高まるという第1の効果が期待できる。
 また、回転錘10とエレクトレット電極12の慣性モーメント値の差は主としてその質量差に起因しているため、ここでは図示のように、Wが概ね鉛直下向きに近い向きに、Eが概ね水平方向に近い向きとなって安定する。そのため、回転錘10の重心は概ね水平方向に移動しやすく、エレクトレット電極12の重心は概ね鉛直方向に移動しやすいから、発電機構6に水平方向の振動が与えられた場合には当該振動を回転錘10が、また鉛直方向の振動が与えられた場合には当該振動をエレクトレット電極12が吸収する。そのため、本変形例の構成は、発電機構6に加えられる振動の向きによらず発電できるという第2の効果が期待できる。
 図8は、本変形例に係る発電機構6の主要部の構造の模式断面図である。この例においても、回転錘10及びエレクトレット電極12は軸Cに対し自由回転可能に支持され、渦巻きバネ11により、軸C周りの回転運動を互いに弾性的に支持されている。エレクトレット電極12の外周部には第二回転錘19が取り付けられている。なお、第二回転錘19のエレクトレット電極12への固定は、これまで示したように、エレクトレット電極12の上面に固定する態様に限定されない。その他にも、第二回転錘19をエレクトレット電極12の外周面に固定したり、エレクトレット電極12が固定される中空軸18(図2参照)に別途固定するようにしてもよい。
 発電機構6は、さらなる変形が可能である。図9は、発電機構6の第2の変形例に係る主要部の構造の模式断面図である。この変形例では、回転錘を用いる代わりに、エレクトレット電極を2つ用いるようにしている。
 すなわち、第1のエレクトレット電極12aと第2のエレクトレット電極12bの2つがそれぞれ軸Cに対し自由回転可能に支持されており、それぞれエレクトレット膜14が互いに向き合う側の面に設けられている。第1のエレクトレット電極12aと第2のエレクトレット電極12bの間には絶縁性の固定基板20が配置され、その両面にそれぞれ、第1のエレクトレット電極12aと向き合うように第1の対向電極13aと、第2のエレクトレット電極12bと向き合うように第2の対向電極13bが設けられる。第1のエレクトレット電極12aの外周部には第二回転錘19が、第2のエレクトレット電極12bの外周部には第三回転錘21がそれぞれ設けられる。そして第1のエレクトレット電極12aと第2のエレクトレット電極12bとは、渦巻きバネ11により、軸C周りの回転運動を互いに弾性的に支持されている。
 この構造では、第1のエレクトレット電極12aの回転振動と、第2のエレクトレット電極12bの回転振動の両方から発電する。そのため、エレクトレット膜14の面積を広くとり、なおかつコンパクトな構成とすることができる。また、第二回転錘19が取り付けられることにより、第1のエレクトレット電極12aの重心は軸Cから偏っており、第三回転錘21が取り付けられることにより、第2のエレクトレット電極12bの重心もまた軸Cから偏ることとなる。先の変形例で説明したと同様に、この変形例においても、第1のエレクトレット電極12aの慣性モーメントIe1と第2のエレクトレット電極Ie2の値は異なることが望ましい。また、平面視における軸Cに対する第1のエレクトレット電極12aの重心の向きをE1、第2のエレクトレット電極12aの重心の向きをE2として、E1とE2がなす角度をθとしたときに、0°<θ<180°とすることが好ましく、より好ましくは、45°<θ<135°とする。この変形例では、θ=90°である。
 なお、本変形例を先に述べた本発明の一般化表現に照らし説明すると、第1の回転部材は第1のエレクトレット電極12aと第2のエレクトレット電極12bのいずれか一方であればよく、第2の回転部材はそのいずれか他方となる。渦巻きバネ11が弾性部材に、そして第1の対向電極13a又は第2の対向電極13bが固定部材に相当することとなる。
 図10は、発電機構6の第3の変形例に係る主要部の構造の模式断面図である。この変形例では、回転錘に加え、エレクトレット電極を2つ用いるようにしている。
 すなわち、回転錘10、第1のエレクトレット電極12a及び第2のエレクトレット電極12bの3つがそれぞれ軸Cに対し自由回転可能に支持されている。エレクトレット膜14は、第1のエレクトレット電極12aと第2のエレクトレット電極12bが互いに向き合う側の面に設けられている。さらに第1のエレクトレット電極12aと第2のエレクトレット電極12bの間には絶縁性の固定基板20が配置され、その両面にそれぞれ、第1のエレクトレット電極12aと向き合うように第1の対向電極13aと、第2のエレクトレット電極12bと向き合うように第2の対向電極13bが設けられる。第1のエレクトレット電極12aの外周部には第二回転錘19が、第2のエレクトレット電極12bの外周部には第三回転錘21がそれぞれ設けられる。そして回転錘10と第1のエレクトレット電極12aとは第1の渦巻きバネ11aにより、また、第1のエレクトレット電極12aと第2のエレクトレット電極12bとは、第2の渦巻きバネ11bにより、軸C周りの回転運動を互いに弾性的に支持されている。
 この構造では、回転錘10、第1のエレクトレット電極12a及び第2のエレクトレット電極12bの3つの部材が自由回転可能であり、それぞれ弾性的に支持されることにより、3自由度の連成振動系を構成している。そのため、本変形例では系の固有角振動数は3つとなり、より幅広い周波数の振動入力に対して発電が可能である。
 なお、本変形例においても、回転錘10の慣性モーメントI、第1のエレクトレット電極12aの慣性モーメントIe1及び第2のエレクトレット電極Ie2の値は互いに異なることが望ましい。また、最も慣性モーメントの大きい部材は回転錘10とすることが望ましく、図11に示すように、平面視における軸Cに対する回転錘10の重心の向きをW、第1のエレクトレット電極12aの重心の向きをE1、第2のエレクトレット電極12bの重心の向きをE2とし、WとE1がなす角度をθ1、WとE2がなす角度をθ2としたときに、0°<θ1<180°、0°<θ2<180°とすることが好ましく、より好ましくは、45°<θ1<135°、45°<θ2<135°とする。この変形例では、θ1=θ2=90°である。
 なお、本変形を先に述べた本発明の一般化表現に照らし説明すると、回転錘10が第1の回転部材に相当し、第2の回転部材は第1のエレクトレット電極12aと第2のエレクトレット電極12bの複数(2つ)が存在することになる。第1の渦巻きバネ11a及び第2の渦巻きバネ11bは弾性部材に、第1の対向電極13a及び第2の対向電極13bは固定部材にそれぞれ相当し、これらも又複数(2つ)存在することとなる。そして、複数の第2の回転部材、すなわち、第1のエレクトレット電極12aと第2のエレクトレット電極12bは、弾性部材(第2の渦巻きバネ11b)によりその回転運動に関し互いに弾性的に接続される。
 なお、以上の例では回転錘が1つのみ、エレクトレット電極は1つ又は2つの場合を示したが、以下同様に、さらにこれらの数を増加させることも可能である。その場合、自由回転する部材を、順に渦巻きバネにて軸Cの周りの回転運動を互いに弾性的に支持し、全体としていわゆる連成振動系を構成するようにするとよい。系の自由度が増すごとに固有角振動数の数が増加するので、より広範な周波数に対する応答が可能となる。
 図12は、本発明の第2実施形態に係る発電機構26の模式断面図である。なお、以下で説明する第2実施形態の発電機構26の作動原理は、第1実施形態で説明したものと同様であるため、その詳細な説明については省略する。図12に示すように、発電機構26は、エレクトレット電極22と、対向電極23と、固定車50とを有し、それらを発電機ケース16に収容する。第2実施形態においては、エレクトレット膜24がエレクトレット電極22の両面に形成され、それぞれのエレクトレット膜24に向き合うように対向電極23が発電機ケース16に固定して設けられている。固定車50は、増速機30と噛み合うギア部51と、発電機ケース16に軸支される回転軸52とを有し、重心が回転中心から偏った回転錘10の回転力が増速機30を介して増速して伝達されることにより回転軸51を中心に回転する。なお、増速機30はギア比の異なる複数の歯車によって構成される増速輪列であってもよい。また、増速機30は必須の構成ではないので、増速機30を有さず、回転錘10と固定車50が同軸上で回転する構成であってもよい。
 また、エレクトレット電極22の回転中心部には貫通孔が形成されており、その貫通孔に固定車50の回転軸51が挿通されている。そして、エレクトレット電極22の貫通孔の内周面22aと、固定車50の回転軸51の外周面をその回転運動に関し互いに弾性的に接続するように、渦巻きバネ11がエレクトレット電極22の内周面22a側に収容される。なお、エレクトレット電極22と渦巻きバネ11はMEMS(Micro Electro Mechanical System)技術を用いて一体に成型してもよい。
 また、エレクトレット電極22と対向電極23が適切な間隔を維持できるように、エレクトレット電極22には、エレクトレット電極22の回転に伴い発電機ケース16に摺動するガイド部22bが設けられている。ガイド部22bは、環状であってもよいし、周方向の一部に設けられるものでもよい。また、ガイド部22bは、エレクトレット電極22側ではなく、発電機ケース16側に固定して設けられて、回転するエレクトレット電極22に摺動する構成であってもよい。
 さらに、図12に示した例では、ガイド部22bは、エレクトレット電極22の径方向内側に設けられているが、これに限定されず、径方向外側、例えば、外周縁に設けてもよく、径方向内側と外側の両方に設けてもよい。また、ガイド部22bの材質は摩擦が小さく摺動性に優れたものが好ましく、例えば、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)等のフッ素樹脂や、油含有焼結金属等を用いてもよい。あるいは摺動面にこれらの材質の膜を設けてもよい。
 以上説明した構成を採用することにより、第2実施形態においては、渦巻きバネ11の径方向外側への広がりがエレクトレット電極12の貫通孔の内周面22aにより規制される。そのため、第1実施形態で説明した効果に加えて、渦巻きバネ11の径方向外側への伸びきりを原因とする発電機構26の破損を抑制する効果が期待できる。また、渦巻きバネ11がエレクトレット電極12の内周面22a側に収容される分、発電機構26の回転軸51方向の厚みを薄くできるため、発電機構26の小型という効果も期待できる。
 さらに、エレクトレット電極22が渦巻きバネ11により支持されることから、その厚み方向の位置が変化しやすくなるが、エレクトレット電極22との間隙はガイド部22bにより一定に保たれる。
 なお、第2実施形態を本発明の一般化表現に照らすと、回転錘10が第1の回転部材に、エレクトレット電極22が第2の回転部材に、渦巻きバネ11が弾性部材に、対向電極23が固定部材に、そして貫通孔の内周面22aが規制部に相当する。
 図13は、本発明の第3実施形態に係る発電機構36の要部斜視図である。図13においては、第3実施形態の特徴的部分を示すための便宜上、回転錘、エレクトレット電極及び対向電極は不図示とする。
 発電機構36は、固定車150と、エレクトレット電極と一体に回転するエレクトレット電極軸70を有する。エレクトレット電極軸70は、不図示の発電機ケースに回転可能に支持される。なお、固定車150、エレクトレット電極、対向電極は、エレクトレット電極軸70の軸線方向において、固定車150、エレクトレット電極、対向電極の順に並んで配置される。
 固定車150は、自由回転可能に支持され重心が回転中心から偏った回転錘から回転力が伝達されることで回転する。また、固定車150の回転中心部には貫通孔が形成されており、その貫通孔にエレクトレット電極軸70が挿通されている。そして、固定車150とエレクトレット電極軸70は、渦巻きバネ11によってその回転運動に関し互いに弾性的に接続されている。なお、エレクトレット電極軸70と渦巻きバネ11はMEMS(Micro Electro Mechanical System)技術を用いて一体に成型してもよい。
 さらに、図13に示すように、固定車150の面上(本実施形態では下面)であって渦巻きバネ11の径方向外側には、環状の壁60が形成されている。この壁60によって渦巻きバネ11の径方向外側への広がりが規制される。そのため、第1実施形態で説明した効果に加えて、渦巻きバネ11の径方向外側への伸びきりを原因とする発電機構36の破損を抑制する効果が期待できる。なお、図13では壁60が周方向の全周に亘って環状に形成されているが、この構成に限られるものではなく、渦巻きバネ11の広がりを規制するものであれば、例えば、周方向の一部にのみ壁が設けられる構成でもよい。また、壁部60は、第2実施形態で説明したガイド部22bの役割を兼用してもよい。すなわち、壁部60は、エレクトレット電極と対向電極とが適切な間隔を維持できるよう、エレクトレット電極22に摺動する構成であってもよい。なお、第3実施形態を本発明の一般化表現に照らすと、回転錘(不図示)が第1の回転部材に、エレクトレット電極(不図示)が第2の回転部材に、対向電極(不図示)が固定部材に、そして壁60が規制部に相当する。
 以上、本発明に係る実施形態について説明したが、この実施形態に示した具体的な構成は一例として示したものであり、本発明の技術的範囲をこれに限定することは意図されていない。当業者は、これら開示された実施形態を適宜変形してもよく、本明細書にて開示される発明の技術的範囲は、そのようになされた変形をも含むものと理解すべきである。

Claims (10)

  1.  自由回転可能に支持され、重心が回転中心から偏った少なくとも1つの第1の回転部材と、
     自由回転可能に支持された少なくとも1つの第2の回転部材と、
     前記第1の回転部材と前記第2の回転部材をその回転運動に関し互いに弾性的に接続する弾性部材と、
     前記第2の回転部材と対向して設けられる固定部材と、を有し、前記第2の回転部材と前記固定部材のいずれかの表面にエレクトレット膜が設けられた発電機構を備えた電子機器。
  2.  前記第1の回転部材の慣性モーメントの値と前記第2の回転部材の慣性モーメントの値は互いに異なる請求項1に記載の電子機器。
  3.  前記第1の回転部材の慣性モーメントの値は前記第2の回転部材の慣性モーメントの値より大きい請求項2に記載の電子機器。
  4.  前記弾性部材の弛緩状態において、前記第1の回転部材の回転中心からみた重心方向と、前記第2の回転部材の回転中心からみた重心方向とがなす角θは、0°<θ<180°である請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の電子機器。
  5.  前記第2の回転部材の表面に前記エレクトレット膜が設けられた請求項1~4のいずれかに記載の電子機器。
  6.  前記第2の回転部材は、重心が回転中心から偏っている請求項1~5のいずれかに記載の電子機器。
  7.  前記第1の回転部材の表面にエレクトレット膜が設けられ、
     前記第1の回転部材と対向して設けられる追加の固定部材が設けられる請求項1~6のいずれかに記載の電子機器。
  8.  前記第2の回転部材、前記固定部材及び前記弾性部材は複数設けられ、
     前記複数の第2の回転部材は、前記弾性部材によりその回転運動に関し互いに弾性的に接続される請求項1~7のいずれかに記載の電子機器。
  9.  前記弾性部材の径方向外側への広がりを規制する規制部を有する請求項1~8のいずれかに記載の電子機器。
  10.  前記第2の回転部材の回転中心部には貫通孔が設けられ、
     前記弾性部材は前記貫通孔の内周面側に収容される請求項1~8のいずれかに記載の電子機器。
