Description

空気入りタイヤ
 本発明は、空気入りタイヤに関するものである。
 近年、車両に対する静粛性の向上が要求されており、タイヤに対しては、転がり抵抗などの要求される多様な性能を維持しながら、タイヤから発する騒音の低減が求められている。例えば、カーカス層と、踏面部に設けられるベルト層との間において、タイヤ赤道面と交差する位置にゴム層を配置し、断面2次の振動モードの周波数帯域を低周波側にシフトさせることにより、騒音の低減を図ることが提案されている(特許文献1参照)。

 しかしながら、特許文献1に記載で提案されているような、カーカス層とベルト層との間のゴム層の追加配置は、所期したカーカスラインの形成に影響を与えやすいので、一部のタイヤに対しては、特許文献1に提案されたような構成を適用しにくかった。
 したがって、かかる事情に鑑みてなされた本発明は、カーカスラインに影響を与えること無く騒音を低減しながら、さらに転がり抵抗の増大も抑制し得るタイヤを提供することを目的とする。
 上述した諸課題を解決すべく、本発明のタイヤは、インナーライナーを備える空気入りタイヤであって、前記タイヤのサイド部の少なくとも一部における前記インナーライナーの厚みが1.5mm以上であり、前記タイヤをリムに組込み、内圧を250kPa以上とした際に、前記タイヤの断面幅SWが165mm未満である場合は、前記タイヤの断面幅SWと外径ODとの比SW/ODは、0.26以下であり、前記タイヤの断面幅SWが165mm以上である場合は、前記タイヤの断面幅SWおよび外径ODは、OD≧2.135×SW+282.3を満たすことを特徴とする。「リム」とは、タイヤのビード幅に対応した幅のものをいう。本発明のタイヤによれば、上記下限値以上の厚みのインナーライナーにより、タイヤの騒音を低減可能である。また、本発明のタイヤによれば、インナーライナーの厚みを大きくするので、所期のカーカスラインの形成には影響を及ぼさない。また、本発明のタイヤによれば、タイヤの断面幅SWと外径ODとが特定の関係を有するように、タイヤを形成するので、転がり抵抗の増大が抑制される。
 また、本発明のタイヤでは、前記インナーライナーの厚みが2.8mm以下であることが好ましい。このような構成によれば、転がり抵抗の増大が確実に抑制される。
 また、本発明のタイヤでは、前記サイド部の少なくとも一部における、前記インナーライナーの厚みは、他の部分の厚みより大きいことが好ましい。このような構成によれば、タイヤの騒音をさらに低減可能である。
 上記のように構成された本発明によれば、カーカスラインに影響を与えること無く80から100Hzの車内騒音を低減しながら、転がり抵抗の増大も抑制し得るタイヤを提供することができる。

 以下、本発明の実施形態について、図面を参照して説明する。
 まず、本発明の一実施形態に係る空気入りタイヤ(以下、単に「タイヤ」ともいう。)について説明する。図1は、本実施形態に係る空気入りタイヤの、リムに組み付け、300kPaの内圧を充填し、荷重を加えない無負荷の状態のタイヤの片側半部の、タイヤ幅方向部分断面図である。なお、図1においては、タイヤの他方の半部の図示を省略している。本発明における各種形状は、特に断りのない限り、この状態でのものとする。
 図1に示すように、本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10は、1対のビード部11、ビード部11に連なるサイドウォール部12、および両サイドウォール部12間を連結するトレッド部13からなる。さらに空気入りタイヤ10は、1対のビード部11に埋設された1対のビードコア14間にトロイダル状に跨るラジアル配列のコードのプライからなるカーカス15と、カーカス15のクラウン部におけるタイヤ径方向外側に配設された傾斜ベルト16と、カーカス15の内側に配設されたインナーライナー17とを備えている。
 ビード部11およびサイドウォール部12とからなるサイド部18の少なくとも一部におけるインナーライナー17の厚みは、1.5mm以上である。なお、インナーライナー17の厚みとは、インナーライナー17の最薄部位における厚みをいう。なお、本実施形態においては、幅方向断面における全域においてインナーライナー17の厚みは、1.5mm以上となっている。また、図1において、インナーライナー17(後述する第1のインナーライナーゴム19および第2のインナーライナーゴム20)の厚みは、明瞭化のために実際よりやや強調してやや厚く描かれている。
 内圧を250kPa以上とした際に、図2に示すように、空気入りタイヤ10の断面幅SWおよび外径ODは、以下の関係を満たしている。即ち、空気入りタイヤ10の断面幅SWが165mm未満である場合は、SW/ODが0.26以下である。また、空気入りタイヤ10の断面幅SWが165mm以上である場合は、OD≧2.135×SW+282.3である。
 このような構成によれば、以下に説明するように、カーカスラインの形成に影響を与えること無く、80Hzから100Hzの車内騒音を低減可能である。
 インナーライナー17を肉厚化することにより、断面1次の振動モードによるタイヤの振動の減衰効果が向上してゆく。そこで、上記の通り、1.5mm以上の厚みのインナーライナー17を配設することにより、タイヤの騒音の大きな要因である断面1次の振動モードによる振動が抑制され、空気入りタイヤ10の80Hzから100Hzの車内騒音を低減可能である。また、タイヤの構成要素の中で、肉厚化させるのは、カーカス15の内側に配設されるインナーライナー17なので、カーカスラインに影響を与えることを防止可能である。また、インナーライナーは既存のタイヤの部材であるため、部材数を増やすこと無く、騒音を低減することができる。
 ところで、現在のタイヤ製品開発においては、要求される空気透過性を満たす範囲内で、インナーライナーに発生するロスを抑制し転がり抵抗を向上すべく、インナーライナーの薄肉化が一般的に求められている。
 本発明の検討過程においても、インナーライナーの肉厚化による転がり抵抗の増加が予想された。しかし、空気入りタイヤ10の断面幅SWおよび外径ODが、上記関係を有する、狭幅大径のタイヤであれば、トレッド部14の接地時におけるタイヤ幅方向の変形が抑制され、また偏心変形が抑制される。したがって、通常のサイズのタイヤに比べて、断面幅SWおよび外径ODが上記の関係を有する、狭幅大径のサイズのタイヤでは、インナーライナーを肉厚化しながらもインナーライナーのロスの増大に伴う転がり抵抗の増大が抑制される。
 さらに、本実施形態では、インナーライナー17の厚みが、2.8mm以下とされている。
 上記の通り、2.8mm以下の厚みのインナーライナー17を用いることにより、インナーライナー17の重量に上限が設けられ、転がり抵抗の増大を確実に抑制可能である。
 なお、上記と同様の観点から、インナーライナー17の厚みは、より好ましくは、1.6mm以上2.4mm以下、更に好ましくは、1.8mm以上2.2mm以下である。
 さらに、本実施形態では、サイド部18の少なくとも一部における、インナーライナー17の厚みは、他の部分より厚くされている(図1参照)。なお、ここで、サイド部18における、インナーライナー17の部分は、サイド部18の内面側における、ビード部11のタイヤ径方向内側端から傾斜ベルト16のタイヤ幅方向のベルト端が配置されるタイヤ幅方向端までの部分をいうものとする。例えば、均一な厚みの第1のインナーライナーゴム19の更に内側において、サイド部18の少なくとも一部において、別の第2のインナーライナーゴム20を更に配設することにより、サイド部18の少なくとも一部において、インナーライナー17の厚みを、他の部分より厚くすることが可能である。
 このような構成によれば、インナーライナー17の、断面1次の振動モードによるタイヤの振動の抑制に大きく寄与する部分の厚みのみを、さらに肉厚化するので、インナーライナー17の重量の増加を抑制しながらも、騒音をいっそう低減可能である。
 さらに、本実施形態では、インナーライナー17を構成するゴム組成物の空気透過係数が1.0×10-14cc・cm/(cm2・s・cmHg)以上6.5×10-10cc・cm/(cm2・s・cmHg)以下である。このような構成によれば、インナーライナー17の高い空気バリア性を保持し、タイヤの内圧を高く維持しながら、重量および製造コストの増加を抑制可能となる。
 また、本実施形態では、インナーライナー17を構成するゴム組成物の-40℃における動的貯蔵弾性率E´が、500MPa以上8000MPa以下である。このような構成によれば、低温におけるインナーライナー17の割れを防止しながら十分なタイヤの成型性を得ることが可能である。
 また、本実施形態では、インナーライナー17を構成するゴム組成物の損失正接(tanδ)は0.1以上0.3以下である。このような構成によれば、弾性率の維持および損失増大を抑制可能である。
 また、本実施形態では、インナーライナー17の厚みが全体で均一であってもよい。また、本実施形態では、傾斜ベルト16は、互いに交差し、タイヤ赤道面CLに対して傾斜したコードを有する2層の傾斜ベルト層によってなっている。

 なお、本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10は高内圧にて使用することが好ましい。具体的には、タイヤ10の内圧は、250kPa以上であることが好ましい。接地長が増大しやすいが、250kPa以上とすることにより接地長の増大を抑えて、トレッドゴムの変形量を低減し、転がり抵抗をさらに低減することができる。
 ここで、本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10では、トレッドを占める溝量を少なくすることがウェット性能とその他の性能との両立の観点から好ましい。具体的には、溝体積率(溝体積V2/トレッドゴム体積V1)を20%以下とすることが好ましく、また、ネガティブ率(トレッド踏面の面積に対する、溝面積の割合)を20%以下とすることが好ましい。これらの値は、従来サイズの空気入りタイヤにおける標準的な値よりも低い値である。
 ウェット性能を向上させるには、溝量を増やすのが一般的な考え方であるが、図3(b)に、図3(a)との対比で示すように、狭幅大径サイズである本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10の場合には、接地面の幅Wが狭くなるため、水がタイヤ幅方向に排出されやすくなる。このため、溝量を減らしてもウェット性能は維持され、かつ陸部剛性の向上によりコーナリングパワーなど他性能も向上させることができるのである。
 なお、溝体積率は、例えば、傾斜ベルト16を構成する傾斜ベルト層のうちタイヤ幅方向に最大幅を有する、最大幅傾斜ベルト層の幅方向両端部よりタイヤ幅方向内側にあり、且つ、タイヤ幅方向中央位置における、タイヤ径方向最外側の補強部材21よりタイヤ径方向外側にあるトレッドゴムの体積をV1とし、トレッド踏面に形成した溝の合計体積をV2とするとき、比V2/V1と定義される。
 本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10は、例えば図4に示す例のように、2本の周方向溝31、32もしくは周方向溝32とトレッド端TEとによりタイヤ幅方向を区画された、リブ状陸部33、34を主体とするトレッドパターンであることが好ましい。ここでリブ状陸部33、34とはタイヤ幅方向に横断する幅方向溝を有さずにタイヤ周方向に延びる陸部をいうが、リブ状陸部33、34はサイプやリブ状陸部内で終端する幅方向溝は有していてもよい。このことは、従来サイズの標準的な空気入りタイヤにおいては、ウェット性能を向上させるために幅方向溝を有するパターンが多くみられるのに対し対照的である。
 これは、本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10は、接地幅が狭く、また、特に高内圧(例えば250kPa以上)使用下において高接地圧となるため、周方向せん断剛性を増加させることによりウェット路面上での接地性が向上するためと考えられる。
 図4の例のように、リブ状陸部33、34を主体とするトレッドパターンでは、タイヤ赤道面CLを中心とするトレッド幅TWの80%のタイヤ幅方向領域においてリブ状陸部のみからなる(すなわち、幅方向溝を有しない)トレッドパターンとすることができる。このタイヤ幅方向領域における排水性能が特にウェット性能への寄与が大きいためである。
 ここで、「トレッド端TE」とは、タイヤをリムに装着し、タイヤを装着する車両毎に規定される内圧を充填し、産業規格に定められ、あるいは、将来的に定められる最大負荷荷重、あるいは、産業規格に記載のないサイズの場合は、最大乗員数を想定した時に、4輪の中で最も荷重のかかるタイヤへの負荷荷重を負荷した際に、路面に接地することとなる接地面のタイヤ周方向全域にわたる領域のうち、タイヤ幅方向最外側の位置をいう。
 「産業規格」とは、使用される地域に有効な産業規格であって、日本ではJATMA(日本自動車タイヤ協会)のJATMA YEAR BOOK、欧州ではETRTO(The European Tyre and Rim Technical Organization)のSTANDARDS MANUAL、米国ではTRA(The Tire and Rim Association,Inc.)のYEAR BOOKを指す。
 「タイヤを装着する車両毎に規定される内圧」とは、上記産業規格に定められ、あるいは、将来的に定められる最大負荷荷重に対応する空気圧をいい、上記産業規格に記載のないサイズの場合は、最大乗員数を想定した時に、4輪の中で最も荷重のかかるタイヤへの負荷荷重に対応する空気圧をいうものとする。
 「トレッド幅TW」とは、トレッド端TE間のタイヤ幅方向の距離をいうものとする。
 また、図4に示すように、トレッド踏面にサイプ30を設けることにより、様々な性能を向上させることができる。
 特にウェット性能を向上させる観点からは、サイプ30は、その両端部のうち一方の端が溝に開口し他方の端が陸部内で終端する、片側開口サイプ30であることがましい。片側開口サイプ30によって接地面内の水膜を除去しつつ、両端開口サイプの場合との対比で周方向せん断剛性を増大させることができるため、周方向せん断剛性向上によるウェット性能向上の効果を得ることができるためである。同様の理由により、図4に示すように、片側開口サイプ30をリブ状陸部33、34主体のパターンと組み合わせて用いることが好ましい。
 本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10において、さらにウェット性能を向上させる観点からは、高剛性ゴムをトレッドゴムに用いた場合に、トレッド踏面に、図4に示すような小穴35や、図5に示すような周方向サイプ36を、設けることが好ましい。高剛性ゴムを用いた場合は、周方向せん断剛性が増大して排水が促進されるが、一方で、タイヤと路面との実接地面積が減少してウェット性能を押し下げる要因となりうる。そこで、ゴムの圧縮剛性を低下させる周方向サイプ及び/又は小穴を用いることにより、ゴムの圧縮剛性を低減して実接地面積を増大させることができる。ここで、小穴35及び/又は周方向サイプ36は、周方向せん断剛性を低減させる効果が十分に小さいため、周方向せん断剛性の向上によるウェット性能の向上効果は維持することができる。
 ここで、本実施形態にあっては、タイヤ10の車両装着方向が指定される場合には、タイヤ赤道面CLを境界とした車両装着内側と車両装着外側とのタイヤ幅方向半部間でネガティブ率に差を設けてもよい。
 本実施形態にあっては、図6に示す例のように、タイヤ赤道面CLの近傍からトレッド端TEまでタイヤ幅方向に延びる幅方向溝37を有するトレッドパターンとしてもよく、この場合は、周方向溝を含まなくてもよい。図6の例のような幅方向溝37が主体のトレッドパターンによれば、特に雪上性能を効果的に発揮することができる。
 本実施形態において、図4、図5、及び図7に示されるような、リブ状陸部33、34のうち、タイヤ幅方向最外側の周方向溝32とトレッド端TEとにより区分されるショルダーリブ状陸部34に関しては、様々な構成を採用することができる。例えば、車両装着方向が指定されるタイヤおいて、車両装着外側と内側におけるショルダーリブ状陸部34のタイヤ幅方向の幅を変えることもできる。なお、操縦安定性を考慮した場合には車両装着外側のショルダーリブ状陸部34のタイヤ幅方向の幅を車両装着内側のショルダーリブ状陸部34のタイヤ幅方向の幅よりも大きくすることが好ましい。
 本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10は、図7に示すように、バックリングを抑制してコーナリングパワーを向上させる観点からは、タイヤを車両に装着した際に周方向溝32から車両装着内側に延びる一端開口溝42を設けることが好ましい。より具体的には、トレッド踏面における、タイヤ赤道面CLを境界とする少なくとも一方の半部において、トレッド端TEに隣接し、且つトレッド端TEとのタイヤ幅方向の距離が、トレッド幅TWの25%以上離間した、タイヤ周方向に延びるトレッド端TE側の周方向溝32を有し、その周方向溝32とトレッド端TEとによって区画されるショルダーリブ状陸部34に隣接するリブ状陸部33の1つに、トレッド端TE側の周方向溝32からタイヤ幅方向に延びて前記隣接する陸部33内に留まる、少なくとも1本の一端開口溝42を有することが好ましい。なお、図7における、溝43は、周方向溝32よりも溝深さの小さい浅溝である。
 本実施形態のように、狭幅大径サイズの空気入りタイヤの場合には、車両装着外側では圧縮応力を受け、車両装着内側では引張応力を受けることとなり、これらの応力により、トレッドゴムが変形し、ベルトが変形して、接地面が浮き上がってしまう。
 ここで、トレッド端TE側の周方向溝32からタイヤ幅方向に延びてリブ状陸部33内に留まる一端開口溝42を有するため、リブ状陸部33内の車両装着外側においては、圧縮応力により一端開口溝42が閉じる構造となるため、一端開口溝42を設けない場合や、一端開口溝42が車両装着外側まで延びていない場合と比べて、圧縮応力によるトレッドやベルトの変形が抑制される。
 さらに、一端開口溝42がリブ状陸部33内に留まるため、車両装着内側まで一端開口溝42が延在している場合と比較して、車両装着内側での引張応力に対する剛性が高くなり、これによりトレッドやベルトの変形が抑制される。
 本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10においては、図1に示すように、タイヤ幅方向断面にて、タイヤ赤道面CLにおけるトレッド表面上の点Pを通りタイヤ幅方向に平行な直線をm1とし、トレッド端TEを通りタイヤ幅方向に平行な直線をm2として、直線m1と直線m2とのタイヤ径方向の距離を落ち高LCRとするとき、比LCR/TWを0.045以下とすることが好ましい。比LCR/TWを上記の範囲とすることにより、タイヤ10のクラウン部がフラット化(平坦化)し、接地面積が増大して、路面からの入力(圧力)を緩和して、タイヤ径方向の撓み率を低減し、タイヤの耐久性及び耐摩耗性を向上させることができる。
 本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10においては、高弾性ゴムをトレッドゴムに用いることがウェット性能を向上させる観点から好ましい。このことは、従来サイズの空気入りタイヤでは低弾性ゴムを用いる方が、ウェット性能が向上する傾向にあるのに対して対照的である。狭幅大径サイズである本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10は、接地幅が狭く、また、特に高内圧使用化において高接地圧となるため、周方向せん断剛性を増大させることによりウェット路面上での接地性が向上するためと考えられる。
 高弾性ゴムとは、具体的には30℃における動的貯蔵弾性率E’が、6.0~12.0MPaであることが好ましい。この範囲を満たすことにより、空気入りタイヤ10においてウェット性能をさらに向上させることができる。さらにトレッドゴムの60℃における損失正接tanδが、0.05~0.15であることが好ましい。この範囲を満たすことにより、転がり抵抗をさらに低減することができる。
 本実施形態では、上記の高弾性ゴムを使用したトレッドゴムに加えて、図4、図5、及び図7に示すようなリブ状陸部33、34主体のトレッドパターンを使用することにより、さらに周方向せん断剛性を増大させて、ウェット性能を向上させることができる。
 本実施形態のタイヤ10において、トレッドゴムは、異なる複数のゴム層がタイヤ径方向に積層されて形成されていても良い。上記の複数のゴム層としては正接損失、モジュラス、硬度、ガラス転移温度、材質等が異なっているものを用いることができる。また、複数のゴム層のタイヤ径方向の厚さの比率は、タイヤ幅方向に変化していてもよく、また周方向溝31、32(図1)の溝底のみ等をその周辺と異なるゴム層とすることもできる。
 本実施形態では、トレッドゴムはタイヤ幅方向に異なる複数のゴム層で形成されていても良い。上記の複数のゴム層としては正接損失、モジュラス、硬度、ガラス転移温度、材質等が異なっているものを使用することができる。また、複数のゴム層のタイヤ幅方向の幅の比率は、タイヤ径方向に変化していてもよく、また、周方向溝31、32近傍のみ、トレッド端TE近傍のみ、ショルダー陸部34のみ、センター陸部33のみといった限定された一部の領域のみを、その周囲とは異なるゴム層とすることもできる(図1)。
 本実施形態のタイヤ10において、傾斜ベルト16を構成する傾斜ベルト層は、1層のみとすることもできる。但し、傾斜ベルト16を構成する傾斜ベルト層が1層のみでは旋回時の接地面形状が歪みやすいため、傾斜ベルト16は、互いに層間でコードが交差する方向に延びる2層以上の傾斜ベルト層からなることが好ましい。本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10では、傾斜ベルト16が、図1の例のように、2層の傾斜ベルト層からなることが、最も好ましい。
 本実施形態のタイヤ10では、傾斜ベルト16を構成する傾斜ベルト層のうち、最もタイヤ幅方向の幅の大きな最大幅傾斜ベルト層のタイヤ幅方向の幅が、トレッド幅TWの90%~115%であることが好ましく、トレッド幅TWの100%~105%であることが特に好ましい。
 本実施形態において、傾斜ベルト16を構成する傾斜ベルト層のベルトコードとしては、金属コード、特にスチールコードを用いるのが最も一般的であるが、有機繊維コードを用いることも可能である。スチールコードはスチールを主成分とし、炭素、マンガン、ケイ素、リン、硫黄、銅、クロムなど種々の微量含有物を含むことができる。
 本実施形態において、傾斜ベルト16を構成する傾斜ベルト層のベルトコードはモノフィラメントコードや、複数のフィラメントを撚り合せたコードを用いることができる。撚り構造も種々の設計が採用可能であり、断面構造、撚りピッチ、撚り方向、隣接するフィラメント同士の距離も様々なものを用いることができる。さらには異なる材質のフィラメントを撚り合せたコードを用いることもでき、断面構造としても特に限定されず、単撚り、層撚り、複撚りなど様々な撚り構造を取ることができる。
 本実施形態では、傾斜ベルト16を構成する傾斜ベルト層のベルトコードの傾斜角度は、タイヤ周方向に対して10°以上とすることが好ましい。
 本実施形態では、傾斜ベルト16を構成する傾斜ベルト層のベルトコードの傾斜角度を高角度、具体的にはタイヤ周方向に対して35°以上、特にタイヤ周方向に対して55°~85°の範囲とすることが好ましい。
 傾斜角度を35°以上とすることにより、タイヤ幅方向に対する剛性を高め、特にコーナリング時の操縦安定性能を向上させることができる。また、層間ゴムのせん断変形を減少させて、転がり抵抗性能を向上させることができる。
 本実施形態のタイヤ10は、図8に示すように、傾斜ベルト16を構成する傾斜ベルト層51、52のタイヤ径方向外側に、1層以上の周方向ベルト層53、54からなる周方向ベルトを有することができる。図8の例では、2層の周方向ベルト層53、54が互いにタイヤ径方向に重なっている。
 傾斜ベルト層51、52のベルトコードのタイヤ周方向に対する傾斜角度θ1、θ2が35°以上の場合には、周方向ベルト53、54は、タイヤ赤道面CLを含む中央領域Cの単位幅あたりのタイヤ周方向剛性が、その他の領域の単位幅あたりのタイヤ周方向剛性より高いことが好ましい。例えば、当該中央領域Cにおける周方向ベルト層53、54の層数をその他の領域より多くすることにより、中央領域Cの単位幅あたりのタイヤ周方向剛性を、その他の領域の単位幅あたりのタイヤ周方向剛性より高くすることができる。
 図8の例のように、傾斜ベルト層51、52のベルトコードがタイヤ周方向に対して35°以上で傾斜するタイヤの多くは、400Hz~2kHzの高周波域において、断面方向の1次、2次および3次等の振動モードにて、トレッド踏面が一律に大きく振動する形状となるため、大きな放射音が生じる。そこで、トレッド部13のタイヤ幅方向中央領域Cのタイヤ周方向剛性を局所的に増加させると、トレッド部13のタイヤ幅方向中央領域Cがタイヤ周方向に広がり難くなり、トレッド踏面のタイヤ周方向への広がりが抑制される結果、放射音を減少させることができる。
 さらに、上述のごとく、タイヤ赤道面CLを含む中央領域Cのタイヤ周方向の剛性を高めたタイヤでは、トレッド部13はトレッド踏面の少なくともタイヤ赤道面CLを含む領域に、タイヤ周方向に連続するリブ状陸部を有することが好ましい。タイヤ赤道面CL上又はその付近に周方向溝を配置すると、当該領域におけるトレッドの剛性が低下して、該周方向溝を区画する陸部における接地長が極端に短くなる場合がある。そこで、タイヤ赤道面CLを含む一定領域にわたって、タイヤ周方向に連続するリブ状陸部を配置することが、コーナリングパワーを低減させることなく騒音性能を改善する観点から好ましい。
 図9は、ベルト構造の他の例を概略的に示しており、2層の傾斜ベルト層61、62のタイヤ径方向外側に、1層の周方向ベルト層63が積層されている。
 本実施形態にあっては、図9に示す例のように、少なくとも1層の傾斜ベルト層61のベルトコードの傾斜角度が35°以上の場合には、タイヤ幅方向の幅の異なる2層の傾斜ベルト層61、62を少なくとも含み、最広幅の傾斜ベルト層61をなすコードのタイヤ周方向に対する傾斜角度θ1と、最狭幅の傾斜ベルト層62をなすコードのタイヤ周方向に対する傾斜角度θ2とが、35°≦θ1≦85°、10°≦θ2≦30°、及び、θ1>θ2を満たすことが好ましい。
 図9の例のように、タイヤ周方向に対して35°以上で傾斜するベルトコードを有する傾斜ベルト層61を備えたタイヤの多くは、400Hz~2kHzの高周波域において、断面方向の1次、2次および3次等の振動モードにて、トレッド踏面が一律に大きく振動する形状となるため、大きな放射音が生じる。そこで、トレッド部13のタイヤ幅方向中央領域のタイヤ周方向剛性を局所的に増加させると、トレッドのタイヤ幅方向中央領域がタイヤ周方向に広がり難くなり、トレッド面のタイヤ周方向への広がりが抑制される結果、放射音を減少させることができる。
 図10は、ベルト構造の別の例を概略的に示しており、2層の傾斜ベルト層71、72のタイヤ径方向外側に、1層の周方向ベルト層73が積層されている。
 本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10においては、図8~図10に示すような周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73は、高剛性であることが好ましく、より具体的にはタイヤ周方向に延びるコードのゴム引き層からなり、コードのヤング率をY(GPa)、打ち込み数をn(本/50mm)とし、周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73をm層として、X=Y×n×mと定義するとき、1500≧X≧750であることが好ましい。狭幅大径サイズである本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10においては、路面からの旋回時における入力に対しタイヤ周方向において局所的な変形を起こし、接地面は略三角形状、すなわち、タイヤ幅方向の位置によって周方向の接地長が大きく変化する形状となりやすい。これに対し、高剛性の周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73とすることにより、タイヤのリング剛性が向上して、タイヤ周方向の変形が抑制されることとなるため、ゴムの非圧縮性により、タイヤ幅方向の変形も抑制され、接地形状が変化しにくくなる。さらには、リング剛性が向上することにより偏心変形が促進され、転がり抵抗も同時に向上する。この転がり抵抗の向上効果は、本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10において、特に向上効果の幅が大きくなる。
 さらに、上記のように高剛性の周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73を用いた場合には、傾斜ベルト層51、61、71、72のベルトコードのタイヤ周方向に対する傾斜角度を高角度、具体的には35°以上とすることが好ましい。高剛性の周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73を用いた場合には、タイヤ周方向の剛性が高くなることにより、タイヤによっては、接地長が減少してしまうことがある。そこで、高角度の傾斜ベルト層を用いることにより、タイヤ周方向の面外曲げ剛性を低下させて、踏面変形時のゴムのタイヤ周方向の伸びを増大させ、接地長の減少を抑制することができる。
 また、本実施形態では、周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73には、破断強度を高めるために波状のコードを用いてもよい。同様に破断強度を高めるために、ハイエロンゲーションコード(例えば破断時の伸びが4.5~5.5%)を用いてもよい。
 さらに、本実施形態では、周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73には、種々の材質が採用可能であり、代表的な例としては、レーヨン、ナイロン、ポリエチレンナフタレート(PEN),ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)、アラミド、ガラス繊維、カーボン繊維、スチール等が採用できる。軽量化の点から、有機繊維コードが特に好ましい。
 ここで、本実施形態では、周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73のコードはモノフィラメントコードや、複数のフィラメントを縒り合せたコード、さらには異なる材質のフィラメントを縒り合せたハイブリットコードを採用することもできる。
 また、本実施形態では、周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73のコードの打ち込み数は、20~60本/50mmの範囲とすることができるが、この範囲に限定されるのもではない。
 さらに、本実施形態では、タイヤ幅方向に周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73の剛性・材質・層数・打ち込み密度等の分布を持たせることもでき、例えばタイヤ幅方向端部のみにおいて、周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73のの層数を増やすこともでき、一方でセンター部のみにおいて、周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73の層数を増やすこともできる。
 また、本実施形態では、周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73は、傾斜ベルト層51、52、61、62、71、72よりも広幅または狭幅に設計することができる。例えば、傾斜ベルト層51、52、61、62、71、72のうちタイヤ幅方向の幅の最も大きい最大幅傾斜ベルト層52、61、71の90%~110%のタイヤ幅方向の幅とすることができる。
 ここで、周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73は、スパイラル層として構成することが製造の観点から特に有利である。
 なお、本実施形態では、周方向ベルト層53、54、63、73を設けないことも可能である。
 本実施形態では、カーカスラインには様々な構造を採用することができる。例えば、カーカス15のタイヤ径方向でのカーカス最大幅位置をビード部11側に近づけることも、トレッド部13側に近づけることもできる。例えば、カーカス15のタイヤ径方向でのカーカス最大幅位置は、ビードベース部からタイヤ径方向外側に、タイヤ断面高さの50%~90%の範囲に設けることができる。
 また、本実施形態では、カーカス15も様々な構造を採用することができる。例えば、カーカス15を構成するカーカスコードの打ち込み数としては、20~60本/50mmの範囲とすることができるが、これに限定されるものではない。
 さらに、例えば、図11に示すように、カーカス15の折り返し端15aをビードフィラ82のタイヤ径方向端よりもタイヤ径方向内側に位置させることができる。あるいは、カーカス折り返し端15aをビードフィラ82のタイヤ径方向外側端やタイヤ径方向でのタイヤ最大幅位置よりもタイヤ径方向外側に位置させ、場合によっては傾斜ベルト16のタイヤ幅方向端よりもタイヤ幅方向内側まで延在させることもできる。さらに、カーカス15が複数層のカーカスプライで構成される場合には、各カーカスプライの折り返し端のタイヤ径方向位置どうしを互いに異ならせることもできる。また、カーカス15に、そもそもカーカス折り返し部を存在させずに、複数のビードコア部材で挟みこんだり、ビードコア14に巻きつけた構造を採用したりすることもできる。
 本実施携帯の空気入りタイヤ10においては、サイド部18を薄くすることが好ましい。「サイド部18を薄くする」とは、例えば、ビードフィラ82のタイヤ幅方向断面積S1を、ビードコア14のタイヤ幅方向断面積S2の1倍以上4倍以下とすることができる。また、タイヤ径方向でのタイヤ最大幅位置におけるサイドウォール部12のゲージTsと、ビードコア14のタイヤ径方向中心位置におけるビード幅Tbとの比Ts/Tbを、15%以上40%以下とすることができる。また、タイヤ径方向でのタイヤ最大幅位置におけるサイドウォール部12のゲージTsと、カーカス15のカーカスコードの径Tcとの比Ts/Tcを5以上10以下とすることができる。
 なお、ゲージTsはゴム、カーカス15、インナーライナー17などすべての部材の厚みの合計となる。また、ビードコア14がカーカス15によって複数の小ビードコアに分割されている構造の場合には、全小ビードコアのうち幅方向最内側端部と最外側端部の距離をTbとする。
 本実施形態では、タイヤ10のタイヤ径方向でのタイヤ最大幅位置を、ビードベース部からタイヤ径方向外側に、タイヤ断面高さの50%~90%の範囲に設けることができる。
 本実施形態のタイヤ10は、リムガードを有する構造とすることもできる。
 本実施形態のタイヤ10は、ビードフィラ82を設けない構造とすることもできる。
 本実施形態では、ビードコア14は断面円形や断面多角形状など、様々な構造を採用することができる。
 本実施形態では、ビード部11には補強等を目的としてゴム層・コード層等をさらに設けることもできる。このような追加部材はカーカス15やビードフィラ82に対して様々な位置に設けることができる。
 本実施形態では、インナーライナー17は、ブチルゴムを主体としたゴム層のほか、樹脂を主成分とするフィルム層によって形成することもできる。
 本実施形態では、空洞共鳴音を低減するために、タイヤ内面に、多孔質部材を配置したり、静電植毛加工を行ったりすることもできる。
 本実施形態のタイヤ10は、タイヤ内面に、パンク時の空気の漏れを防ぐためのシーラント部材を備えることもできる。
 本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10は、図11に示すように、サイド部18に断面三日月型のサイド補強ゴム81を有した、サイド補強型ランフラットタイヤとすることもできる。
 図11に示す例のように、本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10において、サイド補強型ランフラットタイヤとする場合には、サイド部18を簡素化させた構造により、ランフラット耐久性と燃費性能の両立を実現することができる。狭幅大径サイズである空気入りランフラットタイヤの場合には、ランフラット走行時に、サイド部18及びトレッド部13の変形が相対的に小さく、一方でショルダー部からバットレス部にかけて相対的に変形が大きくなるという知見に基づくものである。この変形は、従来サイズではサイド部に変形が相対的に大きくなるのと対照的である。このような、狭幅大径サイズに特徴的な変形のために、簡素化構造によってもランフラット耐久性を十分に確保し、かつ燃費性能をさらに向上させることができる。
 具体的な簡素化手法としては少なくとも以下の(i)~(iii)のいずれか一つの条件を満たすことにより可能となる。
 (i)図11に示すように、カーカス15のカーカス折り返し部の折り返し端15aが、タイヤ10のタイヤ径方向でのタイヤ最大幅位置よりもタイヤ径方向内側に位置する。
 (ii)タイヤ10をリムに組み込み、所定の内圧を充填し、無負荷とした、基準状態の際のタイヤ幅方向断面における、サイド補強ゴム81のタイヤ径方向最大長さをH1とし、ビードフィラ82のタイヤ径方向最外点とビードコア14のタイヤ径方向最外点とを結んだ線分の長さをH2とするとき、1.8≦H1/H2≦3.5、を満たす。ここで、図11の例のように、ビードフィラ82のタイヤ径方向最外点とビードコア14のタイヤ径方向最外点とを結んだ線分の長さH2が複数存在する場合は、そのうち最大のものを、該長さH2として用いる。
 (iii)関係式、10(mm)≦(SW/OD)×H1≦20(mm)を満たす。
 本実施形態の空気入りタイヤ10では、図11に示すように、サイド補強型ランフラットタイヤである場合、タイヤ幅方向最外側の周方向溝32を、タイヤ幅方向のタイヤ赤道面CLよりに配置することにより、ランフラット耐久性の更なる向上を実現することができる。これは、狭幅大径サイズである図11の例の空気入りランフラットタイヤの場合には、ランフラット走行時に、サイド部18及びトレッド部13の変形が相対的に小さく、一方でショルダー部からバットレス部にかけて相対的に変形が大きくなるという知見に基づくものである。この変形は、従来サイズではサイド部に変形が相対的に大きくなるのと対照的である。このような、狭幅大径サイズに特徴的な変形のために、タイヤ幅方向最外側の周方向溝32をタイヤ赤道面CLよりに配置することで、ランフラット走行時のショルダー陸部からバットレス部にかけての接地性を高めることができ接地圧が緩和される。この結果として、ランフラット耐久性をさらに向上させることができる。
 具体的には、タイヤをリムに組み込み、所定の内圧を充填し、無負荷とした、基準状態の際のタイヤ幅方向断面における、傾斜ベルト16を構成する1層以上のベルト層のうちタイヤ幅方向の幅が最大のベルト層のタイヤ幅方向の半幅をWBとし、タイヤ幅方向の幅が最大のベルト層のタイヤ幅方向端部から1本以上の周方向溝31、32のうちタイヤ幅方向最外側の周方向溝32のタイヤ幅方向中心位置までのタイヤ幅方向距離をWGとするとき、関係式、0.5≦WG/WB≦0.8を満たすことが好ましい。
 次に本発明に従う空気入りタイヤを試作して、転がり抵抗および車内騒音に関する性能評価を行ったので、以下で説明する。タイヤサイズが195/65R15(通常サイズ、断面幅SW=205mm、外径OD=630mm)の比較例1、2、ならびにタイヤサイズが165/60R19(狭幅大径サイズ、断面幅SW=175mm、外径OD=680mm)の比較例3および実施例1から5の空気入りタイヤを試作した。比較例1から3の空気入りタイヤおよび実施例1から5の空気入りタイヤにつき、以下の方法で車内騒音および転がり抵抗を評価した。結果を表1に示す。

 比較例1、2のタイヤをリムサイズ6.5J-15のリムに組付け、また比較例3および実施例1から5のタイヤをリムサイズ5.5J-19のリムに組付け、それぞれ内圧300kPaを付与した後、走行試験用ドラム上で荷重4.28kNを与えて、時速40km、60km、80km、100kmで回転させて車内でノイズ(騒音)レベルを測定し、これら測定値の平均を算出した。結果を表1に、比較例1を基準とした騒音の変化量(dB)で示した。いずれも値が小さいほど良好である。
(転がり抵抗性能の評価)
 比較例1、2のタイヤをリムサイズ6.5J-15のリムに組付け、また比較例3および実施例1から5のタイヤをリムサイズ5.5J-19のリムに組付け、それぞれ内圧300kPaを付与した後、直径1.7mの鉄板表面を持つドラム試験機(速度:80km/h)を用いて、車軸の転がり抵抗力を求めた。この転がり抵抗の測定はISO18164に準拠し、スムースドラム、フォース式にて実施したものである。結果を表1に、比較例1の値を100とする指数にて示した。いずれも値が小さいほど良好である。

 表1に示すように、比較例2では、比較例1に比べて騒音性能が向上するものの、転がり抵抗性能が低下する。また、比較例3では、比較例1に比べて転がり抵抗性能が向上するものの、騒音性能が低下する。一方で、実施例1から5は、比較例1に比べて、騒音性能が向上しながら、転がり抵抗性能を同等に維持または向上する。したがって、本発明の空気入りタイヤによれば、騒音を低減しながら、転がり抵抗の増大も抑制し得ることが分かる。

Claims (3)

  1.  インナーライナーを備える空気入りタイヤであって、
     前記タイヤのサイド部の少なくとも一部における前記インナーライナーの厚みが1.5mm以上であり、
     前記タイヤをリムに組込み、内圧を250kPa以上とした際に、
     前記タイヤの断面幅SWが165mm未満である場合は、前記タイヤの断面幅SWと外径ODとの比SW/ODは、0.26以下であり、
     前記タイヤの断面幅SWが165mm以上である場合は、前記タイヤの断面幅SWおよび外径ODは、関係式OD≧2.135×SW+282.3を満たす、ことを特徴とする空気入りタイヤ。
  2.  前記インナーライナーの厚みが2.8mm以下である、請求項1に記載の空気入りタイヤ。
  3.  前記サイド部の少なくとも一部における、前記インナーライナーの厚みは、他の部分の厚みより大きい、請求項1または2に記載の空気入りタイヤ。
