Dans un premier réglage, un mécanisme d'entraînement de tige selon cette structure de porte déplace une tige coulissante de sorte que la face inférieure d'un élément suspendu et la face supérieure d'un loquet de poignée sont superposées dans la vue en plan de dessus. Dans un second réglage, le mécanisme d'entraînement de tige déplace la tige coulissante de sorte que la face inférieure de l'élément suspendu et la face supérieure du loquet de poignée ne sont pas superposées dans la vue en plan de dessus. Lorsque la première porte est verrouillée, l'élément suspendu est positionné plus haut que la face supérieure du loquet de poignée. Si l'on tente de tourner la poignée dans une direction de déverrouillage de la première porte après que la première porte a été verrouillée et que le premier réglage est défini dans le mécanisme d'entraînement de tige, la face inférieure de l'élément suspendu vient en butée contre la face supérieure du loquet de poignée, ce qui arrête la rotation de la poignée.
