- the invention concerns a pen with a barrel and an applicator, in which the barrel has a depression for gripping and the applicator has a contour that is not rotationally symmetrical with reference to a longitudinal axis of the pen and may be adjusted around the longitudinal axis in the direction of rotation with reference to the depression for gripping.
- Pens of the type indicated in the introduction are known from DE 26 43 816 A1 for example. According to this the applicator, which has a nib, is held in the barrel in the axial direction only because of frictional resistance. It is very difficult to adjust the frictional force that occurs in this properly. That is to say if it is too big, it is difficult to adjust from a first to a second rotational position. If it is too small, there is the risk that the applicator will become loose from the holder. A further difficulty consists of the frictional force being able to change over time through ageing and environmental influences, particularly changes in temperature, for example. DE-AS 1 275 410 shows a further pen of the type indicated above.
- the invention is based on the task of developing the pen of the type indicated in the introduction further in such a way that simple production is ensured. Furthermore, the applicator should also be held on the barrel in a reliable way.

- Such lack of symmetry is particularly simple to produce. Tooth type structures may be provided for example, which have a steeper edge on one side than on the other side.

- a latching device which allows the applicator to be applied in preset rotational positions with reference to the depression for gripping.
- the applicator not to be able to be applied to the barrel in any possible rotational position with reference to the depression for gripping. Rather two or more possible rotational positions are preset in a fixed way.
- This arrangement prevents the pen from being put together with a rotational position of the applicator with reference to the depression for gripping that is not correct. Furthermore, the latching device prevents the rotational position of the applicator (unintentionally) changing with reference to the depression for gripping when screwing the screw connection together.

- An ink cartridge 22 is inserted into the cartridge chamber 12.
- the ink cartridge 22 has a closing ball 24, which lies inside the ink cartridge 22 after it has been inserted.
- Behind the ink cartridge 22 is a replacement ink cartridge 23, which has not been inserted yet, for which reason its closing ball 25 still closes it.

- a flange 36 of the applicator 14 is supported on a face 38 of the barrel 10. In this way the applicator 14 is locked in the axial direction with reference to the barrel 10.

- a tool 40 which is shown in figures 4 to 7, is used to tighten and loosen the locknut 26.

- the locknut 26 locks if the locknut 26 is turned with the tool in the direction for loosening. That is to say the then working edges of the longitudinal ribs 42 and the longitudinal grooves 46 are comparatively steep. However, if the locknut 26 is screwed together with the tool 40, flatter edges of the longitudinal ribs 42 and the longitudinal grooves 46 come into effect, for which reason only a limited torque may be transferred from the tool 40 to the locknut 26. If this torque is exceeded, the tool 40 slips through. As the longitudinal ribs 42 must jump from one longitudinal groove to another in this, they must be able to get out of the way radially inwards. To make this movement for getting out of the way possible the tool 40 is provided with a longitudinal slot 48 at its working end, which makes it possible to get out of the way.
- the tool 40 is provided with a knurl 50 on the end opposite its working end for better handling. Screwing together and unscrewing the locknut 26 by hand is made easier through this.
- the barrel 10 has three depressions for gripping distributed around its circumference, one of which is illustrated in figure 9 and indicated with reference number 52.
- the applicator 14 and therefore the nib 16 may take up three different positions with reference to this depression for gripping 52, that is to say a neutral position, a position turned by +15° and a position turned by -15°.

- the inner sleeve 58 is made from ABS for example, whereas the coating 60 is made from a considerably softer plastic in order to achieve the desired feel. Even though this is not illustrated in the drawing, the inner sleeve 58 may have breaks in it like windows, through which the coating 60 is sprayed, particularly in the area of the locknut 26. As the coating 60 has a higher friction coefficient, further locking of the locknut 26 is achieved through this, which opposes unintentional loosening of the locknut 26.

Abstract
L'invention concerne un stylo comprenant un corps et un applicateur. Le corps présente un creux de préhension et l'applicateur présente un contour qui n'est pas symétrique en rotation par rapport à un axe longitudinal du stylo, et peut être réglé autour de l'axe longitudinal dans le sens de rotation par rapport au creux de préhension. Selon l'invention, une liaison filetée est réalisée pour verrouiller l'applicateur dans le sens axial et/ou dans le sens de rotation.
