管ねじ継手
 本発明は、一般に油井やガス井の探査や生産に使用されるチュービングおよびケーシングを包含する油井管に用いる管ねじ継手に関する。すなわち、本発明は、OCTG(oil country tubular goods)、ライザー管、ならびにラインパイプなどの鋼管の接続に用いる管ねじ継手に関する。本発明の管ねじ継手は、耐引張破断特性に優れる。
 管ねじ継手は、油井管など産油産業設備に使用される鋼管の接続に広く使用されている。オイルやガスの探索や生産に使用される鋼管の接続には、従来、API(米国石油協会)規格に規定された標準的な管ねじ継手が典型的には使用されてきた。
 近年、原油や天然ガスの井戸は深井戸化が進み、垂直井から水平井や傾斜井等が増えていることから、掘削・生産環境はより苛酷になっている。また、海洋や極地などの劣悪な環境での井戸の開発が増加していることなどから、耐圧縮性能、耐曲げ性能、外圧シール性能など、管ねじ継手への要求性能は多様化している。
 一方で、井戸開発時の掘削量を低減するためには、井戸をスリムにする必要がある。プレミアムジョイントと呼ばれる高性能の特殊な管ねじ継手の中でも、カップリング部材を介さずに管(パイプともいう)同士を直接接続するインテグラル形式の管ねじ継手への要求も高まっている。
 前記プレミアムジョイントは、通常、各パイプの管端側に、テーパねじと、メタルタッチシール部と、トルクショルダ部とを備える。これらは、パイプの一端側に設けられた雄形部であるピンと、同パイプの他端側に設けられた、前記雄形部に螺合または嵌合する雌形部であるボックスとのそれぞれを構成する要素である。これら要素は、継手(管ねじ継手の意、以下同じ)の締付け時に雌雄の同名要素どうしが対面し合うように設計される。

 また、インテグラル継手には、前記ピンと前記ボックスそれぞれにおいて前記テーパねじの領域を軸方向に二分したものがある。前記二分したうちのピン先端側のねじ列とこれに螺合するボックス後端側のねじ列とを第一ねじ列と呼ぶ。一方、ピン後端側のねじ列とこれに螺合するボックス先端側のねじ列とを第二ねじ列と呼ぶ。前記第一ねじ列、第二ねじ列は、径方向(管径方向の意。以下同じ)で云うと、第一ねじ列が内径側、第二ねじ列が外径側になる。前記第一ねじ列と前記第二ねじ列との境界に前記トルクショルダ部は設けてあり、これを中間ショルダと呼ぶ。この中間ショルダが設けられていれば、締付け時にピンとボックスのショルダ面が接触して、締付けトルクが上昇する。締付けトルクを観察して、雌雄ねじとシール面が適正に嵌合したかを確認できる。
 前記中間ショルダを有するインテグラル継手において、前記メタルタッチシール部を軸方向の二箇所に設けた場合、二箇所のうち一つは、前記内側ラジアルシール面を形成するものとする。もう1つのメタルタッチシール部は、前記ピンの第二ねじ列後端に連接したねじ無し部の外周面(便宜上、ピン後端側非ねじ面と云う)、および前記ボックスの第二ねじ列先端に連接したねじ無し部の内周面(便宜上、ボックス先端側非ねじ面と云う)に設けられる。このメタルタッチシール部は、継手の締付け時に、前記ピン後端側非ねじ面と前記ボックス先端側非ねじ面のメタルタッチシール部同士が半径方向に接触して、管外側の流体がテーパねじの領域に進入するのを防止するシール面(便宜上、外側ラジアルシール面と云う)を形成する。
 前記中間ショルダを有するインテグラル継手の従来技術の一例として、特許文献1に記載されたパイプ用ねじ付き継手(管ねじ継手)を図5に示す。特許文献1に記載の発明の目標(課題)は、適当な剛性を維持し、改良されたシールを設けたパイプ用ねじ付き継手を生産すること、および、高荷重に対する、特に圧縮荷重に対する継手の構造的抵抗(特性)を改善すること、前記特性がシール機能に影響しないようにすることである。特許文献1に記載の発明では、前記ボックス先端側非ねじ面のメタルタッチシール部からボックス最先端まで突き出た補強セクションを設け、この補強セクションの長さ、あるいはさらに壁厚(肉厚)を規定し、かつ、前記ボックスの補強セクション全長が相対するピン後端側のパイプ(素管部)と接触を生じないようにしてある。

 しかしながら、以下に述べるとおり、従来の技術では解決されない問題がある。
 油井管は、継手部(前記雄形部と前記雌形部を総称して云う)を有する管を前記継手部にて複数直列に接続して井戸に装入した状態において、地上に近い管ほど、該管の継手部には相対的に大きな引張負荷が作用する。強度的に継手部の疲労破壊や引張破断を回避することは、重要な継手性能の一つである。継手の限界引張負荷を評価するための指標として一般的に用いられる継手効率は次式で与えられる。
継手効率=[雌ねじ領域における危険断面の面積/素管部の公称断面積]×100(%)
 ここで、危険断面とは、継手の引張負荷状態において最も破断が発生し易い管軸直交断面を意味する。また、素管部の公称断面積とは、継手付きパイプから継手部を除いた残りである素管部の公称外径、公称肉厚をそれぞれ円筒外径、円筒肉厚とする円筒の管軸直交断面積を意味する。継手効率は、その値が大きいほど継手の限界引張性能が高いことを示している。
 前記危険断面としては、雌ねじ側ねじ領域の第一ねじ山のロードフランクに位置する断面を採用し、引張負荷試験において危険断面で破断するように継手の設計をする。危険断面以外の断面で破断した場合は、破断時の引張負荷は限界引張負荷に未達であり、限界引張負荷が正しく評価できない。
 雌雄のテーパねじ領域が軸方向に二分されず中間ショルダの無いインテグラル継手の場合、引張負荷試験において設計所期どおり危険断面で破断し、限界引張負荷を正しく評価できている。しかし、中間ショルダを有するインテグラル継手の場合、引張負荷試験において設計所期と違って危険断面以外で破断する試験事例があり、限界引張負荷を正しく評価することができず、問題である。
 中間ショルダを有するインテグラル継手の場合、前記危険断面は本来、中間ショルダの無いインテグラル継手と同様、雌ねじ側で第一ねじ列の第一ねじ部の雌ねじ側に位置する。しかし、中間ショルダを有するインテグラル継手の場合、実際に破断が発生した個所は、設計所期の本来の危険断面の場所とは異なり、中間ショルダ近傍の第二ねじ列の第一ねじ部の雌ねじ側である。ここで、第一又は第二ねじ列の第nねじ部とは、第一又は第二ねじ列においてねじテーパをなす円錐の先端側から第n番目のねじ山がねじ螺旋沿いに1周回する軸方向区間を意味し、前記第一ねじ部とは、n=1の場合である。
 上述した問題に鑑み、本発明は、ラジアルシールタイプで、中間ショルダを有するインテグラル式の管ねじ継手において、引張負荷作用時に前記中間ショルダの近傍(特に、中間ショルダに連なる第二ねじ列の第一ねじ部)の雌ねじ側で破断することを回避し、本来の危険断面箇所である第一ねじ列の第一ねじ部の雌ねじ側で確実に引張破断する管ねじ継手を提供することを課題とした。
 本発明者らは前記課題を解決するためにFEA(有限要素解析)を用いて適切なねじ形状を求める検討を重ねた。その結果、軸方向のねじギャップを適正に管理して、引張時には中間ショルダに連なる第二ねじ列の第一ねじ部の雌ねじ側で破断することなく、確実に設計所期の本来の危険断面である第一ねじ列の第一ねじ部の雌ねじ側で破断し、かつ、圧縮時には主に中間ショルダで負荷を分担する構造とすることが可能であるとの知見を得て本発明をなした。すなわち、本発明は以下のとおりである。
〔1〕管の一端に雄のテーパねじである雄ねじを備えたピンと、前記管の他端に前記雄ねじと螺合する雌のテーパねじである雌ねじを備えたボックスと、を有し、前記ピンと前記ボックスとで管同士を直接接続するインテグラル式であり、前記ピンと前記ボックスとが半径方向に金属接触して流体をシールするラジアルシール構造を備える管ねじ継手であって、前記雌雄のテーパねじのねじ列の中途に形成される中間ショルダを有し、前記中間ショルダの前記雌雄ねじが螺合している状況下で、前記中間ショルダを挟む内径側のねじ列である第一ねじ列及び外径側のねじ列である第二ねじ列のロードフランク側のねじギャップL1G及びL2Gが常にL1G<L2Gの関係を満たすことを特徴とする管ねじ継手。
〔2〕前記第一ねじ列及び前記第二ねじ列の雌雄のねじピッチを標準ねじピッチpとし、前記中間ショルダの前記雌雄ねじが螺合している状況下で、前記第一ねじ列及び前記第二ねじ列のうち、最も中間ショルダ寄りのねじ部のロードフランク側のねじギャップL1Gm及びL2G1が、L1Gm<L2G1となることを特徴とする〔1〕に記載の管ねじ継手。
〔3〕前記第一ねじ列において最内径側の第一ねじ部から少なくとも第三ねじ部までの雌ねじピッチを、前記標準ねじピッチpに代えて、下記(1)式を満たす長ピッチplとしたことを特徴とする〔2〕に記載の管ねじ継手。

 本発明によれば、継手への引張負荷時に第一ねじ列が先にロードフランク面接触を行って引張負荷を分担しているため、後で第二ねじ列がロードフランク面接触を行う際には継手のねじ部全体が引張負荷を分担することとなる。その結果、継手は本来の危険断面箇所で確実に破断する。

 図1は、本発明の実施形態の一例を示す継手の軸方向断面(軸に平行な方向の断面)の模式図である。この一例は、管本体(素管部)1、1Aの肉厚がWTである二つの管を相互接続した状態である。両管とも、管の一端に雄のテーパねじである雄ねじを備えたピン2と、管の他端に前記雄ねじと螺合する雌のテーパねじである雌ねじを備えたボックス3と、を有する。ピン2とボックス3とは、ピン2の雄ねじとボックス3の雌ねじが螺合して両管1、1Aを直接接続するインテグラル形式の継手を構成する。なお、管本体の両端部を増肉加工し、該増肉加工した部位に、ピン2にする管端側には外面ねじ切削加工および内外面非ねじ切削加工を行い、ボックス3にする管端側には内面ねじ切削加工及び内外面非ねじ切削加工を行うことで、ピン2とボックス3とが形成されている。この継手は、ピン2とボックス3とが半径方向に金属接触して流体をシールするラジアルシールタイプの継手でもある。図1の実施形態では、前記金属接触して流体をシールするメタルタッチシール部(以下、略してシール部とも云う)は軸方向に二つある。一つはピン先端側のノーズとボックス後端側のノーズ穴とに設けたシール部4である。もう一つはピン後端側の非ねじ面とボックス先端側の非ねじ面とに設けたシール部4Aである。
 また、この継手は、前記雌雄のテーパねじのねじ列の中途に中間ショルダCを有する。中間ショルダを有するインテグラル継手には、フラッシュ型とセミフラッシュ型とがある。セミフラッシュ型とは、雌ねじ側の管端を拡管加工で外径側に張り出させてねじ加工した雌ねじと、雄ねじ側の管端を縮径加工で内径側に張り出させてねじ加工した雄ねじとを嵌合した継手を意味する。フラッシュ型とは、拡管や縮径加工なしで一方に雌ねじを他方には雄ねじを加工して、それを嵌合した継手を意味する。本発明は、フラッシュ型、セミフラッシュ型のいずれにも適用できる。
 さらに、この継手は、中間ショルダCの雌雄ねじが螺合している状況下で、すなわちピン2側の中間ショルダCとボックス3側の中間ショルダCの軸方向対向面同士が互いに接触し合った状態下で、中間ショルダCを挟む内径側のねじ列である第一ねじ列A、外径側のねじ列である第二ねじ列Bそれぞれのロードフランク側のねじギャップL1G、L2Gが常にL1G<L2Gの関係を満たすようにしてある。すなわち、第一ねじ列Aにおいて最内径側の第一ねじ部A1から最外径側の第mねじ部Amまでのロードフランク側のねじギャップを順にL1Gi(ただしi=1、2、‥‥m)と記号し、第二ねじ列Bにおいて最内径側の第一ねじ部B1から最外径側の第nねじ部Bnまでのロードフランク側のねじギャップをL2Gj(ただし、j=1、2、‥‥n)と記号するとき、公差の範囲内でばらつきはあっても、常にL1Gi<L2Gjの関係が満たされるようにねじギャップを設定してある。
 これにより、継手に引張負荷が作用した際、第一ねじ列Aが先にロードフランクの雌雄接触を生じて引張負荷を分担しているため、後から第二ねじ列Bがロードフランクの雌雄接触を生じるときには、継手のねじ部全体が引張負荷を分担することになる。
 従来では、引張負荷時に第二ねじ列Bが第一ねじ列Aより先にロードフランクの雌雄接触を生じて第二ねじ列Bの第一ねじ部B1の雌ねじ側の断面CCS2で破断が起ることがあった。これに対し、本発明では、第一ねじ列Aが第二ねじ列Bより先にロードフランクの雌雄接触を生じるので、前記断面CCS2で破断することはなく、確実に設計所期の本来の危険断面である第一ねじ列Aの第一ねじ部A1の雌ねじ側の断面CCS1で破断する。
 前記〔2〕、〔3〕、〔4〕に記載の本発明(便宜上、手段〔2〕、〔3〕、〔4〕と云う)はそれぞれが何れも前記〔1〕に記載の本発明(便宜上、手段〔1〕と云う)において、L1Gi<L2Gjが常に成り立つようにねじギャップを設定するための手段であり、これらについて以下に説明する。
 手段〔2〕では、手段〔1〕において、第一ねじ列A、第二ねじ列Bの雌雄のねじピッチを標準ねじピッチpとした。さらに、手段〔2〕では、中間ショルダCの雌雄接触下で、第一ねじ列A、第二ねじ列Bそれぞれの最も中間ショルダC寄りのねじ部の各ロードフランク側のねじギャップL1Gm、L2G1が、L1Gm<L2G1となるようにした。これによれば、第一ねじ列A、第二ねじ列Bとも雌雄のねじピッチを標準ねじピッチpとしたから、第一ねじ列A内の各ねじ部のロードフランク側のねじギャップL1Gi(ただし、i=1…m)は何れもL1Gmに等しく、一方、第二ねじ列B内の各ねじ部のロードフランク側のねじギャップL2Gj(ただし、j=1…n)は何れもL2G1に等しい。したがって、L1Gi<L2Gjなる関係が満たされる。
 次に、手段〔3〕では、手段〔2〕において、第一ねじ列Aの第一ねじ部A1から少なくとも第三ねじ部A3までの雌ねじピッチを、前記標準ねじピッチpに代えて下記(1)式を満たす長ピッチplとした。このようなねじピッチ変更をした以外は、手段〔2〕と同様とした。

 手段〔3〕の一例を図2に示す。この例では、第一ねじ列A内の全ねじ部について雌ねじピッチを長ピッチplとしている。これ以外は手段〔2〕と同様とした。図2には第一ねじ列A内の第Aiねじ部におけるi=k、k+1の場合のねじ部A(k)、A(k+1)とこれらそれぞれのロードフランク側のねじギャップL1G(k)、L1G(k+1)を示してある。図示のように、L1G(k)<L2Gj、L1G(k+1)<L2Gj、であることに加え、L1G(k)=L1G(k+1)-(pl-p)である。pl>pであるから、L1Giはねじ部Aiがピン先端側に1ピッチ近づく(iが1つ減る)ごとに(pl-p)ずつ減少し、その結果、全てのねじ部のうちでL1G1が最小になる。したがって、引張負荷の際、第一ねじ列Aの第一ねじ部A1に相対的に高い引張応力及び歪みが発生し、その結果として、第二ねじ列Bの第一ねじ部B1の雌ねじ側の断面CCS2ではなく、設計所期の本来の危険断面CCS1でより確実に破断する。
 ただし、Aiのi全て(i=1…m)にわたる、(pl-p)の累計が、設計上の空隙量(Fw-Mw)を超えてはならないから、(pl-p)×m<Fw-Mw、である。一方、m=d1/p、であるから、結局、plは、(1)式の右側の不等式、pl<p×{1+(Fw-Mw)/d1}、を満たす必要がある。
 なお、図2の例では、第一ねじ列A内の全ねじ部について雌ねじピッチを長ピッチplとしている。しかし、これに限らず、第一ねじ部A1から「少なくとも第三ねじ部A3」(「A(3)~A(m-1)の何れか」)までについて雌ねじピッチを長ピッチplとした場合であっても、前記断面CCS1が確実に危険断面となる効果を奏する。
 次に、手段〔4〕では、手段〔2〕又は手段〔3〕を前提とし、第二ねじ列Bの第一ねじ部B1から少なくとも第三ねじ部B3までの雌ねじピッチを、前記標準ねじピッチpに代えて、下記(2)式を満たす短ピッチpsとした。このようなねじピッチ変更をした以外は、前提とした手段〔2〕又は手段〔3〕と同様とした。

 手段〔4〕の一例を図3に示す。この例では手段〔3〕を前提とし、第二ねじ列B内の全ねじ部について雌ねじピッチを短ピッチpsとしている。これ以外は手段〔3〕と同様とした。図3には第二ねじ列B内の第Bjねじ部におけるj=k、k+1の場合のねじ部B(k)、B(k+1)とこれらそれぞれのロードフランク側のねじギャップL2G(k)、L2G(k+1)を示してある。図示のように、L2G(k)>L1Gi、L2G(k+1)>L1Gi、であることに加え、L2G(k)=L2G(k+1)+(p-ps)である。ps<pであるから、L2Gjはねじ部Bjが中間ショルダC側に1ピッチ近づく(jが1つ減る)ごとに(p-ps)ずつ増加し、その結果、全てのねじ部のうちでL2G1が最大になる。したがって、引張負荷の際、第二ねじ列Bの第一ねじ部B1に相対的に低い引張応力が発生し、その結果として、断面CCS2で破断する可能性は更に低くなる。
 ただし、Bjのj全て(j=1…n)にわたる、(p-ps)の累計が、設計上の空隙量(Fw-Mw)を超えてはならないから、(p-ps)×n<Fw-Mw、である。一方、n=d2/p、であるから、結局、psは、(2)式の左側の不等式、ps>p×{1-(Fw-Mw)/d2}、を満たす必要がある。
 なお、図3の例では、第二ねじ列B内の全ねじ部について雌ねじピッチを短ピッチpsとしている。しかし、これに限らず、第一ねじ部B1から「少なくとも第三ねじ部B3」(「B(3)~B(n-1)の何れか」)までについて雌ねじピッチを短ピッチpsとした場合であっても、前記断面CCS2での破断を確実に回避する効果を奏する。また、図3の例では手段〔3〕を前提としたが、手段〔2〕を前提とした場合でも同様の効果を奏する。
 また、本発明においては、中間ショルダCの高さCh(図1参照)は、80%以上の継手効率を達成するために、管本体1、1Aの肉厚WTの10%以下とするのが好ましく、より好ましくは8%以下である。一方、前記高さChが前記肉厚WTの3%未満であると、中間ショルダCのストッパとしての効果の発現が難しくなるため、前記高さChは前記肉厚WTの3%以上とするのが好ましく、より好ましくは5%以上である。
 また、実井戸の設計においては、管ねじ継手の継手効率に対応した引張の構造強度に対して、ある安全率を適用するため直ちに継手が引張破断することはない。一方で、引張負荷は小さいものの、ドリリングや熱応力で圧縮負荷が作用する場合があり、繰返しの引張/圧縮による疲労破壊がねじ部で発生するリスクがある。
 これに対しても、本発明では、中間ショルダCを設けているため、中間ショルダCが圧縮負荷を受ける主体となる。その結果、ねじ部への繰返しの引張/圧縮負荷による繰返し応力およびひずみ範囲の低減につながり、疲労破壊のリスクも低減できる。
 また、シール部4、4Aに隣接してそれぞれの端部に図示のないショルダを設けた場合、繰返しの引張/圧縮負荷の際、これらショルダだけでなくシール部4、4Aにも変形が及び、シール性が低下するリスクがある。そこで、本発明に係るインテグラル継手では、内面側、外面側の各シール部4、4Aは、半径方向にピン2とボックス3が比較的長い範囲で金属接触して流体をシールするラジアルシールタイプとし、かつ、シール部4、4Aそれぞれの端面は軸方向には非接触となる構造としている。
 本発明において、スタブフランク角が正、スクエアの何れであっても、また、ロードフランク角が正、負、スクエアの何れであっても、本発明の効果は実質的に変わらない。スタブフランク角が10度~30度であり、かつ、ロードフランク角が-10度~0度という条件を満たす場合に、シール部の詳細な形状に関わらず、本発明の効果を奏することが可能であることも見出した。
 なお、スタブフランク側、ロードフランク側とも、軸方向断面における各側の外形直線が軸方向直交線と平行な場合をスクエアと称してフランク角は0度とし、一方、非平行の場合は、ねじ山頂部両側の前記スタブフランク側、ロードフランク側の各外形直線と軸方向直交線の交差角の鋭角側の角度でフランク角を定義した。その符号は、前記ねじ山頂部の軸方向中間に配置した軸方向直交線と前記外形直線の延長線の交点が前記ねじ山頂部よりも、外径側に位置する場合を正、内径側に位置する場合を負とする。
 従来例は、図1に示した中間ショルダCを有するインテグラル継手において、継手効率を80%とし、第一ねじ列A、第二ねじ列Bとも雄ねじ山数を10山とし、ねじピッチを雌雄とも標準ねじピッチpとし、中間ショルダCの高さChを管本体1、1Aの肉厚WTの8%とし、中間ショルダCの雌雄接触下で第一ねじ列Aの各ねじ部Aiのロードフランク側のねじギャップL1Gi(ただし、i=1…10)と第二ねじ列Bの各ねじ部Bjのロードフランク側のねじギャップL2Gj(ただし、j=1…10)との関係条件をL1Gi=L2Gjとし、ロードフランク角を-5とし、スタブフランク角を10度とした。なお、管本体1、1Aは、外径=9.625インチ、肉厚WT=0.545インチの継目無鋼管である。
 本発明例は、上記従来例において、前述の手段〔3〕を前提とした手段〔4〕に従い、中間ショルダCの雌雄接触下でL1G10<L2G1とし、かつ第一ねじ列Aの全ねじ部について雌ねじピッチを標準ねじピッチpに代えて(1)式を満たす長ピッチplとし、かつ第二ねじ列Bの全ねじ部について雌ねじピッチを標準ねじピッチpに代えて(2)式を満たす短ピッチpsとすることで、L1Gi=L2Gjなる関係条件からL1Gi<L2Gjなる関係条件への変更を行い、これ以外は従来例と同様とした。
 図4は、(a)従来例と(b)本発明例とについて、締付け後の引張負荷における各ねじ部のロードフランク面への軸方向反力をFEAで解析した結果を示すグラフである。図示のとおり、従来例では第二ねじ列Bの第一ねじ部(ねじB1)のところで軸方向反力が最大となっているのに対し、本発明例では第一ねじ列Aの第一ねじ部(ねじA1)のところで軸方向反力が最大となっている。
 上記解析結果と符合して、実際の引張負荷試験において、従来例は前記ねじB1のボックス側断面(本来の危険断面とは異なる断面)で引張破断し、限界引張荷重の正しい評価ができなかった。一方、本発明例は前記ねじA1のボックス側断面(本来の危険断面)で引張破断し、限界引張荷重の正しい評価ができた。

  1.  管の一端に雄のテーパねじである雄ねじを備えたピンと、
     前記管の他端に前記雄ねじと螺合する雌のテーパねじである雌ねじを備えたボックスと、を有し、
     前記ピンと前記ボックスとで管同士を直接接続するインテグラル式であり、前記ピンと前記ボックスとが半径方向に金属接触して流体をシールするラジアルシール構造を備える管ねじ継手であって、
     前記雌雄のテーパねじのねじ列の中途に形成される中間ショルダを有し、
     前記中間ショルダの前記雌雄ねじが螺合している状況下で、前記中間ショルダを挟む内径側のねじ列である第一ねじ列及び外径側のねじ列である第二ねじ列のロードフランク側のねじギャップL1G及びL2Gが常にL1G<L2Gの関係を満たすことを特徴とする管ねじ継手。
  2. 前記第一ねじ列及び前記第二ねじ列の雌雄のねじピッチを標準ねじピッチpとし、
     前記中間ショルダの前記雌雄ねじが螺合している状況下で、前記第一ねじ列及び前記第二ねじ列のうち、最も中間ショルダ寄りのねじ部のロードフランク側のねじギャップL1Gm及びL2G1が、L1Gm<L2G1となることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の管ねじ継手。
