L'invention concerne un appareil de traitement pour le traitement de déchets (15) comprenant un matériau thermoplastique, en particulier pour le traitement de déchets broyés, le dispositif de traitement comprenant un appareil de séchage - (12) conçu pour sécher les déchets (15) au moyen d'un flux d'air, un appareil de fusion (16) conçu pour faire fondre les déchets (15) soumis à un séchage par l'appareil de séchage (12), un appareil de stérilisation (18) conçu pour appliquer un traitement thermique de stérilisation des déchets soumis à la fusion par l'appareil de fusion (16), un canal de récupération de chaleur (24) s'étendant entre l'appareil de séchage (12) et l'appareil de fusion (16), et un canal d'évacuation (26) conçu pour le drainage du fluide généré dans l'appareil de séchage (12) pendant le séchage, connecté à l'appareil de séchage (12) et à un conduit de fumée (28) de l'appareil de fusion (16).
