- a fuel injection method of a vehicle engine may be divided into a port injection method (PFI) and a gasoline direct injection (GDI).
- PFI port injection method
- GDI gasoline direct injection
- the PFI method is an injection method mainly used in a gasoline engine, and injects low pressure fuel into an intake port to supply a mixer mixed with air into a cylinder.
- GDI is a injection method mainly used in diesel engines and is a method of directly injecting high pressure fuel into a cylinder.
- PFI engine an engine using PFI
- GDI engine an engine using GDI is referred to as a "GDI engine”.
- GDI engines are easy to ignite at ultra-lean air-fuel ratios with stratified charge combustion, which injects fuel at the end of the compression stroke during partial loads to enrich the air-fuel ratio around the spark plugs.
- fuel can be injected early in the intake stroke to improve filling efficiency by cooling the intake air by the air-fuel ratio for complete combustion, and the GDI engine Since the fuel is injected directly, there is an advantage of reducing the wall wetting that the fuel is adsorbed on the intake port wall.
- the GDI engine has a problem that the homogenization performance of the mixer distribution is lower than that of the conventional PFI engine in the distribution of the mixer formed inside the cylinder because fuel is injected into the cylinder during the intake stroke section.
- a hybrid injection engine using a mixture of PFI and GDI has been developed for a gasoline engine.
- the low pressure fuel supply line that delivers to the injector must be designed, and in the GDI engine, the high pressure fuel is injected into the cylinder, so the fuel in the fuel tank is made into a high pressure fuel and then the high pressure injector that injects the high pressure fuel into the cylinder.
- High pressure fuel supply line to be transported should be designed.
- the low pressure fuel supply line and the high pressure fuel supply line must be designed simultaneously, so that the design of the entire fuel supply line is complicated.
