It is a humoral pathological disorder that places the nature of the disease in the modulation of body fluids, sometimes defined as weight loss of at least 5% within 12 months. In addition, it is regarded as a kind of poisoning state caused by various organ disorders of the whole body, and the symptoms include rapid bleeding, anemia, lethargy, and skin yellowing.
  • the causative agent of cachexia is known to be a malignant tumor, Vasedou's disease, hypothalamus function, and bioactive substances such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF) produced by macrophages have been found to enhance cachexia.
  • TNF tumor necrosis factor
  • Cancer cachexia occurs in about one third of all patients with cancer and is estimated to be a direct cause of death in up to 20% of all cancer-related deaths.
  • Patients with solid tumors, colorectal cancer (CRC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) have a relatively high incidence of cachexia of about 28% and 34%, respectively.
  • Kimchi is a salted fermented food of Korea's representative vegetables, which is made by salting vegetables such as radish, cabbage, cucumber, and soaking various spices such as red pepper, green onion, garlic, and ginger.

  • Kimchi was freeze-dried and made into fine kimchi powder and then stirred overnight to extract methanol to prepare a kimchi methanol extract, which was concentrated by evaporation (BRE 111 rotavapor, Switzerland) and stored at 4 ° C for use in the test. .
  • C26 adenocarcinoma cell line BALB / c mice (male, 6 weeks old) used for this study were bred on an experimental diet for at least 3 weeks. The experimental group was divided into normal group and control group (Control: C26 cell subcutaneous injection). C26 adenocarcinoma cell line was incubated in 37 ° C cell culture in RPMI-1640 medium (Sigma) containing 10% Fetal bovine serum. Survival was more than 3 weeks after 1 ⁇ 10 7 injections of C26 adenocarcinoma cell lines. Abstract
