Abstract

La présente invention concerne un système permettant de changer automatiquement le rapport de transmission d'une bicyclette, ledit système comprenant un capteur de fréquence de rotation des pédales de la bicyclette, qui est la cadence de pédalage, un capteur d'accélération fixé au cadre de la bicyclette qui indique l'angle d'inclinaison dans la direction d'avancement de la bicyclette par rapport à un plan horizontal, un capteur ou un estimateur de couple monté de manière fonctionnelle sur la bicyclette pour fournir un signal de couple représentant un couple résistant agissant sur les pédales de la bicyclette, une mémoire non volatile qui contient une table pour consulter des valeurs de référence de la fréquence de rotation des pédales (de la cadence de pédalage) en fonction de valeurs de l'angle d'inclinaison de la direction d'avancement, ainsi qu'une unité de commande en communication avec le capteur de fréquence, le capteur de couple ou l'estimateur et le capteur d'accélération et avec la mémoire non volatile, configuré : pour lire, à partir de la mémoire, une valeur de référence de la fréquence de rotation des pédales en utilisant, comme entrée, l'angle d'inclinaison détecté par le capteur, pour comparer la fréquence effective de rotation des pédales avec la valeur de référence lue à partir de la mémoire et pour augmenter ou pour réduire automatiquement le rapport de transmission de la bicyclette en fonction de ladite comparaison et de ladite valeur de couple résistant sur les pédales de la bicyclette de sorte à ajuster la cadence de pédalage requise pour le cycliste avec la valeur de référence de la fréquence de rotation lue par la mémoire non volatile et de la valeur de couple résistant sur les pédales de bicyclette. La présente invention porte également sur un procédé permettant de changer automatiquement une transmission d'une bicyclette.
