Definitions
- the present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for easily removing impurities in a my bom spring gland by simultaneously performing a heating action and a pressing action on the inside and outside of an eyelid for the purpose of treating dysbacteriosis and dry eye syndrome.
- Dry eye syndrome refers to an eye disease in which the surface of the eye is damaged due to lack of tears or excessive evaporation of tears, resulting in damage to the eye surface and irritation symptoms such as irritation, foreign body sensation, and dryness. These symptoms are known to be caused by changes in the evaporation degree and tear composition ratio of the tear fluid as well as problems in the structure of the tear glands, problems in the organs of the tear fluid production, or secretion structures. In other words, the humidity of the eye is maintained by three factors: the production of the tear layer in the tear glands, the loss due to the discharge to the nose, and the degree of evaporation from the eye itself.
- Treatment of dry eye syndrome is progressed in order of improving living environment and habits, medication, and surgical treatment depending on the severity of symptoms.
- methods are used to maintain the moisture of the eyes and smooth tear secretion by improving the environment and habits that can cause dry eye, and the most representative drug treatment method is to maintain the moisture of the eyes through artificial eye drops.
- treatment with inflammation through internal medicine is used in parallel.
- Surgical treatment is a method used in the case of dry eye caused by structural problems of the eye. It is mainly performed when the tears are discharged when the tears are excessive.
- the meibomian gland is a sebaceous gland located on the eyelid frame that produces the oil constituting the lipid layer of the tear film.
- the oil is discharged from the entrance to the meibom spring gland to become a lipid layer covering the surface of the tear layer, and the tear film spreads evenly and the tears dry quickly To help prevent this.
- Studies have shown that more than 80% of dry eye patients suffer from eye dryness with or above the meibomian glands, while others have found that mybomian gland dysfunction is more common in Asians than in the West.
- the treatment method is to remove the obstacles by the method of warming, pressure massage, vibration massage, etc. in the closed discharge area of the MyBom gland, and it is mainly managed step by step in the order of warm eyelids, massage, and washing.
- you When applying a warm compress, you must maintain a temperature of 40 degrees or more to melt the clogged sebum, and use a forceps-type device to squeeze out the obstacles in the discharge area, or use an eyelid cleaner to clean the discharge area.
- the treatment of the thermal method can show the effect of increasing the thickness of the tear layer and the stability of the tear layer in a relatively short period of time, and thus it is required to develop a variety of medical devices using it. It is known that it is necessary to develop a technique for maintaining the temperature. In the case of using a wet towel or a warm eye patch, a specific method for attaching an indicator indicating the temperature or raising the temperature is suggested, but there is a problem that the therapeutic effect decreases due to the drop in temperature during the 10 minute thermal treatment process, and the temperature is maintained. In order to do this, it is a hassle to change to a new towel every 2 minutes.
- the problem to be solved by the present invention is to obtain a device for removing obstructions of the meibomian glands by simultaneously applying heat and pressure to the inside and outside of the eyelids to improve dysfunction of the meibomian glands that cause dry eye syndrome.
- the object is to maintain a proper temperature and pressure without causing damage, to easily remove obstacles using a cleaning solution, and to obtain a device capable of stably mounting on the eyelids.
- the present invention provides a device for treating dry eye syndrome, which is composed of a body part directly acting on the eyelid and a control part controlling temperature, pressure, and time.
- the body portion is provided with a pair of U-shaped eyepieces located on the upper and lower eyelids, simultaneously heating and pressing on the inside and outside of the eyelids.
- the eyepiece comprises a U-shape by a lens contacting the inside of the eyelid, a pad positioned outside, and a support connecting the two.
- the lens located inside the eyelid has a heating effect on the meibomian gland and prevents damage to the sclera or cornea, and a heating device is provided on the surface contacting the eyelid and an air bag is installed on the surface contacting the eyelid. Until it plays a role of preventing the heat generated from the heating device from being transferred.
- the pad in contact with the outside of the eyelid is provided with a heating device in the middle portion, and an edge portion surrounding it is installed to pressurize the airbag to easily remove the obstacles of the meibomian glands.
- the support is provided with water or an aqueous solution containing a drug to the my body gland secretory and washed to function to wash the obstacles blocking the gland.
- the body part is connected to the headband type support located on the forehead, allowing the body part to be mounted and supported at the correct position of the eyelid, preventing pressure loss or patient discomfort during operation, and plastic material with flexibility and elasticity Use to configure to adjust the position according to the patient.
- the headband Inside the headband, there is an air injection pipe supplied to the airbag of the body portion and a washing liquid injection pipe supplied to the support, and a cable for controlling the heat and pressure action is built in to connect the body portion and the control unit.
- the control unit is equipped with a monitoring device to set the temperature, pressure, and retention time for the warming and pressurizing actions according to the patient's condition, and heating while feeding back the signal transmitted by the temperature and pressure sensor installed in the main body It functions to control the device and the pressure device. After a certain period of warming and pressurization, the washing fluid is supplied to wash the obstacles in the secretory of the mybium glands.
- the present invention is a device for removing obstructions in the my bom gland and treating dry eye syndrome by simultaneously applying heat and pressure to the inside and outside of the eyelid, and it is possible to minimize damage to the sclera and cornea, and the heating device according to the patient's condition It is a device that can be effectively used by controlling the temperature and time of the airbag and controlling the pressure of the airbag. In addition, it is a device that is easy to use because it is stably located on the eyelid by using a headband and can improve the function of MyBom glands at low cost at home without going to the hospital. In particular, it provides an apparatus capable of effectively improving dry eye syndrome by injecting an appropriate drug at the same time, as well as easily removing the obstacles of the meibomian glands through injection of the washing solution.
