- the present disclosure relates to a vehicular lamp that includes a light guide body that is arranged so as to extend in the vertical direction of a lamp chamber and that emits light by incident light source light.
- the present invention relates to a vehicular lamp that deflects and emits a part of the light source light that makes the entire light guide emit light to the side of the lamp through a convex step provided on the front surface of the light guide.
- the light guide is arranged in the lamp chamber, and the light source light guided to the light guide is internally reflected by the reflection step provided on the rear surface of the light guide, so that the light is widely spread from the front of the light guide to the front of the lamp.

- the convex step extending parallel to the extending direction of the light body is configured so that the light emitted from the convex step is emitted to the lateral horizontal direction of the lamp orthogonal to the vertical direction in which the light guide extends. Difficult to control.
- the light emitted from the emitting surface of the convex step is also affected by the directionality of the light guide body in the light guide direction (upward), so the amount of light emitted in the lateral direction of the lamp is small and the vehicle side The visibility of the lamp from others is not fully satisfied.
- the light emitted from the front part of the light guide to the front of the lamp also includes the light affected by the light guide direction (for example, upward).

- the light is refracted (corrected) in the opposite direction (upward, indicated by reference numeral B in FIG. 9) to the deflected outgoing light 1-3 in the light guide direction of the light guide 34 (downward, indicated by reference numeral A in FIG. 9).
- the light guide 34 is arranged so as to extend while being inclined in the left-right direction when viewed from the front. Further, since the light source light is incident from above the light guide 34 to below, the light l-1 internally reflected forward by the reflection surface 42 of the reflection step 40 is obliquely moved by the convex step 45 with respect to the light guide direction. It is necessary to control so that the light is deflected and emitted in the horizontal direction, which is the opposite direction, that is, 45 degrees inside the vehicle width direction and 80 degrees outside.
- the light 1-1 is adjusted. You can control.
- the convex step 45 provided on the front surface portion 34 a of the light guide body 34 reduces the influence of the light guide direction and deflects the clearance lamp 10 in the lateral horizontal direction. Emitted light 1-3 is formed. Since the amount of deflected light emitted in the lateral direction of the clearance lamp 10 increases, the visibility of the clearance lamp 10 from the vehicle side becomes particularly good.
- the light l-1 emitted from the front surface portion 34a of the light guide 34 in a wide range of 45 degrees in the front and left directions of the clearance lamp 10 includes light affected by the light guide direction (downward). However, the amount of light emitted from the front surface portion 34a of the light guide 34 is overwhelmed as compared with the amount of deflected emitted light l-3 that uses only a part of the light l-1 reflected forward by the reflection surface 42 of the reflection step 40. In view of the fact that the clearance lamp 10 is visible from the front of the vehicle, there is no problem.
- the convex step 45 projects from the surface of the light guide 34, and is formed in a triangular pyramid shape in which the second reflecting surface 46 and the emitting surface 48 are laterally adjacent to each other.
- the incident angle ⁇ 1 of the light l-1 internally reflected forward by the reflecting surface 42 of the reflecting step 40 on the second reflecting surface 46 is set to the critical angle ⁇ a or more
- the incident angle ⁇ 2 of the light 1-2 that is internally reflected in the predetermined direction laterally of the clearance lamp 10 at the second reflecting surface 46 on the emission surface 48 is set to be less than the critical angle ⁇ a. Therefore, the light amount of the deflected outgoing light 1-3 in the lateral direction of the clearance lamp 10 by the convex step 45 increases.
- the convex step 45 has a triangular pyramid shape protruding from the surface of the light guide 34, it is easy to integrally form the convex step 45 on the light guide 34 so as to face the reflection step 40.
- the reflection step 40 and the convex step 45 integrally when molding the light guide 34, the manufacturing process of the light guide 34 does not become complicated.
- the area of the second reflecting surface 46 is formed smaller than the area of the emitting surface 48.
- the convex step 45 is arranged such that the second reflecting surface 46 is on the inner side in the vehicle width direction with respect to the central axis L of the light guide 34. Therefore, the light amount of the deflected emission light 1-3 in the predetermined range in the lateral direction of the clearance lamp 10 (the range of 45 degrees to 80 degrees outside the vehicle width direction) increases, and the clearance lamp 10 is visually recognized from the side of the vehicle. The sex is enhanced.
- the front surface 34a of the light guide 34 has an arcuate horizontal cross section.
- the second reflecting surface 46 of the convex step 45 is arranged outside the center axis L of the light guide 34 in the width direction of the vehicle, the deflected outgoing light emitted from the outgoing surface 48 of the convex step 45. Is light that goes toward the rear side of the vehicle more than necessary.
- the amount of deflected emitted light in the range of 45 degrees to 80 degrees outside the vehicle width direction may decrease, and may exceed the outside 80 degrees in the vehicle width direction specified by law.
- the second reflecting surface 46 is arranged inside the center axis L of the light guide 34 in the vehicle width direction. Therefore, it is possible to control the deflected emission light 1-3 emitted from the emission surface 48 of the convex step 45 so as to be emitted in a predetermined lateral horizontal range of the vehicle (45 degrees to 80 degrees outside the vehicle width direction). As a result, in the present embodiment, the amount of deflected emitted light in a predetermined range in the lateral horizontal direction is increased, and the visibility of the clearance lamp 10 from the vehicle side can be enhanced.
- most of the region above the light guide 34 is arranged so as to extend while tilting backward.
- the light source 32 is arranged so that the direction of the light 1-1 that is internally reflected toward the front by the reflection surface 42 of the reflection step 40 is the forward direction with respect to the light guide direction of the light guide 34.
- the upper region of the light guide 34 extends so as to incline backward. If the light source light is incident on the light guide 34 from below, the reflection surface 42 of the reflection step 40 provided in the rearwardly inclined region of the light guide 34 is in the opposite direction to the light guide direction of the light guide 34. It is necessary to internally reflect the light from the light source toward the front.
- the reflection surface of the reflection step is adopted as the configuration in which the light source light is internally reflected on the rear surface portion 34b of the light guide body 34 where the light source light enters from the lower end surface 34d toward the front opposite to the light guide direction. There is. In this case, it is difficult to internally reflect the light having the intensity that can be used as the light distribution toward the front, and the visibility of the lamp from the front and the side of the vehicle is reduced.
- the direction of the light source light that is internally reflected by the reflection surface 42 of the reflection step 40 is the forward direction with respect to the light guide direction.
- the light from the light source is made incident on the light guide 34 from above. Even if the above structure (the reflecting surface 42 of the reflecting step 40) is adopted, according to the present embodiment, it is possible to internally reflect the light having sufficient intensity that can be used as the light distribution toward the front side of the vehicle. The visibility of the clearance lamp 10 from the side does not deteriorate.
- the configuration of the reflection step disclosed in Prior Patent Document 1 and other reflection steps may be adopted.
- the light guide 34 has a shape that is convexly curved forward, and is formed so that the curvature of the light guide 34 gradually increases from the upper end to the lower end. Further, the light guide body 34 is configured such that the light source light is incident from the upper end side of the light guide body 34, which extends rearward substantially horizontally and has a small curvature.
- the light source light can be guided to the lower end portion side of the light guide body 34 by allowing the light source light to enter from the upper end portion side of the light guide body 34 that extends substantially horizontally rearward and has a small curvature.
- the present embodiment can provide the clearance lamp 10 that is equipped with the light guide 34 that is curved in a forward convex shape and that is excellent in visibility from the front and side of the vehicle.
- the light guide unit 30 (the light guide 34 and the light source 32) is arranged in each of a pair of left and right lamp chambers S that extend in a substantially V shape in front view so as to sandwich the headlight.
- the present disclosure is applied to the clearance lamp 10 of FIG.
- the entire light guide 34 extending in a V-shape across the headlight emits light, and the amount of deflected light emitted in the lateral direction of the vehicle increases, which is excellent in visibility from the side of the vehicle. Marking lights for motorcycles are provided.
- the light-emitting diode is used as the light source 32, but it is also possible to use a light source of another type.
- the light guide 34 is arranged so as to extend in a three-dimensional curve, but the light guide 34 may be arranged to extend in a straight line.
- the light source light is configured to enter the light guide body 34 from the upper end surface 34c of the light guide body which is arranged in the up-down direction and which is largely curved forward convexly.
- the direction (front) of the source light internally reflected by the reflection surface 42 for light distribution of the reflection step provided on the rear surface portion 34b of the light guide 34 is such that the degree of bending of the light guide 34 is small.
- the light source 32 may be configured such that the light source light enters the light guide 34 from the lower end surface 34 d of the light guide 34.
- the light source 32 is configured such that the light source light is incident not on the upper end surface 34c or the lower end surface 34d above or below the light guide body 34 but on the end surface of the branched portion above or below the light guide body 34. Good.
- the clearance lamp 10 which is a marker light for motorcycles has been described.
