  • an air energy cartridge 21 can also be used in a firearm (here a 9mm Luger).
  • An air energy cartridge 21 contains air which is subjected to excess pressure, which escapes when a shot is fired and thus generates an excess gas pressure p1. It is of course also possible to use a popping cartridge (blank cartridge) or any cartridge which generates an excess gas pressure p1. Since there are no electronic components in the housing G in the area of the pressure piston 4, this is not a problem. For safety and pollution reasons, however, an air energy cartridge 21 is usually preferable to popping cartridges.
  • Gas overpressure p1 moves the mass of the slide, the air energy cartridge 21 from pulled from the cartridge chamber and ejected, the slide brought to its rearmost position, the cock cocked and a new air energy cartridge 21 fed from the magazine.
  • Firearms require a higher gas overpressure p1 than an airsoft weapon.
  • the piston spring 12 can therefore be made stronger in a light module designed for firearms than in a light module designed for an airsoft weapon.
  • elongated holes LL in the housing G can therefore also be dispensed with in order to utilize the prevailing gas overpressure p1 as well as possible.
