- a TAF-type organic light-emitting device exhibits higher luminous efficiency than an ordinary fluorescent-type organic light-emitting device for the following reasons. That is, when electrons and holes recombine in the light-emitting layer of the organic light-emitting device, an excited singlet state and an excited triplet state are generated at a probability of 25%:75% according to the spin statistical law.
- the excited triplet state releases heat and is deactivated without radiation, so only 25% of the excited singlet energy is used for light emission, and the luminous efficiency has a theoretical limit. be.
- the delayed fluorescence material is an organic compound that causes reverse intersystem crossing from an excited triplet state to an excited singlet state. Therefore, when a delayed fluorescent material and a fluorescent material are used in combination for the light-emitting layer, the excited triplet energy is converted into excited singlet energy by the delayed fluorescent material, Förster moves to the fluorescent material, and the fluorescent material receives the energy. is also radiatively deactivated from the excited singlet state and emits light.
- the TAF type organic light-emitting device uses not only the excited singlet energy generated by direct excitation but also the excited triplet energy generated by direct excitation for fluorescence emission, and thus exhibits high luminous efficiency.
- more excellent TAF-type organic light-emitting devices have been proposed by devising combinations of delayed fluorescence materials and light-emitting materials.
- Patent Document 1 discloses that a specific BN polycyclic aromatic compound is used as a light-emitting material, and substituted with four substituted or unsubstituted carbazol-9-yl groups (but not all four are the same). Non-Patent Document 1 describes that energy transfer from the delayed fluorescent material to the fluorescent material is efficient in a TAF type organic light emitting device that uses a combination of blue, green, yellow and red general-purpose fluorescent materials and a specific delayed fluorescent material. It is described as occurring frequently and showing high luminous efficiency.
- Non-Patent Document 2 describes a TAF-type organic light-emitting device in which a specific yellow fluorescent material and dicyanobenzene substituted with four 3,6-dimethylcarbazol-9-yl groups are combined as a delayed fluorescent material. It is described that Förster transfer of energy occurred efficiently and the operational stability was improved.

条件(a) ES1(1)> ES1(2)> ES1(3)
条件(b) λE EM(2)< λP AB(3)-10nm
条件(c) λP EM(3)< λP EM(2)
