- Figure 1 shows an example of a beard trimmer according to the invention in three dimensions and with the cutting unit in the rest position, namely when the stroke of the elastic means is maximum and the mobile unit is in an advanced position (i.e. when it is fully extended from the handle). It is the pressing action of the trimmer on the skin by the user who exerts pressure on the elastic means and pushes the mobile unit with the motor and the cutting unit towards the inside of the handle . Without pressure, the spring always returns the cutting unit to its initial rest position.
- Figure 2 shows a three-dimensional view of the beard trimmer of Figure 1, with part of the handle having been removed in order to illustrate the internal elements of the trimmer.

Thanks to this mobile unit, sliding within the partially hollow handle is easy, without requiring moving parts external to the handle which could make the mower bulky and easily clogged and thus make cleaning complicated.
- the mower comprises means for suspending the cutting unit.
- an elastic means 8 is positioned in the handle, at the rear of the mobile unit in order to dampen the pressure of the motorized cutting unit on the skin.
- This elastic means is preferably a spring, as shown in the figures, but can also be any other elastic means such as for example a piston.
- the mobile unit will more or less press on the elastic means, performing back and forth movements when trimming the beard thanks to the telescopic fitting of the mobile unit in the handle.
- This elastic means therefore makes it possible to compensate for the movements of the user, which may be too abrupt, jerky or of too high a force.
- the suspension system therefore makes it possible on the one hand to soften the movements of the user in order to make the feeling more pleasant, but also to obtain a more uniform cutting length. Indeed, when the user exerts too much pressure on the skin, the blades of the cutting head are closer to the skin and this results in a shorter cutting length. You should know that a beard trimmer is difficult to handle due to the different angles of the face and that keeping the same pressure throughout the shave is not easy for the user.
- FIG 2 illustrates the mower with the mobile unit in the rest position.

In this way, the mobile unit is blocked by the stud located at the bottom of the slot when the stroke of the spring is maximum, thus preventing the mobile unit from completely coming out of the handle.
- This stop element can be in any other form, as long as it makes it possible to retain the mobile unit inside the handle when the travel of the spring is maximum, (for example in the form of an annular stop or semi- annular).
- Figure 3 illustrates the mower with the spring represented according to a minimum stroke, the latter being crushed by the mobile unit following the pressure exerted on the cutting head.

- the compression stop in this case is a semi-annular surface, located around the perimeter of the mobile unit and which is actually only partially visible when the cutting unit is in the rest position.
- This compression stop can be in any other form. It locks the handle by compression, when the spring is compressed by the mobile unit when pressure is exerted on the cutting head. The handle therefore comes into contact with this compression stop, which in the case shown, coincides with the cylindrical shape located inside the handle or forming the handle.
- the travel of the elastic means, and therefore the displacement distance of the mobile unit towards the inside of the handle is preferably between 10 and 30 mm, more preferably between 15 and 25 mm and is even more preferably 20 mm.
- the objective of the beard trimmer according to the invention is also to offer the user a device with a space-saving and light cutting unit which makes it possible to trim the tightest places on the face and which in at the same time great freedom of movement.

Setting a low damping stroke will increase the force needed to dampen skin contact and setting a high damping stroke will make the trimmer much more sensitive to pressure.
