Abstract

The present invention discloses a preformed top-like bra for women who have had a mastectomy or have undergone radiation therapy. The bra of the invention has different layers of textiles enriched with components that aid the quick recovery of the skin, and it also gives women who have undergone these procedures the appearance of natural breasts.

MASTECTOMY POST-OPERATIVE BRA

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention is related to the field of post-surgical care and postoperative recovery of women with cancer who have undergone mastectomies and are exposed to radiotherapy.

DESCRIPTION OF PRIOR ART

It is known that cancer is a very aggressive disease. In the case of women, breast cancer is a very common cancer, which requires a rather complex and invasive treatment that a high percentage of women who suffer from it must undergo. In their fight for life and health, they face surgeries such as mastectomy and treatments such as radiotherapy.

In the case of undergoing a mastectomy, the postoperative recovery is complex and painful, since not only the physical appearance but also the woman's self-esteem is affected. During these recovery processes, women must wear bras designed especially for the area of the body that has just been operated on. However, these bras are often uncomfortable and do not offer comfort or security to women who have undergone mastectomy and radiotherapy, since they allow the amputation that the woman has undergone to be seen.

There is no known post-operative bra on the market that helps women look and feel confident about their appearance, helps the skin of the operated area to join to the muscle, and even less provides relief and calm to the reddened and inflamed skin caused by the surgery and radiotherapy. Some bras try to help women in these circumstances, but they have difficulties in solving problems of healing the skin and adhering it to the muscle, and they do not provide a natural breast appearance. The mastectomy bra US 4637398 (a)-1987-01 -02 which describes a postoperative prosthetic inner bra for women who have undergone a mastectomy, this bra describes two bras, one in which the prosthesis is mounted and another that is similar to a normal bra which is put on or mounted on the inner bra making it stay in place, through different fixing elements such as hooks and straps. This structure is uncomfortable for women, as it requires a lot of maneuvering taking into account that they are in recovery after a mastectomy, on the other hand it needs to install the connection and fixing elements, which makes it more cumbersome and complicated to use.

For its part, file NC2016/0002035 describes a bra for use by women undergoing radiotherapy which has cooling and removable bags that are arranged

in contact with the skin that is being treated with radiotherapy, however, it does not have effective elements for women with mastectomy

These state-of-the-art inventions are not designed to help improve the quality of life of mastectomized patients and those undergoing radiotherapy. In addition, the bras on the market do not take into account the condition of the skin after the surgical procedure, since they are not comfortable, do not have built-in prostheses, are not made of anti-allergic materials, or of materials that help in the recovery of the skin.

Additionally, none of the bras on the market help in the skin adhesion process, while the bra of the present invention was designed to solve all these problems that the bras on the market do not solve.

The present invention to solve the problem of mastectomized women provides a comfortable bra, with fabrics that provide comfort and convenience, that relax, nourish and soothe the woman's skin, in addition to having a breast prosthesis.

On the other hand, none of the documents disclosed in the state of the art refers to a bra made of layers of fabrics and/or materials that incorporate extra materials or components that produce skin recovery after a mastectomy procedure, such as butters, vitamins and seed extracts.

None of the bras found included handcrafted prostheses made from materials that provide comfort and convenience to the user.

In addition to the advantages mentioned above, the bra of the invention also provides a nice and pleasant appearance for the woman who is in the process of physical and emotional recovery. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a postoperative bra for women who have undergone mastectomy and/or are undergoing radiotherapy treatment, which is composed of at least three layers and internal pockets for inserting the prosthesis.

One of the layers of the inventive bra has properties that are activated by body heat, preventing the formation of bacteria and soothing the skin. This layer has a breast-shaped pre-form in the front area for greater comfort.

In a next layer, the material is less elastic than the previous one and has the shape of the area surrounding the breast, this layer is adhered to the immediately preceding layer, being a less elastic and/or more resistant material, it produces compression to the operated area which causes the skin to stick or adhere to the muscle and promotes recovery and blood flow.

The invention has two pockets or bags that are located between the first and second layers, one on each side or for each breast, where the handmade prostheses are introduced.

In a following layer of fabric, a seam or set of seams are located adjacent to the height of the pre-form of the first layer, and seams parallel to this first seam, but at a variety of separations.

To achieve a close connection between the skin and the muscle, the bra is made of smart textiles that contain kahté butter, vitamin E, basil seeds, natural menthol and menthyl lactate, which have properties that help to calm, refresh, protect, hydrate and activate circulation in the affected area.

By having a prehoma bra, it helps to hold the prostheses in place so that they do not slip, fall or move when used, managing to stay safe and thus avoid hurting the mastectomy area. The bra of the invention has an elastic band that helps support the breasts and a closure at the front so that it can be put on in an easier and more comfortable way.

Thanks to the components of the textiles used in the invention, it is possible to calm, hydrate, soften, protect and activate the woman's circulation and, together with the pre-form, they promote adequate blood flow, which is essential for breast care.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to a postoperative bra of the pre-shaped top type with artisanal prostheses (1 1, 12), lightweight, made of textiles that have been treated with nanotechnology to incorporate components such as kahté butter fibers, vitamin E, basil seeds, natural menthol and menthyl lactate, which

The pre-form refers to an area of the textile that resembles a bag or space that would be filled by an anatomical area, in this case the pre-form supposes a kind of bag that resembles the space of the breast, which for the present case in most cases the breast has been mastectomized, therefore the space of the pre-form will be filled with another object.

In one embodiment of the invention, it has at least three layers, where the first layer (5) is made of textile nylon lycra, this first layer has a pre-form (6) of the shape of the breasts, where this textile has kahté butter fibers, vitamin E, basil seeds, natural menthol and menthyl lactate, components that are activated when they come into contact with the skin and that thanks to their components manage to calm, hydrate, soften, protect and activate circulation, and together with the pre-form (6) they achieve adequate blood irrigation, which is essential for the care of the recovering breast and the skin adjacent to the mastectomized breast.

A second layer (3) of fabric that is more rigid than the first, or less elastic, where in one embodiment of the invention the textile of the second layer is known as powernet which is an elastic textile made of a mixture of polyamide and elastane that adheres to the first layer (5), through heat, glue or sewing, where in a preferred embodiment it is adhered by sewing to the first layer (5).

This second layer (3) has a smaller area than the first layer, this area is from the area of the body adjacent to the breast to the strap or shoulder, it includes the area on the side of the body, and exerts greater pressure than the first layer given that the textile of this layer has less elasticity than the first layer (5) to promote blood flow.

The second layer has the central space where the pre-form (6) protrudes, which is not covered by this layer (3). In a third layer (9) the decorative fabric is also pre-shaped with the space for the breast, which will be filled with the handmade prosthesis (7)(8), this layer of fabric is the one that is observed when putting on or using the postoperative bra, in one embodiment of the invention this layer can be made of lycra, nylon or polyester with UV protection, antiperspirant and quick-drying properties, where in a preferred embodiment, the fabric of the third layer (10) is made of lycra.

The bra of the invention closes in a frontal manner (1) for the greater comfort of the woman who has recently undergone a mastectomy or has been exposed to radiotherapy treatments. In one embodiment of the invention, the closure can be done through badges, Velcro or semi-automatic zipper, where in a preferred embodiment, the closure is done with a semi-automatic zipper.

Between the second and third layer of the bra of the invention, there are pockets (7) one on each side, these pockets have a small lateral opening (7.1) located in the first layer, where the handmade prosthesis is introduced that replaces the appearance of the natural breast that has been mastectomized, these handmade prostheses (11)(12) fill the space of the pre-form (6) in its inner part, said prosthesis being visible up to the third layer (9).

The invention has two handmade prostheses (11) (12) made of anti-allergic cotton, which are inserted into each internal pocket (7) of the postoperative bra to give the appearance of natural breasts.

The invention has a series of longitudinal seams (8) located adjacent to the base of the pre-form, in a preferred embodiment, these seams are made 1 cm away from the pre-form, the seam can be in a single line or more lines, or it can be in a seam with decoration of the collar or fillet type, where in a preferred embodiment the seam is a collar.

Collar stitching refers to the sewing done with a machine called collar or collarette that is used for the manufacture of underwear and swimwear for which elastic fabrics are used that when stretched could burst the seams. This machine is mostly used to sew knitted fabrics such as those of the invention.

Next to the front longitudinal seams, an elastic band (4) is arranged around the entire contour of the bra of the invention that helps to support the breast and the handmade prosthesis. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the spring has a dimension between 3 cm and 5 cm and is located 3 cm away from the first seams.

The configuration of the bra ensures that the handmade prostheses are held in place and do not move or fall off when used, thus ensuring that they remain secure and thus avoiding injury to the mastectomized area, in addition to giving the appearance of a natural breast.

In the back part (13), that is to say in the back area, the invention is made of lycra textile or a polyamide and elastane blend textile of the entire back size, which helps to correct posture.

Claims

1- Pre-shaped postoperative mastectomy bra, characterized in that it comprises: at least three layers of contiguous textile (5)(3)(9) where at least one layer is smaller; where the first layer (5) is enriched with kañté butter, vitamin E, apricot seeds, natural menthol and menthyl lactate; it has longitudinal seams (8) located in the front area; a spring (4) arranged at the lower end; internal pockets (7) where handmade prostheses are introduced (11 )(12). 2- Postoperative mastectomy bra according to claim 1, where the opening of the internal pockets (7) are located in the first layer (5). 3- Postoperative bra for mastectomy characterized according to claim 1, wherein a second layer (3) is the size of the area surrounding the breast, and is adhered to the first layer (5) through sewing. 4- Postoperative bra for mastectomy characterized according to claim 1 or 3, where the first layer (5) is made of nylon lycra, the second layer (3) is made of polyamide and elastane, and the third layer (9) is made of nylon lycra. 5- Postoperative mastectomy bra according to claim 1, where the set of longitudinal seams (8) are arranged 1 cm away from the pre-form (6), the elastic band (4) has a width of between 3 cm and 5 cm and is arranged 3 cm from the longitudinal seams (8). 6- Postoperative mastectomy bra according to claim 1 where the first (5) and third layer (9) are pre-shaped. 7- Postoperative mastectomy bra according to claim 1 where The closure (1) is one of the group, badges, semi-automatic zipper, or sailboat. 8- Postoperative mastectomy bra according to claim 1, in which the handcrafted prostheses (1 1) (12) are introduced into the internal pockets (7).
