- FIG. 6 is a diagram showing an example of a portion of an image captured by a camera for photographing gaming chips in an embodiment. Since the image also shows the betting objects in the betting area 74, the image recognition device 61 recognizes the position of the gaming chip 9 and thereby recognizes the betting object on which the gaming chip 9 is bet.
- multiple gaming chips 9 may be stacked and placed in the betting area 74 as a chip stack 900.
- the image recognition device 61 identifies the position of the chip stack 900, i.e., the betting object on which the chip stack 900 is bet.
- the cameras 21 and 23 photograph the betting area 74 displayed on the display surface 111 from diagonally above, so that it is possible to photograph the betting object on which the chip stack 900 is placed, as well as the side of each gaming chip 9 included in the chip stack 900.
- the side of the gaming chip 9 has a pattern indicating the type of gaming chip 9, so the image recognition device 61 can determine the type of gaming chip 9 included in the chip stack 900 by analyzing the image. Since the type of gaming chip 9 corresponds to the value of the gaming chip 9, the image recognition device 61 can recognize the value of each gaming chip 9 included in the chip stack 900. Furthermore, the image recognition device 61 can calculate the total value of the chip stack 900 by adding up the values of the multiple gaming chips 9 that make up the chip stack 900.
- the image recognition device 61 recognizes the bet amount for each bet object in the bet area 74 as the bet contents by analyzing the images obtained from the cameras 21 and 23.
- a machine learning model or a deep neural network trained by learning can be used to analyze the images in the image recognition device 61.
- the image recognition device 61 may recognize the bet contents by individually performing a plurality of processes, such as a process of segmenting the chip stack 900 from the image, a process of recognizing each gaming chip 9 by extracting a characteristic part (e.g., a center line) of each gaming chip 9 from the chip stack 900, a process of determining the type of each gaming chip 9, and a process of determining the bet object on which the chip stack 900 is placed.
- a different machine learning model or a different neural network model may be used for each process.
- the image recognition device 61 performs the above processing on each of the images from the cameras 21 and 23.
- the gaming chips 9 placed in the betting area 74 are captured by both the cameras 21 and 23.
- they may be captured by only one of the cameras 21 and 23, and some or all of the gaming chips 9 in the chip stack 900 may not be captured by the other camera due to being in the shadow of the other chip stack 900. Even in such a case, all of the chip stacks 900 will be captured by either the cameras 21 and 23 and will be recognized by the image recognition device 61.
- the image recognition device 61 recognizes the chip stacks 900 recognized from the image from the camera 21 and the chip stacks 900 recognized from the image from the camera 23 as being in the same position as the same chip stack 900.
- the image generation device 64 displays a mark indicating that a gaming chip 9 has been detected at a position on the display surface 111 that corresponds to the position of the chip stack 900, and generates an image that displays a number that represents the total amount of the chip stack 900.
- FIG. 7 is an example of a display on the display surface of an embodiment.
- the example in FIG. 7 shows a situation in which a chip stack 900 consisting of three 100-dollar chips, worth a total of $300, is placed in the "BANKER" area of player position "4".
- image recognition device 61 recognizes the position of chip stack 900 by analyzing images from cameras 21 and 23, and image generation device 64 generates an image that displays a mark (bet mark) 75 at the recognized position.
- Bet mark 75 is a circular mark with a diameter slightly larger than the diameter of gaming chip 9.
- Number 76 which indicates the total amount of chip stack 900, is displayed in a position that has a predetermined positional relationship with bet mark 75.
- the image generating device 64 may correct the position of the bet mark 75 by feedback control. That is, since the cameras 21 and 23 continue taking images even after the bet mark 75 is displayed as described above, an image with the bet mark 75 displayed is input to the image recognition device 61. At this time, the image recognition device 61 may recognize the positional relationship between the chip stack 900 and the bet mark 75, and output the result to the image generating device 64. The image generating device 64 may generate an image in which the position of the bet mark 75 is corrected by an amount of movement corresponding to the positional relationship between the chip stack 900 and the bet mark 75, i.e., the amount of deviation between the chip stack 900 and the bet mark 75.
- the pattern (shape, color) of the bet mark 75 may differ depending on the total amount of the chip stack 900.
- the bet mark 75 may be displayed in a different color and/or shape when the total amount of the chip stack 900 is less than $100, less than $1000, and more than $1000.
- the bet marks 75 indicating the positions of the chip stacks 900 and the numbers 76 indicating the total amount of the chip stacks 900 may be displayed for a predetermined time after the chip stacks 900 are recognized and then disappear.
- the image generating device 64 generates an image in which the bet marks 75 and numbers 76 are displayed and then disappear a predetermined time later. In this way, the numbers 76 indicating the bet amount are displayed in real time each time the chip stacks 900 bet is recognized using the cameras 21, 23 and the image recognition device 61.
- the cameras 21, 23 and the image recognition device 61 re-recognize the chip stacks 900, determine the bet amount, and re-display the numbers 76 indicating the new bet amount.
- the image generating device 64 also identifies the player position betting the most in the "PLAYER” area and the player position betting the most in the "BANKER” area, and displays a mark (squeeze mark) 77 indicating that the player at that player position has the right to squeeze the relevant hand.
- FIG. 8 is a diagram showing an example of a display on the display surface of an embodiment.
- player position 3 has bet the highest amount on the "PLAYER” area
- player position 4 has bet the highest amount on the "BANKER” area, so a squeeze mark 77 is displayed at each player position.
- the image generating device 64 may display the squeeze mark 77 at the player position that is currently betting the largest amount, and may change the player position that displays the squeeze mark 77 each time the player position that is currently betting the largest amount changes, or may display the squeeze mark 77 only after the betting phase ends and all bet contents in the betting area 74 are finalized.
- the image generating device 64 switches the image displayed on the display surface 111. For this reason, when the first playing card is drawn, the card shoe 3, which serves as a game determination device, sends a signal to that effect to the computing device 6.
- the calculation device 6 determines, based on a signal from the card shoe 3, that the first card has been drawn, i.e., that the betting phase has ended and the card dealing phase has begun.
- the dealer may perform a "NO MORE BET" action on the table (typically, an action of swiping the air above the betting area 74 with the palm facing down), capture this action with one of the cameras 21-24, and the image recognition device 61 may recognize this action, thereby determining that the betting phase has ended and the card dealing phase has begun.
- the image generating device 64 displays the betting objects on which gaming chips 9 have been bet and the betting objects on which gaming chips 9 have not been bet in a distinguishable manner. Specifically, the image generating device 64 erases the display of the betting objects on which gaming chips 9 have not been bet and maintains the display of the betting objects on which gaming chips 9 have been bet, thereby emphasizing the display of the betting objects on which gaming chips 9 have been bet.
- FIG. 9 is a diagram showing a display example of the display surface of the embodiment.
- FIG. 9 shows a display example at the card deal stage. In this image, only bet objects on which gaming chips 9 have been bet, and bet objects on which gaming chips 9 have not been bet are displayed. In this display example, a squeeze mark 77 is displayed at the corresponding player position. Furthermore, in this display example, the total amount of the bet for each player position is displayed.
- the game determination device 3 reads the ranks of the playing cards drawn one by one and determines the game result.
- the game determination device 3 sends the determined game result to the calculation device 6.
- the settlement determination device 62 of the calculation device 6 determines settlement based on the bet contents determined by the image recognition device 61 and the game result determined by the game determination device 3.
- the lottery execution device 63 executes a lottery game before the settlement determination device 62 determines whether to settle.
- the lottery result is either a win or a loss.
- the lottery execution device 63 executes a lottery using random numbers, and obtains the lottery result of a win or a loss.
- the image generation device 64 generates an image that enhances the interest of the lottery game.
- FIG. 10 is a diagram showing an example of a display on the display surface of an embodiment.
- a lottery game is displayed.
- the image of the lottery game is an image of a slot game having three reels. If the lottery result is a win, the image generating device 64 spins the reels and then stops them one by one to generate an image in which the winning symbols are ultimately lined up. If the lottery result is a loss, the image generating device 64 spins the reels and then stops them one by one to generate an image in which the winning symbols are ultimately not lined up.
- the jackpot prize is the cumulative amount (carry-over amount) of the jackpot bets collected in unsuccessful draws at multiple game tables in the casino before a winning jackpot is drawn. Therefore, the prize money is accumulated each time a player loses a draw at another game table, and is reduced if a player wins a draw at any game table, so the prize money changes from moment to moment. Therefore, regardless of whether the player is in the betting or card deal stage, the image generation device 64 receives the jackpot bets at other game tables and the carry-over amounts based on the draw results at a specified time interval (e.g., every 5 seconds) and updates the carry-over amount displayed on the display screen.
- a specified time interval e.g., every 5 seconds
- the entry fee (bet amount) for the jackpot is a fixed amount (50 dollars in this embodiment). If, as a result of judging the bet contents, the image recognition device 61 determines that gaming chips 9 have been bet on the "J.P.” area but the amount is not 50 dollars, it determines that this is fraudulent and reports this to the image generation device 64. The image generation device 64 generates an image that displays a warning at the position of the gaming chip 9 related to the fraudulent jackpot bet amount.
- the image generating device 64 displays an image according to the settlement determined by the settlement determination device 62. For each chip stack 900 of bet gaming chips 9, or for each bet object on which gaming chips 9 have been bet, the settlement determination device 62 determines whether the gaming chips 9 should be collected (the game has been lost) or whether the gaming chips 9 should be redeemed (the game has been won). Furthermore, for chip stacks 900 that have been determined to be eligible for gaming chips 9 redemption, the redemption amount is calculated according to the rules of the game.
- the image generating device 64 generates an image that indicates whether the gaming chips 9 should be collected or redeemed in association with the chip stack 900 of the gaming chips 9 that have been bet, or in association with the bet object on which the gaming chips 9 have been bet, and also generates an image that indicates the redemption amount in association with the chip stack 900 of the gaming chips 9 that will be redeemed, or in association with the bet object on which the gaming chips 9 will be redeemed.
- FIG. 11A and 11B are diagrams showing an example of the display on the display surface of the embodiment.
- the image generating device 64 shows an example of the display on the display surface 111 when the jackpot is lost and the game result is a PLAYER WIN.
- the "PLAYER" area which is the betting target for winning the game, is highlighted in color, and the other areas, which are the betting targets for losing the game, are displayed without color.
- a row of numbers representing the settlement is displayed at each player position. Starting from the top row, the bet amount, redemption amount (if there is a redemption), and recovery amount (if there is a recovery) are displayed in that order.
- the image generation device 64 displays the final settlement amount by adding or subtracting these amounts from this display, as shown in Figure 11B. If the full amount is recovered (if there are no gaming chips 9 remaining at the site after settlement, i.e. if the settlement amount is zero), nothing is displayed.
- the image generating device 64 may generate an image in which the redemption amount is gradually decreased in accordance with a gradual increase in the bet amount, and the recovery amount (negative) is gradually decreased in accordance with a gradual decrease in the bet amount. Also, in the case of a jackpot being won, the image generating device 64 may generate an image in which the carryover amount 73 displayed in front of the dealer is gradually decreased in accordance with a gradual increase in the redemption amount of the player position.
- the settlement determination device 62 may determine whether or not the settlement has been performed correctly. In this case, the cameras 21, 23 continue capturing images even during the settlement stage, and the image recognition device 61 recognizes the gaming chips 9 on the game table 1, including the gaming chips 9 that are redeemed during the settlement stage. Based on the recognition result, the settlement determination device 62 can determine whether or not the correct amount based on the rules has been redeemed for the gaming chips 9 that have won the game.
- the settlement determination device 62 may determine whether or not settlement has been performed correctly based on the increase or decrease in the amount of gaming chips 9 in the chip tray 5.
- the image generation device 64 may display the result of the determination, and in the case of an improper settlement, generate an image indicating the bet target on which the improper settlement occurred.
- the gaming system of this embodiment not only can images according to the progress of the game be displayed on the display surface 111 constituting at least a part of the table top surface 11, but images according to the game results of games using physical playing cards and the contents of bets made using physical gaming chips 9 can also be displayed. These displays are intended to guide players through the game or increase the interest of the game, to support the dealer in operations such as settlement, and to confirm the accuracy of various operations of the game.
- the display surface 111 is a light-transmitting screen
- the image control device 7 is a projector that projects an image onto the screen from below the table top surface 11, but the display surface 111 and the image control device 7 are not limited to these.
- the image control device 7 may be a display device that displays an image.
- the display surface 111 is a display panel of the display device.
- the display device may be a liquid crystal display device.
- the display surface 111 may be a screen that does not have optical transparency, in which case the image control device 7 may be a projector that projects an image onto the screen from above the table top surface 11. In other words, projection mapping may be performed onto the display surface 111.
- the display surface 111 may be covered with a cloth to make it pleasant to the touch.
- the display surface 111 may be provided with a touch sensor, and various types of information may be displayed by switching between them through touch operations.
- the cameras 22, 24 generate images including the players and the gaming chips bet, as described above.
- the image recognition device 61 may analyze the images to associate the players with the chip stacks 900 bet and determine the bet content for each player. This allows patron ratings to be performed.
- FIG. 12 is a diagram showing an example of an image generated by a camera for photographing a player and gaming chips in an embodiment.
- Cameras 22 and 24 can obtain images with a wider range than cameras 21 and 23.
- Image recognition device 61 analyzes the images generated by cameras 22 and 24 to recognize the skeletal model of the player from the image, and further recognizes chip stacks 900, and identifies which player has placed which chip stacks 900 in betting area 74 based on the relative positions of the chip stacks 900 and the skeletal model's hands.
- the image generation device 64 may generate an image of the betting area based on the number and positions of the players. Specifically, the image generation device 64 may generate an image of the betting area having betting objects for each player for the number of players. Alternatively, the image generation device 64 may generate an image of the betting area having betting objects for a player according to the position where the player is located.
- the image generating device 64 may generate images including background animations in addition to the displays described above at each stage of the betting stage, card dealing stage, and settlement stage.
- the bet gaming chips 9 are photographed with a camera to generate an image, and the image is analyzed to recognize the position of the chip stack 900 and the type and number of gaming chips 9 contained in the chip stack 900.
- an RFID antenna may be embedded inside the display surface 111 and the RFID tag 94 of the bet gaming chip 9 may be read to determine the bet contents.
- the game result is determined by reading the rank of the playing cards drawn one by one by the card shoe 3.
- the game result may be determined by reading the cards drawn and open on the table top surface 11 with a camera.
- the cameras 21 and 23 capture an image of an area including the areas where the playing cards are placed (player hand area 71 and banker hand area 72).
- the image recognition device 61 recognizes the playing cards in the image, determines the rank of each hand, and determines the game result according to the rules.
- an audio generating device and an audio output device may be provided to output audio in accordance with the video.
- audio may be output in response to the detection of the gaming chip 9.
- the display surface 111 may be turned off when there are no players, and a motion sensor may be provided to detect players, or image recognition by the cameras 22, 24 may be continued, so that when the first player arrives at the game table 1 while there are no players present, this may be detected and the display surface 111 may be turned on. Also, when a predetermined time has elapsed since no players were detected, the display surface 111 may be automatically turned off or put into a sleep state. When the first player is detected and display of the display surface 111 is started, a start-up animation may be displayed to welcome the player.
- the jackpot is executed by the lottery execution device 63 conducting a lottery using random numbers, but instead, whether the jackpot is a win or a loss may be determined by the rank of the playing cards drawn from the card shoe 3. For example, the jackpot may be determined to be a win when the first four playing cards drawn are all of the same rank.
- the card shoe 3 as the game determination device functions as the lottery execution device. Note that in this case as well, images of the lottery game may be displayed on the display surface 111 in the same manner as in the above embodiment.
- the image generating device 64 may be capable of generating images of multiple types of layouts for baccarat, and may generate and display images of different types of layouts for each day, for example.
- the image generating device 64 may generate images of layouts for games other than baccarat, such as blackjack and big and small, and may select and display images of layouts corresponding to the games played on the game table 1.
- the image generating device 64 may generate and display images of layouts in which the number, size, spacing, etc. of betting areas for each player position are adjusted according to the number of players participating in the game recognized by the image recognition device 61.
- a part of the layout may be printed on the table top surface 11, and the layout may be completed together with the image of the layout generated and displayed by the image generating device 64.
- the image generating device 64 may also generate an image displaying the sum of the ranks of the playing cards dealt onto the game table 1 from the card shoe 3 as a game determination device. Specifically, for baccarat, the image generating device 64 may calculate the sum of the ranks of the playing cards constituting the player's hand or the ones digit of the sum as the player's hand value, and may calculate the sum of the ranks of the playing cards constituting the banker's hand or the ones digit of the sum as the banker's hand value, and generate and display an image including these values.
- an image of the hand value of the hand to which more cards should be dealt may be made to flash. That is, when a third card is to be dealt to the player, the sum of the ranks of the first two cards dealt to the player or the ones digit of the sum may be displayed by flashing. Similarly, for the banker, when a third card is to be dealt to the banker, the sum or the ones digit of the ranks of the first two cards dealt to the banker may be displayed by flashing. Also, for blackjack, the sum or the ones digit of the ranks of the playing cards that make up each hand of the player and the dealer may be calculated, and an image including this value may be generated and displayed.
- the image generating device 64 may also generate and display a tutorial image to guide the player through the game. Specifically, in baccarat or blackjack, when some of the playing cards of each hand have been dealt, the image generating device 64 may generate and display an image to guide the player as to which rank of playing card should be dealt next in order to give the hand an advantage or to allow the hand to win the game.
- the image generating device 64 may generate a tutorial image such as the one below. That is, the image generating device 64 may generate an image including an explanation of the winning conditions of each player based on the betting details of the player recognized by the image recognition device 61. Furthermore, when minimum and maximum bet conditions are set, the image generating device 64 may generate an image including a warning if the set minimum and maximum bet conditions are not met.
- the rules of each game and the winning conditions of the main and side bets may be constantly displayed on the game table, and may be switched between display and non-display by detecting the operation of the player or dealer, or hand movements, etc.
- the image generating device 64 may generate and display an image notifying the player of this, an image displaying a new betting area, and a payout rate.
- an image may be generated and displayed to encourage the player to make a bet.
- a new bet, "insurance” can also be made during a game. For example, if a player (a player participating in a game) has bet on the banker, the player can make an additional bet, "banker insurance,” during the game, on the banker losing.
- a new betting area for banker insurance may be displayed.
- the payout rate for such a new bet may be calculated based on the cards dealt, and the rate may be displayed.
- the maximum amount that can be bet (maximum bet) may be calculated and displayed, and an alert may be displayed if the amount bet exceeds the maximum bet.
- the winning percentage of the bet (theoretical probability of the bet winning) may be calculated and displayed. The same may be done for "player insurance," which is a bet that the player will lose during the game if a bet has been placed on the player.
- a video of the history of past wins and losses at the game table may be generated and displayed, and the historical data may be updated and displayed after each game.
- Changing the layout can mean changing the type of game being played (e.g., baccarat, blackjack, etc.) or changing to a different layout for the same game.
- Switching images during the game can include displaying the ones digit of the total value of the ranks of the cards drawn, displaying the results of the game, the amount of lost chips collected, and the amount of redemption for winning chips.
- the part describing the image generation device 64 as "generating" an image also includes the image generation device 64 selecting an appropriate image from among a plurality of images that have already been generated and prepared, and further includes the image generation device 64 selecting an appropriate image from a plurality of images that have already been generated and prepared, as well as processing the selected image or superimposing another image on the selected image.
