Definitions

  • the present application relates to the field of biomedicine, and specifically to a method for preventing or treating a disease with a compound and its use.
  • Diabetic foot infection is one of the serious complications of diabetes and the main cause of lower limb amputation in diabetic patients. Among the approximately 150 million diabetic patients worldwide, 15% to 20% of patients may develop foot ulcers or gangrene during their disease course. The amputation rate of diabetic foot disease is 15 times that of non-diabetic patients, and about 50% of the amputees each year are diabetic patients. The treatment of diabetic foot ulcers is extremely expensive, and its incidence in China has also shown a significant year-on-year increase. Therefore, the medical and social problems caused by diabetic foot infection have begun to receive attention from many domestic professionals.
  • the treatment of diabetic foot infection is often hindered by local ischemia, and systemic administration of antibiotics can sometimes only achieve low plasma levels of antibiotic drugs at the site of infection.
