Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de récupération de lithium à partir d'une saumure contenant du lithium, le procédé comprenant les étapes de procédé consistant à : (i) soumettre une saumure contenant du lithium à une ou plusieurs étapes préliminaires d'élimination d'impuretés afin de produire une saumure intermédiaire comprenant : moins de 100 mg/l de bore ; moins de 100 mg/l de calcium ; moins de 100 mg/l de magnésium ; et moins de 100 mg/l de strontium ; (ii) soumettre la saumure contenant du lithium ou la saumure intermédiaire à au moins une étape d'élimination de silicium afin de réduire la concentration en silicium à moins de 10 mg/l ; (iii) traiter la saumure intermédiaire dans au moins une étape d'échange d'ions afin d'éliminer d'autres impuretés cationiques divalentes ; (iv) traiter la saumure intermédiaire dans au moins une étape d'échange d'ions afin d'éliminer d'autres impuretés de bore ; et (v) faire passer une saumure purifiée résultant des étapes (ii) à (iv) à une étape de récupération de lithium afin de produire un produit de lithium et une saumure appauvrie en lithium.
