Abstract
L'invention concerne des procédés d'exploitation d'un élément de batterie à électrolyte liquide utilisé en service de traction pour prévenir la perte d'eau. Lors de la charge de la cellule, l'eau dans l'électrolyte subit une décomposition électrolytique en oxygène et en gaz hydrogène. Le procédé comprend la recombinaison catalytique des gaz oxygène et hydrogène en vapeur d'eau, l'inhibition du dégazage de l'oxygène, de l'hydrogène et de la vapeur d'eau hors de l'élément, la mise en communication fluidique entre le catalyseur et l'électrolyte pour les gaz oxygène et hydrogène et la vapeur d'eau, et l'absorption hygroscopique de la vapeur d'eau dans l'électrolyte. L'invention concerne également des dispositifs et des éléments de batterie permettant de mettre en œuvre le procédé.
