Process for the production of a pasty liquid to achieve high gloss and pure whiteness on paper, fine paper, art paper, chrome cardboard and
Replacement papers.

In the patent no. 111709 a method is described, according to which a pasty mass, which by adding a heavy metal salt, in particular a zinc salt, to saponified stearin in the paper pulp, u. between is expediently entered into the paper stock in the Dutch, with the effect,
 EMI1.1
The noble printing process achieves particularly suitable properties in terms of smoothness and whiteness, without having to subject it to the known coating process and satin finish.

The process differs from that of the parent patent in that instead of treating the saponified stearin with a sehwermetal salt, e.g. B. a zinc salt, the addition to the saponified stearin from the solution of a salt of the light metal group or the alkaline earth metals and since preferably consists of a solution of a barium salt.

Apart from the lower price of barium salts compared to zinc salts, this process also has the advantage that the paper produces a whiteness that exceeds that according to the process of the parent patent and is equal to the so-called standard white.
